Story
Greetings, I'm Mint, an 8-month-old girl with a mix. My journey began when I was just a 2-week-old baby, arriving at the city shelter along with my seven siblings and loving Mom. I bring a delightful and sociable spirit with me. One of my brothers found a loving home in Seattle through fostering, and it was love at first sight for his foster family. We're a charming bunch! Yet, the rest of my siblings, including myself, are still at the city shelter, facing the risk of euthanasia. All of us are a delightful blend of friendly, funny, and undeniably cute. Strength? That's a matter of perspective. I consider myself innocent and gentle, always eager for playful adventures. Food is a joy, but I'm no guard—sharing with friends is more my style. My energy level is moderate, and I enjoy playtime with pals while maintaining a calm demeanour indoors. Petting me is a breeze, and my wobbly tail is a testament to my happiness. I'm the epitome of cheerfulness—always ready with a wagging tail, especially when making eye contact. If you're in search of a bright and cheerful companion, look no further—meet me and let's create a beautiful bond! Story
Hello, I'm Bay, an adorable 8-month-old SharPei mix boy eagerly awaiting my forever home. My journey began at the city shelter when I was just a 2-week-old baby, accompanied by my loving Mom and seven siblings. While one of my seven siblings found a happy home through fostering, I and my other siblings are still at the city shelter, facing the risk of euthanasia. Each one of us embodies a friendly, funny, and endearing spirit. Picture this: lovely chocolate fur, long legs adorned with white socks, and eyes that exude innocence, much like a baby angel. I'm a social butterfly, adoring people so much that I'll gladly sit on a stranger's lap upon our first meeting. Playing with friends is a delight for me, and if I discover a cherished toy, I'll quietly retreat to a corner to enjoy it. My nature is gentle and kind; even if friends approach me while I'm with my toys, I'll simply relocate without any fuss or growls. If you're seeking a puppy friend to always bring a smile to your face and shower you with love, then I'm the perfect companion. Consider adopting me, and I promise to become a cherished and lovable member of your family. Let's create a beautiful bond and fill your home with joy and love together. Hello, I'm Cinamon, an adorable 8-month-old SharPei mix girl eagerly awaiting my forever home. My journey began at the city shelter when I was just a 2-week-old baby, accompanied by my loving Mom and seven siblings. We're a charming bunch! While one of my seven siblings found a happy home through fostering, my other siblings and I are still at the city shelter, facing the risk of euthanasia. Each one of us embodies a friendly, funny, and endearing spirit. I'm a social butterfly, adoring people so much. I allow strangers to touch or hug me. I'm a very nice, innocent soul. And I'm an extreme toy lover. If I have a toy I like, I go to the corner alone and play with it quietly without my friends knowing. I grew up in a shelter as a baby, so I have less experience. I still need to learn how to eat snacks. When I go for a walk, my tail goes down in unfamiliar places. I wish I had a family who could teach me the taste of delicious snacks and the joy of walking. I will be your lovely and good family member. I'm in a shelter in Korea and ready to fly anywhere in Seattle or Vancouver if you call my name. Story
Meet Fonda, a bundle of joy who will undoubtedly bring a smile to your face the moment you meet her. With her totally Shar Pei head, complete with smooshy, kissable lips, and a body resembling a small, fluffy lab, she's an irresistible mix of goofy charm and adorable wrinkles. Weighing in at a lean 37 pounds, Fonda is a fun-loving adult who could stand to pack on a few more pounds, but her playful energy is in full force! Her signature moves include rolling over for belly rubs, zoomies around the yard, and an insatiable love for pets and attention. Fonda is great with other dogs-big or small, young or old-and gets along well with cats, too. While her interactions with children are unknown, she doesn't seem to have an aggressive bone in her body and is generally a sweetheart. Fonda seems to be completely potty trained and does well in her crate. Although she prefers to be with her human, she's getting better at settling in her crate. She sleeps quietly through the night, provided she gets one last bathroom break before bed-she can be an early riser if she misses her before bed potty time! On a leash, she's making progress on not pulling, but tends to walk as if always on a mission. This sweet girl is currently learning the "sit" command and making strides with training. Playful, a little clumsy, and full of affection, Fonda is simply fabulous and would thrive with regular walks, plenty of belly rubs, and lots of quality time with her people.

Story
Ryan Evans is already neutered and READY TO GO HOME!Ryan Evans is a handsome 2-year-old male dog who came in as a stray with his companion Sharpay Evans. Ryan is an easy-going pup who is easy to leash and walks by other dogs without any reaction. He's a gentle, sweet boy who takes treats gently and is known for being a good walker with no pulling. With medium energy, Ryan is perfect for both playtime and relaxing moments. During playgroups, although his housemate (Sharpay Evans) was in the mixed gender group of four, Ryan Evans seemed to let her steal the spotlight. Ryan was okay with being more reserved and more in the background. He seemed to enjoy himself, but he was more lowkey.Although he is heartworm positive, it is treatable and not contagious. Friends of Wake County Animal Center has provided a $400 sponsorship to help cover the cost of treatment. If you're interested in learning more about him, please reach out to our volunteer matchmakers at wcac.matchmaker@gmail.com with the subject line "Ryan Evans 251912".He is up to date on vaccinations, flea/tick, and heartworm prevention, is microchipped, and already neutered. If you have dogs or cats, we recommend slow introductions over time. If you have children in your home, we recommend supervision between animals and children at all times. Story
Sharpay Evans is a beautiful 3-year-old female dog who arrived as a stray with her companion Ryan Evans. Sharpay has had puppies at some point and is now ready for her own forever home. This lovely girl gets really excited when it's time to go out and may jump with enthusiasm and pull a little on the leash initially but settles down quickly, eager to explore and sniff around. Despite her excitement, she remains non-reactive to other dogs as she walks by them. During playgroup, Sharpay was sweet, sassy and silly. Her start was slow, but she revved up quickly. She played equally well with boys and girls.Although she is heartworm positive, it is treatable and not contagious. Friends of Wake County Animal Center has provided a $400 sponsorship to help cover the cost of treatment. She is up to date on vaccinations, flea/tick, and heartworm prevention, is microchipped, and will be spayed prior to going home. If you have dogs or cats, we recommend slow introductions over time. If you have children in your home, we recommend supervision between animals and children at all times. Story
(DOB 08/05/2020) Things Lady loves; water - she already has explored the lake and walked right in. In the future, we plan to fit her for a life vest and see how she does swiming. Lady loves balls of all kinds. If they squeak, make noise, etc. even better. She finds them very entertaining. She is a great travel companion and enjoys car rides so take her with you to have an amazing "co-pilot". Lady is, "Perfectly imperfect!" Maybe she doesn't love every dog and would love to be an only dog in the home so she can get all the love and attention! We hope you will fall in love and give her a chance, she won’t let you down!  Lady could be a good pup for an apartment, townhome or apartment with the appropriate amount of walks and playtime. She would be happiest in a home with a 5ft+ fence to have to explore. Other than barking a little bit when you leave she isn't that vocal. She is already house and crate trained If you work from home and would like a loveable and loyal companion, Lady says she is up for the task! You will likely find her snuggling up near you and happy to help you take a mid-day break for a walk followed by some good ole belly rubs. Lady hasn't been introduce to cats yet but based on her love of chasing bunnies, squirrels, etc. a cat free home would be best. Due to her size a family with adults and mature children. Lady is heartworm positive and our rescue will treat her so she can be adopted within 1-hr of Wake Forest, NC while she is under going treatment. Don't let that stop you from considering this sweet girl and giving her a fur-ever home! As part of Lady’s $300 adoption fee, she will be spayed, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet little girl, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Lady, you can fill in an online application for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##2163171##
