Story
Raisin is ready and eager to learn! She is a sweet puppy and has shown high intelligence! She is food motivated and has learned quickly on how to get her treat. She has been learning how to sit, come, and walk on a leash. It only takes her a few tries to understand your request. She is loves to play with the adult dog in her foster home, as well as with her brother, Squish. Raisin will do best with a family who will set aside some time to stimulate and train so she can show off how smart she is. She has been sleeping well in a crate with her brother. She will need consistent potty breaks of 2-3 hours (she is still a puppy) but she knows not to potty inside if she can help it. She is about to enter her teething phase so limiting her access and keeping so keeping an eye on her so she can be corrected if she starts chewing on something she shouldn't will set her up for success! Overall, she is a dream of a dog as she is eager to love and quick to train!

Wrinkles, Wiggles, and a Whole Lot of Love! Looking for a little apricot-colored sunshine? Meet Dakota! This lovely Shar-Pei mix is a "wrinkle-warrior" who is ready to leave her tough past in the rearview mirror. Dakota is a professional cuddler who believes there is no such thing as too much affection. She’s had a bit of a medical journey—including eye surgery and some spa-day skin treatments—but she’s taking it all in stride with a wagging tail. Dakota’s Stats: • Hobbies: Learning that leashes aren't scary monsters, mastering the art of the crate, and being the fluffiest girl in the room. • Special Skills: Making everyone she meets fall in love instantly. • Goal: Finding a family that will keep up with her training and give her all the head scratches she deserves.

Story
(DOB 10/31/2025) Due to Jia's young age, she has not been spayed yet. For this reason, we are only considering local placement (within a 1-hour drive time of Wake Forest NC).  Jia is the kind of dog who feels like she was made to be part of a big, happy family. With her gentle nature and easygoing personality, she fits right in and that includes kids, cats, other dogs (even smaller ones). She has a natural understanding of how to be soft and respectful with little ones (both human and furry!), making her a wonderful companion in a busy, love-filled home. Jia NEEDS another playful dog in the home to help her burn energy and continue building her social skills. With her affectionate nature and lively spirit, she’ll do best in an active home ready to keep up with her zest for life and provide plenty of enrichment and playtime. This smart and inquisitive girl is always ready to learn something new. Jia is a quick learner who enjoys figuring things out, and her playful curiosity keeps life fun and engaging. Whether she’s exploring her surroundings, joining in on playtime, or simply watching the world go by, she brings a bright, happy energy wherever she goes. Jia has also shown that she handles new situations like a pro. At adoption events and meet-ups, she’s calm, friendly, and well-mannered around unfamiliar animals and people alike. She takes everything in stride and is especially patient and sweet with young children, happily soaking up attention and affection. So don't wait too long because this girl is an amazing catch! At the end of the day, Jia is all about connection and she loves being around her people, getting pets, and joining in on the fun. If you’re looking for a loving, playful, and adaptable pup who will thrive in a lively household, Jia is ready to be your perfect match. As part of Jia’s $325 adoption fee, she will be spayed, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. In addition to the adoption fee, a $100 spay/neuter deposit and puppy spay/neuter agreement will also be required. The deposit will be returned once the puppy is altered. If you have questions about this sweet girl, you can email: Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org. If you wish to adopt Jia, you can complete an application online for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website: www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##2642329##

Story
Raisin is a 6 month old Shar Pei mix with a heart of gold. Raisin was found dumped along side a country road at the age of just 3 months. He was suffering from very dry skin and a painful ear infection, yet all he would do was love on anyone willing to give him just a minute or two of their time. Raisin has been treated for his skin with medicated baths and diet. He was given antibiotics for the ear infection and with a continued at home ear cleaning routine, he has done very well. Raisin has been fully vaccinated, dewormed, neutered and microchipped. Raisin loves everyone he meets, although he may take just a little bit to warm up to them. He does great with other dogs and cats. He currently lives with other dogs weighing from 5 lbs to 140 lbs and plays well with them all. He know he can rough house with the bigger ones and some simple play time for the littles. Raisin is a very good eater and currently gets salmon oil with his meals to keep his skin healthy. He is house and potty trained with no accidents. He goes into his nighttime crate very well, knowing a small treat will follow. He knows sit and he he knows the wait command when being given a treat. He walks great on a leash and does not pull. He loves going on outings to the pet store, Lowes and the park. He rides well in the car and jumps right in. Raisin can be left out for 3-4 hours with no issues. He is currently only crated at night. He lives the play hard sleep hard lifestyle. If he's not wrestling one of his fur buddies or playing tug of war with his rope, you can usually find him curled up on the couch or his doggy bed snoring away. Please be aware of the continued care a Shar Pei tends to involve before putting in your application. Raisin is definitely worth it.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Toby is still looking for a home.  He was found as a stray in April, the owners (located via his chip), couldn’t take him back.  The vet says he’s a Sharpei mix, and estimated to be between 2-4 yrs old.  I have completely vetted him and he is now fully healed from his neuter. His vet care to this point has exceeded $300-but he is in great health and ready for a forever, loving home.  I am keeping him on flea, tick and hw prevention while in my care. Toby is: house trained, takes treats gently, has leash manners, wants to be with someone, loves lap time, enjoys being outside. Toby would love a home without small children (he gets jumpy excited) and someone able to walk him.  A fenced yard isn’t required, but would be nice.  Not sure about shared walls housing since he has a deep bark. We currently keep him separated from my dogs since they are not always nice to others.  We have taken Toby to a park to see his reaction in public. He ignores adults, nub wags at children, but gets jumpy excited when dogs walked by.  When on walks, he shows interest in squirrels, rabbits but is brought back on track with a stern “No”.  When in the fenced yard, he plays and self entertains, and checks to see you’re still there once in awhile. A meet and greet is required and I am asking for a $300 rehoming fee.  He will keep his new bed, new collar and of course his toys to help with his adjustment into a new home.  Please keep in mind dogs may take a few weeks to get settled in a new home.  We could tell Toby had been through a lot and took him about 2 weeks to feel comfortable.  He is now on a “schedule” and responds to “go for a walk”, “ready breakfast”, “ready for supper”, and “ready for bed?”.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 31, 2026, 12:16 pm

Story
Where are my pittie mix lovers? This sweet girl is looking for a place to call home—even a foster home until her forever family finds her. Meet Ginger: She’s been let down time and time again, and her life hasn’t been easy. But despite it all, Ginger is full of love and adores every human she meets. She can get a little annoyed with dogs that aren’t super friendly, but with a calm canine sibling, she does great! Ideally, Ginger would be the only fur baby, but she’s proven she can coexist—she lived happily with a gentle giant and even with two other dogs. Sure, she has that classic pittie energy, but that just makes her fun and full of life! If you’d like to foster Ginger until adoption or give her the forever home she deserves, please reach out. Let’s make her holidays bright! 📧 wilma@usdogcoalition.org
