Story

Meet Sequoia! This sweet 2-year-old Boxer/Pit mix has already proven what a good mama she is. Sequoia arrived at a high-intake shelter in Houston with her seven neonate puppies and, despite doing everything she could to care for them, they all landed on the euthanasia list. Thankfully, a foster stepped up and gave this little family the second chance they desperately needed. Now that her puppy days are behind her, Sequoia is ready for a life where she gets to be the baby! She is incredibly social with people, loves kids, and seems to take the whole “making friends” thing very seriously. She’s also been non-reactive with her canine companions. Sequoia is smart, food motivated, and rides well in the car. She is a sweet, people-loving girl who has been through a lot and deserves nothing but the best from here on out. Her next chapter should involve plenty of love, comfy couches, and absolutely zero more puppies! Sequoia is in foster in Fort Collins, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/sequoia You can apply for our wonderful dogs at https://www.milehighcanine.org/adopt/adoption-application/.

******Please note, once completing the initial screen you will be connected with the placement for a video chat. Transports run every few weeks and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time************ We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. Teeka, a 1 year 7 month old spayed female, Boxer mix, 42lbs. She is in a foster home in Houston, TX and can transport out of state once an approved adopter is lined up! The amazing Teeka is on the hunt for her forever home. She specializes in best friending with an emphasis on playing! She currently lives with several larger dogs and is learning to respect their boundaries. She LOVES to play with them, but does need some help realizing when her foster siblings are ready to stop. She has not met any cats, so we’re not sure how she’d react to a feline sibling. Her foster mom says she’s done well meeting new human friends and is learning not to jump on them. Because of this and her high energy levels, we do recommend a home with older dog savvy kids. This smartie is house and crate trained! She sleeps quietly in her crate and is kenneled whenever her foster family is out of the house. We don’t recommend leaving her out unsupervised as she may help herself to whatever she finds in the kitchen. Teeka’s love for food is next level and she will try to sneak a bite from you or the other dog’s bowls, but has shown no signs of resource guarding. She is still working on her leash manners, but is getting better every day! She gets a little too excited when she sees other dogs, but is learning to calm down and continue on her walk. This happy girl absolutely loves toys! She knows where the toy basket is and will get one so you can join in the fun. She’s a huge fan of fetch and tug of war! Teeka is learning the joys of relaxing too. She loves to lay on your legs and get some pets and give some kisses. She’s happy just to be near her humans. Teeka is a young pup with boundless energy that will thrive in a home with a yard, daily exercise, training and patience. She’s a goofy, happy, loving girl and with just one look into those pretty doe eyes, your heart will melt! ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. *** Interested in applying to adopt her? Story

Here's what my previous owner says about me: "Ty is, without question, the best dog I've ever had. He has the sweetest, most even temperament and is incredibly calm. He loves to cuddle, loves laying next to you, and just wants to be close to his people. He's a little timid when meeting other dogs, but once he gets comfortable, he warms up pretty quickly. He absolutely loves kids and people. He's excellent on a leash, and for me he's always done great off leash as well. The only time he really struggles is when he's scared. Thunder is probably his biggest enemy. When he's nervous, he'll either chew on something out of anxiety or come running over because he wants you to protect him from whatever has him worried."

Story

Posie is a beautiful, intelligent dog who’s been working hard on her training for several months and has made great strides with the help of a dedicated trainer. She is looking for a very specific kind of home—one where her boundaries are respected, her training is maintained, and her environment is predictable and safe. Her ideal adopter will be someone committed to continuing her structured training using tools like a remote collar and positive reinforcement, especially in public or off-leash environments. When her training is followed, she does beautifully on leash and can pass other people and animals calmly and confidently.Posie is good with cats and currently lives with 5 other dogs, a cat and children. A home with older children is required, however.Posie is not the dog for every home—but for the right person, she will be an incredibly loyal, loving, and rewarding companion. If you're experienced, patient, and ready to continue her training and give her the structure she needs, Posie will return your dedication with endless heart. We are committed to finding the perfect match for Posie to set her—and her future family—up for success. If you're interested, we’d love to talk and set up a time for you to meet her with guidance from her trainer. Check me out https://www.instagram.com/reel/DIZRDwAxIy0/?igsh=cHN5YzVtNnNlbTB3 I'm around 6 years old and 40lbs and have been waiting for my forever home for 2 years. ##1953751##
