Story
Name / Breed / Age: Pea, Shar Pei, Adult  Personality Traits: Quiet, The Independent Thinker, The Old Soul Likes / Dislikes:  Like - meal time! Dislike - bath time  Health and behavior history:  Up to date on vaccines, dewormed, microchipped, and will be spayed prior to adoption. Clean bill of health from the PIPs Vet!   Meet Pea   Sweet little Pea is a gentle, easygoing girl who thrives with patience, routine, and a calm home. Because she has very limited vision, Pea needs a little time to learn her surroundings and feel secure. Once she does, she settles in beautifully and confidently navigates her world using her excellent nose and ears. You may see her gently boop walls or furniture as she moves around, her own version of mapping out where she is, which is both endearing and impressive.   Pea enjoys exploring the yard, can manage steps with a moment to orient herself, and knows exactly where to go when she needs to potty. She lets you know by heading toward the back door, giving you time to help her get outside.   She is not a big cuddler, but she loves being near her people. Pea will sit close, nap nearby, and happily accept ear and butt scritchies. When you talk to her, her wrinkly, semi nekkid tail wiggles with joy. She greets her foster with happy barks and even a little jump for pets when they come home.   Pea loves her kennel and chooses it as her safe, cozy space for sleeping and meals. She happily goes in when her bowl is ready. One of her most charming quirks is her quiet little grumble or growl, especially around food. Sometimes she will rearrange her bowl just right while softly talking to herself, or simply sit and grumble thoughtfully for no apparent reason.   Because of her limited vision, Pea can startle if another dog sneaks up on her. She may growl or snap to say “hey, I didn’t see you,” but there is no aggression behind it. She would do best as an only dog or with calm, respectful dog friends who understand her needs and give her space.   Pea truly is an easy dog to have. She is gentle, predictable, and quietly affectionate. She is looking for a forever home willing to give her a little time to adjust, appreciate her quirks, and let her continue to blossom. In return, Pea will offer steady companionship, sweet moments, and a whole lot of heart. ##2564793##

Story
Moon is a lively Shar-Pei mix pup with a whole lot of personality 🌙✨. She’s friendly, extroverted, and always ready to steal the spotlight. Playful, social, and full of charm, Moon fills every room with joy. Her name was chosen by Woofstock’s Name a Dog item winner, who shared that they chose it because of the phases of the moon and the new phase this pup is entering, Moon truly felt like the perfect fit. As a Shar-Pei mix, Moon may need a bit of extra routine care ❤️🐾. This breed can experience skin sensitivities, so her future family should be prepared to help her stay comfortable with good skincare habits and regular vet support. With the right care, Moon will shine in her next chapter and bring endless joy to her new home!

Story
Meet Chip — a 1-year-old Boxer/Pit Mix weighing 42 lbs, full of energy, charm, and love! Quick Facts: Name: Chip Breed: Boxer/Pitbull Mix Age: 1 year old Weight: 42 lbs. House-Trained: Yes Crate-Trained: Yes Good with Dogs: Yes Good with Cats: No (unless they really like to be chased!) Good with Kids: Yes (prefer school-aged kids who like to run and play) Energy Level: Medium to High Fence Required: No (he is good on a leash) About Chip’s Breed: Our best guess is that Chip is a Boxer/Pitbull mix. The Boxer/Pitbull mix, often called a Bullboxer Pit, is a strong, energetic, and affectionate hybrid breed. They combine the loyalty and protective instincts of the Pitbull with the playful, athletic nature of the Boxer, making them excellent companions for active families. These dogs are typically medium to large in size (around 50–80 lbs) and thrive in homes where they receive consistent training, early socialization, and plenty of exercise. They are known to be loving, loyal, and good with children, but because of their energy and strength, they do best with experienced owners who can provide structure and outlets for play. An ideal home for a Boxer/Pitbull mix is one with space to run, an active lifestyle, and a family ready to give them both affection and guidance. All About Chip: Chip is “all boy” with a playful spirit and an infectious little smile that wins hearts everywhere he goes! Despite a rough start to life, his endearing nature shines through—he’s potty trained, crate trained, and has excellent house manners. He can be trusted uncrated when you’re away and is very polite at mealtime, though his love of food means he’ll happily scarf down his own (and anyone else’s) if given the chance! Known as the “social butterfly” of the rescue, Chip loves literally everyone he meets. He’s an enthusiastic playmate with other dogs and great with kids, especially school-aged children who can match his playful energy. Cats, however, aren’t the best fit—Chip can’t quite understand why they don’t want to play chase. On leash, Chip does well and would thrive with an active family ready for adventures like hiking, running, or long walks. He has a more dominant play style and would do best in a home with more submissive and playful dogs for now. He would also do well as a solo pup! While he loves to snuggle and hug, Chip can be what we jokingly refer to as “aggressively affectionate”, sometimes to the point of being overwhelming, but he responds beautifully to food treats and positive reinforcement. Chip’s Highlights: • 42 lbs of playful energy, loves to play hard and smile big • Potty and crate trained, with great house manners • Social butterfly, adores people and dogs alike • Best with school-aged kids, loves active play • Not cat-friendly, he thinks they like to be chased and played with • Adventure-ready, enjoys hiking, running, and walking • Affectionate snuggler, loves hugs and responds well to treats Chip is the bestest, best boy—a loving, playful companion who’s ready to bring joy, laughter, and adventure to his forever family! Comprehensive details are provided in the dog's description. to ensure a smooth process, please submit a completed application through our website at: http://crisisdogsnc.org/dog-adoption/.
