Story
My name is Gilgu, and I'm a 5-year-old Shar Pei boy in search of my forever home. I'm a true people-lover. Whether you're a familiar face or a brand new friend, I greet everyone with a wagging tail and a heart full of warmth. Despite not having much experience with walks, I'm a quick learner. While I may not have mastered the art of leash etiquette yet, I'm enthusiastic about exploring the world around me. Barking unnecessarily isn't my style. Other dogs? I'm not overly concerned about them. Instead, I'd rather focus on enjoying our time together. Now, let's talk about my quirks. I'm still learning the whole house training thing. Sometimes I get a little confused about where to take care of my business, but with your patient guidance, I know I'll improve. It's worth noting that I've undergone a few eye surgeries due to my Shar Pei genetics. Occasionally, my eyes get a bit red, but it's not a serious issue. I absolutely adore mealtime. I might let out a few excited barks and finish my meal rather quickly. If you're seeking a loving companion who's ready to embark on a journey of friendship, growth, and lots of tail wags, I'm your guy. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLIsLTtIpe3JwdaLP6wYWZDUWdtrvyC6dR

Story
Greetings, I'm Mint, an 8-month-old girl with a mix. My journey began when I was just a 2-week-old baby, arriving at the city shelter along with my seven siblings and loving Mom. I bring a delightful and sociable spirit with me. One of my brothers found a loving home in Seattle through fostering, and it was love at first sight for his foster family. We're a charming bunch! Yet, the rest of my siblings, including myself, are still at the city shelter, facing the risk of euthanasia. All of us are a delightful blend of friendly, funny, and undeniably cute. Strength? That's a matter of perspective. I consider myself innocent and gentle, always eager for playful adventures. Food is a joy, but I'm no guard—sharing with friends is more my style. My energy level is moderate, and I enjoy playtime with pals while maintaining a calm demeanour indoors. Petting me is a breeze, and my wobbly tail is a testament to my happiness. I'm the epitome of cheerfulness—always ready with a wagging tail, especially when making eye contact. If you're in search of a bright and cheerful companion, look no further—meet me and let's create a beautiful bond! Story
Hello, I'm Bay, an adorable 8-month-old SharPei mix boy eagerly awaiting my forever home. My journey began at the city shelter when I was just a 2-week-old baby, accompanied by my loving Mom and seven siblings. While one of my seven siblings found a happy home through fostering, I and my other siblings are still at the city shelter, facing the risk of euthanasia. Each one of us embodies a friendly, funny, and endearing spirit. Picture this: lovely chocolate fur, long legs adorned with white socks, and eyes that exude innocence, much like a baby angel. I'm a social butterfly, adoring people so much that I'll gladly sit on a stranger's lap upon our first meeting. Playing with friends is a delight for me, and if I discover a cherished toy, I'll quietly retreat to a corner to enjoy it. My nature is gentle and kind; even if friends approach me while I'm with my toys, I'll simply relocate without any fuss or growls. If you're seeking a puppy friend to always bring a smile to your face and shower you with love, then I'm the perfect companion. Consider adopting me, and I promise to become a cherished and lovable member of your family. Let's create a beautiful bond and fill your home with joy and love together. Story
Animal Profile: Bella Bae is an estimated 7-year-old, 35 lb spayed female Shar Pei mix.  She was originally rescued from an overcrowded shelter in Harlingen, TX. According to her Texas foster, she is a very sweet and calm indoor dog. She is not barky or jumpy. She has plenty of energy for her age and still get the zoomies  loves long walks. She was fostered in a home with other dogs and got along great even though one of the residents is a bit reactive (he accepted her quickly). She's overall a sweet and friendly girl. Foster Update: Bella is the sweetest and gentlest girl! She has yet to meet a human she doesn't like and she is particularly fond of kids. Don't let her age fool you, Bella is happiest when she's out walking. She can easily walk 2+ miles at a time and would likely make a fantastic jogging partner. Back home, she'll nap next to you on the couch for hours. Bella is a confident gal who isn't afraid of loud noises; she doesn't react to fireworks or sirens. She is great at going in her crate and quiet when left home alone.  Like most dogs, she loves to chase squirrels (see photo),  Given she has some prey instinct, she would need to meet any potential feline housemates to test for compatibility.  What this lovely lady really wants and deserves is a soft bed, yummy food, plenty of time to sniff outside, and a human of her own to shower in kisses. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550, which includes spay/neuter, current vaccinations per AVMA standards, microchip, negative heartworm test if over 6 months, and health certificate. Your donation may be tax deductible as DG is a 501c3 organization. Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was transferred from our rescue partner Austin Pets Alive and arrived in Seattle on Thursday 2/9/23. This dog is being fostered in the greater Seattle area and available for adoption.October 2, 2023, 10:01 am

Story
MEET HUCKLEBERRY! This adorable 10-year-old Shar-Pei mix (possibly mixed with lab) will surely melt your heart! Huck is still looking for his forever home. He is a dog with special needs, sort of. He came from California more than a year ago and was possibly a semi-feral dog, stuck out in a backyard with no chance for socializing. He has come out of his shell somewhat with his foster mom, who gives him lots of treats, love, and care. He has been in a long-term foster home with a large fenced yard and other dogs around him. Other dogs comfort him and he feels best when he is secure in his surroundings, so going forward, he will need a similar situation in order to flourish. Initially he was fearful of being approached and touched, though he's never been aggressive in response. But over time, he came to love his foster mom, accept treats and pets from her, and fall in love with his dog siblings. He shares his bed with the other dogs, follows them around the yard, and loves meal time! Every night, he sleeps in his bed in his foster mom's bedroom and loves to be surrounded by his furry family. Anytime his foster mom comes home, he jumps from excitement! Huck will likely never be a lap dog. But he is a companion who likes his space and learns to trust over time. He has a sweet disposition, and needs the right long-term foster or adopter to help him continue to make meaningful steps forward. He needs a person who will accept him for who he is while continuing to work with him, and a person who has a fenced yard, so walks won't be necessary (though certainly can become a goal). He also needs someone who has another dog or two that he can befriend - ideally mellow, easy-going who doesn't mind a shadow. He also needs someone who doesn't mind transporting him to the vet/groomer in a crate, and who can work with a vet since Huck must be sedated for most vet visits.  Huck also has an older elbow injury ins his left leg, so he walks with a bit of a wobble because of that. The surgery is too extensive for this stage of Huck's life, so he takes pain medication to help manage it. He still leads an active and happy life.  Can you open your home and heart to Huckleberry? Please email for an application.
