Story
(DOB 10/31/2025) Due to Jia's young age, she has not been spayed yet. For this reason, we are only considering local placement (within a 1-hour drive time of Wake Forest NC).  Jia is the kind of dog who feels like she was made to be part of a big, happy family. With her gentle nature and easygoing personality, she fits right in and that includes kids, cats, other dogs (even smaller ones). She has a natural understanding of how to be soft and respectful with little ones (both human and furry!), making her a wonderful companion in a busy, love-filled home. Jia NEEDS another playful dog in the home to help her burn energy and continue building her social skills. With her affectionate nature and lively spirit, she’ll do best in an active home ready to keep up with her zest for life and provide plenty of enrichment and playtime. This smart and inquisitive girl is always ready to learn something new. Jia is a quick learner who enjoys figuring things out, and her playful curiosity keeps life fun and engaging. Whether she’s exploring her surroundings, joining in on playtime, or simply watching the world go by, she brings a bright, happy energy wherever she goes. Jia has also shown that she handles new situations like a pro. At adoption events and meet-ups, she’s calm, friendly, and well-mannered around unfamiliar animals and people alike. She takes everything in stride and is especially patient and sweet with young children, happily soaking up attention and affection. So don't wait too long because this girl is an amazing catch! At the end of the day, Jia is all about connection and she loves being around her people, getting pets, and joining in on the fun. If you’re looking for a loving, playful, and adaptable pup who will thrive in a lively household, Jia is ready to be your perfect match. As part of Jia’s $325 adoption fee, she will be spayed, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. In addition to the adoption fee, a $100 spay/neuter deposit and puppy spay/neuter agreement will also be required. The deposit will be returned once the puppy is altered. If you have questions about this sweet girl, you can email: Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org. If you wish to adopt Jia, you can complete an application online for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website: www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##2642329##

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Toby is still looking for a home.  He was found as a stray in April, the owners (located via his chip), couldn’t take him back.  The vet says he’s a Sharpei mix, and estimated to be between 2-4 yrs old.  I have completely vetted him and he is now fully healed from his neuter. His vet care to this point has exceeded $300-but he is in great health and ready for a forever, loving home.  I am keeping him on flea, tick and hw prevention while in my care. Toby is: house trained, takes treats gently, has leash manners, wants to be with someone, loves lap time, enjoys being outside. Toby would love a home without small children (he gets jumpy excited) and someone able to walk him.  A fenced yard isn’t required, but would be nice.  Not sure about shared walls housing since he has a deep bark. We currently keep him separated from my dogs since they are not always nice to others.  We have taken Toby to a park to see his reaction in public. He ignores adults, nub wags at children, but gets jumpy excited when dogs walked by.  When on walks, he shows interest in squirrels, rabbits but is brought back on track with a stern “No”.  When in the fenced yard, he plays and self entertains, and checks to see you’re still there once in awhile. A meet and greet is required and I am asking for a $300 rehoming fee.  He will keep his new bed, new collar and of course his toys to help with his adjustment into a new home.  Please keep in mind dogs may take a few weeks to get settled in a new home.  We could tell Toby had been through a lot and took him about 2 weeks to feel comfortable.  He is now on a “schedule” and responds to “go for a walk”, “ready breakfast”, “ready for supper”, and “ready for bed?”.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 13, 2026, 1:21 pm

Story
(DOB 1/22/2026) If you're looking for a puppy who lives life at full speed and loves with her whole heart, Princess Tiana is ready to rule your kingdom! This adorable young girl is overflowing with curiosity, personality, and puppy energy. Every day is a new adventure in Tiana's world, and she's looking for a family that wants to join the fun. Tiana is a social butterfly who absolutely loves other dogs. Whether she's puppy wrestling, playing tug-of-war, chasing a ball in a game of fetch, or zooming around the yard with her canine friends, she's happiest when she has a playmate by her side. Because she's still young and learning about the world, Tiana would thrive in a home with another playful dog or a family committed to providing plenty of opportunities for doggy socialization through playdates, daycare, or regular outings. A securely fenced yard is also at the top of her wish list so she can safely burn off some of that puppy energy. Like any true princess, Tiana knows how to balance playtime with snuggle time. Once she's worn herself out, she transforms into a world-class cuddle bug. Be prepared for lots of puppy kisses and surprise nap locations! Tiana loves to curl up right on top of her humans, whether that's across your feet, your lap, your stomach, or even your head. Of course, she's also perfectly happy snoozing in her dog bed after a busy day of adventures. Tiana is good with children, though her size and enthusiastic puppy energy make her a better fit for families with older kids who can handle her playful nature. She is also learning about cats and currently finds them a little too fascinating, so her foster family is helping her practice appropriate manners around feline friends. As a young puppy, Tiana is still working on all the important life skills. She's making progress with crate training, potty training, leash walking, and learning not to jump up when she's excited to meet people. She's smart, eager to learn, and responds well to consistent guidance. Her ideal family will understand that puppies require patience, training, exercise, and continued socialization to grow into amazing adult dogs. Tiana is the total puppy package playful, affectionate, entertaining, and endlessly lovable. She'll keep you laughing with her silly antics, melt your heart with her sweet kisses, and remind you every day just how much joy a puppy can bring to a home. If you're ready for a loyal sidekick, a professional snuggler, and a four-legged best friend who will keep life exciting, Princess Tiana is ready to meet her happily ever after. As part of Tiana’s $325 adoption fee, she will be spayed, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet girl, you can email: Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org. Story
DOB (08/05/2021) Lady is so loveable & snuggable! When squishy face=adorable, you get Lady! Lady is a perfect mix of playful and well-mannered. She loves going for walks, playing with her favorite toys (balls, balls, balls, please!), and enjoying quality time with her humans. If you're too busy to play, no worries, just give her a ball, and she will keep herself occupied!  If you are up for some snuggle time, Lady is very happy to jump on the sofa with you to relax, read a book, watch a show, or listen to some tunes. We think she'd make a great sleeping buddy and petite enough to not take up too much room on the bed yet help keep you nice and warm. She is always up for a walk, and she's extra happy if you stop and let her "smell the roses" or whatever is out there to sniff. She'll have her big smile across her face, her cute little gate, and her tail swishing side to side. Lady is also a car ride fan and happy to go with you wherever you go! Then there's couch snuggles and chewing on her favorite toy and call it wrap for a paw-fect day. She likes the water and has been found putting her toes in at the lake/stream. So she is a great go with the flow kind-of-a-girl with a smile that will light up the room and your heart! Honestly, she is just so adorable you will fall in love as soon as you meet her! Lady has the most silky-soft coat. We guess it is from the mix of breeds she must be that makes it thick, soft, and kind of a velvety feeling when you rub her. And let's be honest, she loves getting pets, so go for it!! She will need regular brushin'; that's super easy! She’s crate trained, potty trained, and would be a great fit for townhome, apartment, or condo living. Since Lady doesn't love to share her toys with other dogs, she'd do best as an only dog or with a male dog that doesn't care much about toys. In her foster home, Lady has 4-legged furry friends she pals around with and enjoys their company.  If you’re looking for a loyal, loving, and snuggly best friend, Lady is ready to steal your heart!  As part of Lady’s $300 adoption fee, she is spayed, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet little girl, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Lady, you can fill in an online application for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##2163171##
