Story
Libra is a 6-year-old Shar Pei mix with a calm, friendly nature and a tail that never seems to stop wagging -- earning her the nickname “Wiggles.” She recently weaned her two puppies and is now ready to focus on being someone’s beloved companion. It’s clear Libra had a difficult start in life; missing fur around her neck suggests she may have once been chained. Despite that, she remains incredibly happy, social, and resilient, greeting new people with an easygoing confidence and genuine affection. If you're looking for the perfect couch companion, work buddy and sidekick, she's your girl! Everyone that meets her ABSOLUTELY adores her! Libra does wonderfully in her foster home, where she lives peacefully with four cats and two dogs. She would enjoy having a laid-back canine companion who isn’t overly pushy, though she does like to play and enjoys relaxed walks around the neighborhood. A fenced backyard would be a dream for her—somewhere she can explore, lounge, and soak up the sun. She is potty trained, leash trained, and comfortable in a crate when needed and the best car companion. Libra is Heartworm posititve and currently undergoing treatment, which is fully covered by WTAR. She will need daily medication and a period of rest, but she’s an easy patient who takes her pills with peanut butter and is content to take things slow. Libra is simply a kind, adaptable dog who fits easily into a home and brings steady companionship wherever she goes. She’s ready for a second chance and a family to call her own. Adoption Day: February 14th at PetSmart Tysons Corner from 10:00–11:00 AM, an approved adopter must be present to adopt. Some pups may stick around until 11:00 AM for the public event—check our Facebook page closer to the date to see if this pup will be attending the extra fun! ##2581332##

ESTIMATED WEIGHT FULL GROWN: 55 lbs, a healthy weight would be around 50 lbs KNOWN WITH DOGS: Zoey would prefer to be the only pup in your home so she can get all your love and attention. Once she has that, she doesn't see any reason to hang out with other dogs. KNOWN WITH CATS: Zoey had one cat test and did very well, the cat hissed and swatted at her and she backed away KNOWN WITH KIDS: We do not know how Zoey is with kids, though she would prefer to live with older children so they don't get their toys mixed up with hers! She will walk with you until the road ends, and then ask if you can keep going in the opposite direction. KNOWN DISLIKES: Socks, she will eat them. She had to have gastric obstruction surgery, so keep laundry away from her. Having her paws handled. Sharing things with other dogs. Having her stuff taken away without proper warning. ABOUT THIS ANIMAL: Zoey – Queen of Quirks, Collector of Hearts, Absolute Icon 👑 There are dogs… and then there’s Zoey. A 9-year-old Shar Pei mix with dramatic rolls, a flair for the fabulous, and the energy of a retired lounge singer who still insists on being called “Miss Zoey.” She didn’t choose the princess life — it chose her. Zoey lived a pampered, adoring life until her beloved owner passed away, and she suddenly found herself in the shelter. Heartbroken and confused, Zoey was understandably unsure at first. But after some time (and a generous supply of booty scratches), she emerged from her royal chambers ready for the extravagance she deserves! Let’s break down this living legend: ✨ Spayed & vaccinated – Because royalty comes fully vetted. ✨ Potty trained – Obviously. Zoe would never. ✨ Walks? Yes, but don’t expect cardio. ✨ Booty scratches? Mandatory. They’re written into her imaginary prenup. ✨ Table scraps? Must be delivered by hand. No notes. ✨ Loves older people? Obsessed. She thrives in the warm energy of people who understand that life’s better at a slower pace. ✨ Rescue favorite? Has her own fan club. Zoey is full of quirks. She has opinions. She likes her snacks a certain way. She will absolutely assist with your emails by lying on your laptop. She is equal parts snuggle bug, sass machine, and nap expert. She’s not here for drama — she is the drama, but in a deeply lovable, “you’re never lonely again” kind of way. She wants all of your attention, and may not be interested in sharing it with other dogs! Her ideal home? Peaceful, loving, chicken-forward. She’d thrive with someone who enjoys the golden-hour slowness of life, a few leisurely walks a day, and possibly sharing their sandwich (willingly or not). Even at her age, Zoey loves toys, and she loves people who let her play with her toys in her space, and offer appropriate trades when Toy Time is done. Zoey has known deep love — and she’s ready to give it again. If you’re looking for a loyal, hilarious, slightly bougie best friend who’s already perfected the art of living her best life… Zoey is waiting. Story
Dalgom is a 5-year-old mix. We rescued him from a shelter when he was just a little puppy and have lovingly raised him ever since. He is incredibly affectionate and loves giving kisses, playing with toys, and enjoying a good game of tug-of-war. He is wonderful with people and fully house trained. He thrives on human attention and bonds closely with his family. While he is great with people, he can be selective around other dogs and may do best as the only pet in the home. He has been great around our infant baby, but we have limited experience with older children. We have so many cherished memories with him, but due to recent life changes, we have not been able to give him the time and attention he truly deserves. We are hoping to find a loving, stable home that can provide as much (or even more) love and care as we have, with plenty of time to spend with him.

Story
Meet Danny Boy! He has a heart of gold and a real penchant for couch snuggles. Danny is built around a head of truly remarkable scrunchy proportions ~ an architectural achievement that then required the installation of two enormous satellite-dish ears to properly stabilize it. The result is an ear span so impressive it occasionally receives signals from rooms he is not currently in. And yet, for all that heavy equipment, Danny uses it almost exclusively to listen for kind words and compliments. Danny is soft, affectionate, and deeply committed to earning as many gold stars in a day as possible. He believes couches were invented for shared sitting, beds for shared sleeping, and personal space for other families who don’t live here. He loves being pet and prefers staying close to his humans. His top criteria for his forever home is that his humans be home with him most of the time and love snuggling as much as possible. Danny enjoys walks (ideally about 20-minute ones) and loves meeting new people when he's out and about. He does a happy dance complete with prancing when his foster mom takes his leash out, or when he's about to be fed. He especially loves treats and wet food. Danny is living with both another dog and a cat in his foster home. He gets along well with both of them, though he doesn't show much interest in them unless they initate sniffing or play. He also gets along beautifully with children, walks well on the leash, and is a great copilot in the car. Danny has made excellent progress on his housetraining, although he is still using potty pads some of the time. He sleeps well through the night (and a decent portion of the day!). He doesn't mind staying home if his people have to go out for a bit, but he would much rather you be home with him. Danny is currently recovering from an ear infection and exposure to some tick-borne illnesses, but treatment is fairly straightforward and both issues should soon resolve. His vision and hearing are no longer 100% but he gets around fairly well. He does have some trouble navigating stairs, so he may need a helping hand if his forever home has them. If you'd like every morning to begin with two enormous ears slowly rising over the horizon (covers) at the sound of their favorite person waking up, Danny is your man. Danny is approximately 12 years old and 60 lbs. Fostered in Dunn Loring, VA Please apply at MirisHaven.org

Story
I rescued Luigi (used to be named Charm) from my ex’s sister and her boyfriend that did not treat him well. They would hit him really hard, keep him locked up in a cage that was way too small for him, and feed him anything but dog food. He was around 5-6 months old. They were living in the basement of someones home that did not allow them to have dogs, so whenever he would bark or make noise (like puppies do….) they would hit him really hard until he cried. He had infections, hematomas, and marks on him. I got him on a plan and got him healthy again in just a few months. He is now up to date on all his shots and recently got neutered at the beginning of the year. I would love to keep him, but Luigi is a VERY energetic and athletic dog. He is very hyper and needs to be with someone that can run and play with him all day. He LOVES toys and people. I have a time consuming job and dont have time for him like i wish. I am also willing to drive to you with all supplies
