Story
Hi, my name is Eddie and I would love to meet you. I have been at the shelter since May 06, 2023. “Play” is my middle name! Fetch, tug-of-war, frisbee – I’ve done my research and I love it all! Playing together and having fun, followed by curling up at your feet or on the couch would be my absolute ideal day.

Story
MEET HUCKLEBERRY! This adorable 10-year-old Shar-Pei mix (possibly mixed with lab) will surely melt your heart! Huck is still looking for his forever home. He is a dog with special needs, sort of. He came from California more than a year ago and was possibly a semi-feral dog, stuck out in a backyard with no chance for socializing. He has come out of his shell somewhat with his foster mom, who gives him lots of treats, love, and care. He has been in a long-term foster home with a large fenced yard and other dogs around him. Other dogs comfort him and he feels best when he is secure in his surroundings, so going forward, he will need a similar situation in order to flourish. Initially he was fearful of being approached and touched, though he's never been aggressive in response. But over time, he came to love his foster mom, accept treats and pets from her, and fall in love with his dog siblings. He shares his bed with the other dogs, follows them around the yard, and loves meal time! Every night, he sleeps in his bed in his foster mom's bedroom and loves to be surrounded by his furry family. Anytime his foster mom comes home, he jumps from excitement! Huck will likely never be a lap dog. But he is a companion who likes his space and learns to trust over time. He has a sweet disposition, and needs the right long-term foster or adopter to help him continue to make meaningful steps forward. He needs a person who will accept him for who he is while continuing to work with him, and a person who has a fenced yard, so walks won't be necessary (though certainly can become a goal). He also needs someone who has another dog or two that he can befriend - ideally mellow, easy-going who doesn't mind a shadow. He also needs someone who doesn't mind transporting him to the vet/groomer in a crate, and who can work with a vet since Huck must be sedated for most vet visits.  Huck also has an older elbow injury ins his left leg, so he walks with a bit of a wobble because of that. The surgery is too extensive for this stage of Huck's life, so he takes pain medication to help manage it. He still leads an active and happy life.  Can you open your home and heart to Huckleberry? Story
HI - I'M BOO BOO! I'm a 6-year-old purebred black Shar Pei in need of a new home. I'm a sweet and funny girl who would do well in a home as an only dog or with a submissive dog. I'm currently in a foster home in Washington with other dog, and a cat, too. But I will chase outdoor cats. It's possible I was abused before my rescue from a California shelter, because I'm missing a few teeth and my hip bothers me now and then (vet points to an old injury). But other than that I'm a sweet girl who would love to be doted on and taken for walks and other outings. I really love people, and will be loyal and devoted to my person once adopted, and will respect and guard them for the rest of my life. I love going to the groomer and I love getting my back scratched! I also love to sleep on the bed, if you'll let me. I weigh only about 41 lbs. Please email for an application.

Story
Animal Profile: Bella Bae is an estimated 7 year old, 35 lb spayed female Sharpei mix originally rescued from an overcrowded shelter in Harlingen, TX. According to her Texas foster, she is a very tidy, sweet and calm indoor dog. She is not barky or jumpy. She has a good energy level for her age, does get zoomies in the yard still and loves her walkies. She has been fostered in a home with other dogs and done great even though one of the residents is a bit reactive (he accepted her quickly). She's overall a sweet and friendly girl. More info to come as we get to know her in foster care.  Foster Update:  Bella is the sweetest and gentlest girl! She has yet to meet a human she doesn't like and she is particularly fond of kids.    Don't let her age fool you, Bella is happiest when she's out walking. She can easily walk 2+ miles at a time and would likely make a fantastic jogging buddy. Once home, she'll nap next to you on the couch for hours.   Bella is a confident pup who isn't afraid of loud noises. She's shown no reaction to fireworks or sirens. She is great at going in her kennel and is generally quiet when left home alone.   Bella is untested with cats, but loves to chase squirrels (see photo), so will need to meet any potential feline friends.   All Bella really wants is a soft bed, yummy food, plenty of time to sniff outside, and a human of her own to shower in kisses.  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550, which includes spay/neuter, current vaccinations per AVMA standards, microchip, negative heartworm test if over 6 months, and health certificate. Your donation may be tax deductible as DG is a 501c3 organization. Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was transferred from our rescue partner Austin Pets Alive and arriving to Seattle area foster care on Thursday 2/9/23. This dog will be fostered in the greater Seattle area and available for adoption once evaluated.June 8, 2023, 1:40 pm

Story
Meet adorable and active Annie! This Lurcher girl is between 5- 6 years old and was rescued by the American Lurcher Project. Annie weighs approximately 60 pounds. She is a very energetic girl and definitely needs a house with a yard. Annie is outgoing, intelligent and mischievous! Annie is food- motivated food and loves her blankets and playing. Annie adores her chin scratches and everything outdoors. She’ll make a great exercise partner as she digs walking, running and hiking. Annie needs a high energy adopter like herself. Annie lived in a very small apartment and even though the people walked her 3 to 5 miles a day, they just couldn’t wear her out. Annie needs to be an only dog because she is way too energetic for most other dogs and plays very roughly. Annie should not go to a home with children. She is a resource guarder and sees the children as competition for her things and food. Annie also has Separation Anxiety that had improved before the Pandemic but now that everyone is home all the time, she is back to square one. The owners did work with a behaviorist and some behaviors have improved. Bless her little heart, Annie likely has some of these issues as she was confined to a very small space all the time. Annie is such a great girl and really deserves a chance! Annie is very routine oriented and can be anxious if the routine is disturbed. She responds well to mental stimulation as well as physical. And that’s a great way to wear her out! Annie would be a great agility dog or some other activity that really makes her think. Miss Annie is ready to meet you at Greyhound Pets in Woodinville. She is spayed, vaccinated and micro-chipped. For questions, please email Moira at fastpaws1998@gmail.com or for an adoption application, go to: https://www.greyhoundpetsinc.org/adopt/adoption-guide/. You really have to meet this outgoing and truly amazing girl!

Story
Juniper is a happy, friendly, adorable lab mix. She is affectionate and playful. Juniper loves to play ball, fetch and hang out with you or play in the yard. She loves attention and loves to give kisses. Juniper is a bit shy, but will warm up quickly and bond with you fast. She is so eager to please and can’t wait to go on adventures with you. Juniper will need a home with a fenced yard as she is active and young. Juniper found herself as a young pup in a shelter in California. She was adopted and then dumped at another shelter after she was hit by a car. Juniper was fortunately rescued by Greyhound Pets in Woodinville even though she’s definitely NOT a greyhound mix. Juniper is beyond darling and is so deserving of a true forever home. She has a slight head tilt (adorable) and has some hip dysplasia but now she is absolutely happy and playful and has a great future ahead of her. Juniper is a gentle, sweet soul and has a coat like a Labrador or short coated Golden Retriever. And while her "greyhound" roots are not to be found, she is an adorable member of our GPI family and we can't wait to find this darling girl her forever home. Please email Moira at fastpaws1998@gmail.com for an application and more information. Story
Lilly is an upbeat and super friendly 4-year-old beauty. Lilly loves being active and loves the outdoors and is all about playtime. Lilly likes being around people, but has a high prey drive so needs to be the only dog in the home. Lilly will also need a home with a fenced yard and without cats. Due to her prey drive, we do not recommend Lilly for a home with young children. Older kids are good because they can play with her and exercise her. Lilly is very eager to learn and enjoys doing training and working with our volunteers/trainer. She would be a great candidate for agility. Lilly’s adoption includes training sessions with our trainer. Any questions, please email Moira at fastpaws1998@gmail.com.
