Story
Lady, the squishy-faced sweetheart who’s as charming as they come! This lovable Shar-Pei mix has a heart as big as her adorable wrinkles, and she’s sure to melt your's with her playful personality, silly antics, and endless affection. Lady’s list of favorite things is full of fun! She’s a water lover, a treat enthusiast, and a big fan of “walkies.” Her playful side shines with her love for balls of all kinds—if they squeak or make noise, even better!! Lady has a talent for entertaining herself (and you) by tossing her toys around and chasing after them, bringing joy to everyone watching. But that’s not all, Lady’s a fantastic travel companion who loves car rides, especially when they lead to exciting adventures or a well-deserved treat like a pup cup. As the queen she is, Lady would prefer to rule her domain as the one and only fur-royalty. She’d thrive in a home with a fenced yard (5 feet or taller) where she can run and play to her heart’s content. However, she’s just as happy in a townhome or apartment as long as she gets her daily dose of walks and playtime. Lady is house-trained, crate-trained, and ready to bring her sunshine into your home. In her downtime, Lady is all about snuggles and affection. She’ll happily lounge near you, enjoy a mid-day nap, and indulge in some well-deserved belly rubs. You'll never be lonely with this wrinkle wonder by your side! Ready for a lifetime of fun, love, and snuggles? Lady is the one for you! As part of Lady’s $300 adoption fee, she is spayed, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet little girl, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Lady, you can fill in an online application for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##2163171##

Story
Amelia is such a sweetheart. She loves to cuddle and give you kisses and little nibbles. She will follow you everywhere and is not at all interested in running away - she does not like to be left alone or left behind. She is the perfect mid-sized companion and will be a very affectionate, loyal friend. She seldom barks. Isn't she cute - with those button ears?Amelia is not at all aggressive, and at times can be a bit shy. She is so eager to trust but is sometimes a little unsure and cautious. She loves to see familiar people and loves to play with their dogs when we go for walks each morning, noon and night. She enjoys riding in the car and is very well behaved on outings to dog-friendly restaurants, wineries and outdoor events. She and her foster brother play well together. They will chase each other and share toys. Amelia is also content to play quietly with toys by herself. She is up to date on vaccinations, flea/tick, heartworm prevention, and is microchipped. She is spayed. Amelia has graduated potty-training 101. We are so proud of her. She is proud of herself and really shows how happy she is when she hears she's been a good girl. She gets a good belly scratch. If you have dogs or cats, as always, we recommend slow introductions over time. If you have children in your home, we always recommend supervision between animals and children. Primary Color: Tan Secondary Color: Black Weight: 44 Age: 3yrs 10mths 0wks

Story
If you're looking for a happy-go-lucky girl that loves walks, hikes, humans, dogs, snuggles, and the like, then look no further. This sweet girl is nearly perfect! She can't help but make your day a little more "Rosie". She's house trained, crate trained, and does great on walks (and looooves an adventure - car rides, meeting friends, play dates - she's your girl)! She's still young and is best behaved after a little activity, but such a good pup. She's learning basic commands and spends her time trying to please her humans. She may be one of the happiest foster dogs we've met! While she does have heartworms, the friends of wake county has sponsored her $400 toward her treatment. And it's very treatable. Please ask any questions you may have. If you're ready for some joy in your life, email her foster mom atSarahf0305@gmail.com We can't wait to meet you! Primary Color: Red Brown Weight: 56 Age: 3yrs 5mths 3wks

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
We can’t wait for you to meet our deer friend, Elk!!! Elk is a 30-pound adult retriever/lab mix (and he truly is a dear)! He is a sweet, playful boy who is so generous with his kisses! Not only does Elk have a winning personality, but he also exudes subtle style with his white coat and understated spots. If Elk’s silky, expressive ears don’t melt your heart, his precious nose polka dots will! Send in your adoption request today to meet this elk-traordinary polka-dotted pup in person (and admire these silky ears for yourself!)! **Volunteer Dog Walker feedback: "He got along well with all the other dogs/people, loved getting pets when we took breaks. He was interested in all the good smells along the trail, but every now and then he'd look up at me as if to say are we still on the right trail? So cute, such a sweet boy" Weekend Host Feedback: "Elk was such a sweet boy. We have to cats but he showed little to no interest in them and when they came up to him he barley even reacted. He’s great with kids and other dogs and is always down for some play time, but loves a good snuggle. He’s pretty good on walks and loves to chase any leaves blowing by. Elk is fine riding in the car but it’s not his favorite thing. He sleeps fine in his crate but much prefers to snuggle in bed. He’s super trainable and very food motivated and while he was with me we practiced many different useful skills such as sit, stay, and leave it and he picked up on all of them very quickly!"

Story
*** AVAILABLE ON-SITE STARTING WEDNESDAY 1/15 *** Just look at his melt your heart face and stunning good looks!  His personality is just as beautiful.  A nice mix of playful & mellow, timid & bold.  He enjoys romping around with his sister & much larger foster family dogs, entertaining himself with a ball or bone and stretching out on the floor or cuddled with his person for a nap. He is coming along well with potty training, getting used to leash walking and learning some basic commands & manners.   He does fine crated (with his sister, he has not been alone yet), whimpers for a few minutes then settles in. Omaha is somewhat cautious about doing new things, he prefers to watch how it’s done before giving it a try.  He will do best in a home with another dog or human he can follow & learn from.   He is a loving, cuddly bundle of joy waiting for a loving, cuddly forever home.

Story
*** AVAILABLE ON-SITE STARTING WEDNESDAY 1/15 *** This is one gorgeous little girl!  She may appear to be shy or timid at first, but if allowed to explore and get comfortable with the new surroundings/people/pets at her own pace, she becomes very friendly, social, curious & even adventurous.  Cheyenne loves to wrestle with her brother, chase & try to join in with her much larger foster dogs running around the yard, catching blowing leaves and rolling a ball around the house.  She can be quite lively if there is someone to play with and very chill when no one wants to play.  She is progressing well with potty training and learning some basic commands.  Leash walking needs more time, patience & practice for her to feel comfortable with all the new sounds & activity in the neighborhood.  She does well in a crate, may whine for a few minutes but then settles in (note: she has never spent the night without her brother, may fuss some until she adjusts to sleeping alone).   Cheyenne is a very sweet little girl looking for a loving, kind forever home.
