Age: 5 Weight: 65 Dog friendly: Yes Cat friendly: Unknown Kid friendly: Yes Potty trained: Yes Crate trained: Yes Adoption fee:$425 Hi! My name is Jack Sparrow! You can call me Captain, but my friends just call me Jack. I am a big hunk of love! I spent a whole year locked up in the brig in a land locked place called Missouri. I am not really sure how I ended up there and why no one came to spring me from my jail. The pound was all full and I was next on the list to walk the plank! Luckily, a kind woman said she would take me in and I was brought up to Minnesota. I am glad to be in the land of 10,000 lakes! I am crate trained and potty trained. I get along great with my foster dog friends. I really want to be a lap dog and try to climb into my moms lap all the time. All I really want to do is get love and give kisses. After a year on the hard cold floor, I really enjoy sleeping with my human teenager on her comfy bed! I also really like treats! I sit for them and take them very gently. If you are looking for a sweet soul who is just a little bit of a scallywag and really wants to be loved, come give me a chance! I will sail my way into your heart!

Story
Age: 10 months Weight: 42 lbs Dog friendly: Yes, requires a confident companion dog in the home Cat friendly: Yes Kid friendly: Yes. Older/Considerate would be best Potty trained: Yes Crate trained: Yes **REQUIRED**: A confident dog within the home Adoption fee: $395 🖤 Meet Hemlock: 9 Months Old, Suspiciously Adorable Hemlock was born in rescue. He was socialized. He has met plenty of people. We have explained to him repeatedly that humans are generally fine. Hemlock remains unconvinced😂 It’s not that he doesn’t like people — he LOVES people. He just needs a minute to determine what exactly your intentions are. Why are you looking at him? Why are you walking over here? What’s in your hand? Why did you move that chair? Has anyone actually done a background check on you? Hemlock prefers to sit back, observe, and conduct his own investigation before agreeing to participate. But once he decides you’re safe? Oh, you’re screwed. 😂 The independent gentleman who needed his personal space suddenly becomes a giant Velcro baby. Going to the bathroom? Hemlock. Getting a snack? Hemlock. Moving six feet across the room? Interesting development — Hemlock will be accompanying you. He absolutely loves his people and wants to be wherever they are, preferably with the rest of the pack nearby too. Hemlock does great with dogs of all sizes, and another confident dog in his forever home is a must. He doesn’t need a bossy CEO who is going to micromanage him — he needs a socially competent emotional-support coworker. Someone who can casually reassure him, “Dude, it’s a garbage truck. We’re fine.” He takes a lot of cues from the dogs around him, and having a confident buddy helps him remember that the world is actually pretty fun. Hemlock has also spent time around our 5-year-old grandson and does really well with him. His preferred strategy for dealing with small-child chaos is extremely reasonable: leave. 😂 When the tiny tornado comes barreling through, Hemlock simply removes himself from the path of destruction and finds somewhere quieter to hang out. Honestly, excellent judgment. No notes. He’s good with cats too, although he does occasionally bark at them. We assume this is because someone needs to question their motives as well. He doesn’t chase them — he just files verbal complaints from a respectful distance. One place Hemlock feels especially comfortable is the car. He LOVES car rides and is perfectly happy cruising around and watching the world go by from the safety of his seat. His forever family will need to keep gently exposing him to new people, places, and experiences so he can continue building his confidence. He doesn’t need someone to toss him into the deep end and demand that he “get over it.” He needs someone who will keep bringing him along, let him watch when he needs to watch, and show him that new things usually turn out okay. Hemlock is crate trained, shared walls are fine, and he does not require a fenced yard. He does require another confident-but-not-dominant dog in the home. Cats are okay, kids are okay, and strangers will be subjected to a brief but thorough Hemlock security screening. Give him a little time, keep showing him the world, and let him figure you out at his own pace. Quickly, he’ll decide you’re one of his people. And then good luck getting this giant baby off you🖤😂

Age: 3 yr Weight: 51 lbs Dog friendly: Yes Cat friendly: Unknown Kid friendly: Yes, Older/considerate kids Potty trained: Yes Crate trained: Does well being left loose in the home Adoption fee: $325 Meet Zena! Zena is a 3‑year‑old pit bull/bully mix with a big heart and an even bigger personality. This affectionate, loyal girl will surprise you with her wit, athleticism, and curiosity. She loves to swim (yes, really!), go for walks, ride in the car (she’s handled several road trips!), and romp around with other pups at the dog park. Zena also enjoys snuggling up with her human(s), napping with a bone, and watching the world go by through the windows of her home. Playful and bright, Zena loves learning new things - especially when treats are involved. She’s always up for fun and adventure, whether joining you on a hike or curling up beside you after a long day. She’s at her best when she can roam freely around the house. Zena alternates between sleeping with her human(s) and curling up on the couch or in her own bed. She has a history of separation anxiety, but since starting the right medication and working with a behaviorist, she’s improved immensely. Zena needs slow introductions - with plenty of treats - when strangers enter the home (she’s comfortable meeting new people in public). She may be nervous at first, but it doesn’t take long for her to warm up and form a deep, trusting bond. Her new family will also receive support from her behaviorist during the transition to her new home. Zena is an adaptable, loving companion who’s ready to share her enthusiasm and affection with a family that will cherish her playful spirit and loyal heart.
