Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Argo is a gentle, affectionate australian shepherd mix with a calm, easygoing personality and the softest, most soulful eyes. At 70+ pounds, he’s a large boy with a big heart and a wonderfully mellow temperament. He loves everyone he meets and is fantastic with other dogs—so much so that the Arkansas shelter used him as their “tester dog” because of his steady, friendly nature. He’s neutered, fully potty trained, and crate trained—as long as it’s a wire crate. (He’s a bit of a Houdini with plastic ones!) When he’s tired, he’ll put himself to bed and snooze peacefully. Argo loves playing fetch, chasing his foster brother around the yard, and enjoying toys and walks. He’s gentle, intelligent, eager to please, and knows several commands including sit, come, shake, and kennel. Argo would love with a fenced yard, where he can safely enjoy outdoor playtime. He’s slightly active with a moderate energy level—happy to romp and play, but also content to relax and be a lap‑leaning companion. He takes treats very gently and is a quiet dog who rarely barks. He can be sensitive to unexpected movement on walks, especially things like bikes and skateboards, and may try to chase. He’ll do best with a confident handler who can provide guidance and help him feel secure. He’s friendly with adults and great with other dogs. He hasn’t been tested with cats or young kids, but because he gets excited to see his people and may softly jump up, he’d do best with older or considerate children (10+). He is still figuring out that men in hats are friendly too, and is working on getting over that fear. He could be an only dog as long as his humans are home most of the time, but he truly enjoys canine companionship and would love a friendly dog buddy in his new home. Argo is a sweet, even‑tempered, loving dog who brings warmth and joy wherever he goes. He’s the kind of companion who fits easily into your life and makes every day a little brighter. Whoever adopts him will be incredibly lucky to call him family. Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.    ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. Story
Welcome Jack to CCPAL Rescue. Jack is a 4-month-old German Shepherd Pup. He weighs about 35 pounds and he has some really wonky ears. They should be upright sometime soon. He bonds very deeply to his human and follows her around everywhere. He is good in his crate and good with other dogs. He is smart and wants to learn. He is still very clumsy and very much puppy, even though he is pretty big. His dad was around 100 pounds. Jack may be 75 pounds full grown is our best guess. He was found on the side of the road that someone was giving them away or going to take them to the pound. CCPAL took the girl and the boy puppy. Our guess a breeder or something. Jack goes potty outside. He will take a bath but doesn’t like the blowdryer much. He has a medium length coat with some waviness on the hair near his back and back legs. He is a big baby boy, even if he does look like he will have a fierce look. He would be great with children. We like them to be 8 or older. Someone that doesn’t work all day everyday is best for a puppy. He needs to finish his puppy training and he also will be best in a home with someone that knows GSD need physical and mental stimulation to be happy. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is $600 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Dorito is a Catahoula Leopard Dog/Pit Bull mix with the most unforgettable satellite ears — they perk, flop, and tilt with every new sound, making his sweet expressions even more charming. He’s the perfect mix of playful puppy energy and cuddly affection. This boy is smart, eager to please, and already showing how quickly he learns. Dorito knows sit and down, is doing great with potty training when kept on a schedule, and is fully crate trained — he sleeps soundly through the night without a peep. He’s also walking nicely on a leash and improving every day. At home, Dorito is playful, curious, and full of personality. He loves squeaky toys, chasing games, tug‑of‑war, and will happily work for treats. After playtime, he’s just as content curling up for snuggles and soaking up affection. He’s wonderfully even‑tempered, gentle, and great with small children in his foster home. Dorito is friendly with everyone he meets and would thrive in a home ready for all the fun (and responsibility!) that comes with raising a growing puppy. He’s affectionate, goofy, and incredibly loving — the kind of pup who bonds deeply with his people. If you’re looking for a clever, cuddly best friend with the cutest ears around, Dorito is ready to tune his heart to yours. **Obedience classes are required when adopting this puppy from Underdog Rescue. Many of our puppies have a mama who was not properly socialized before coming to Underdog Rescue. Since coming to Underdog, this puppy has been in a socialized and loving home, but that needs to be continued with its Adopters. Training classes teach puppies the ins and outs of being a pet while creating a bond with their new Adopter. Obedience classes are key to creating a relationship with your puppy while having it be a happy and successful member of society. Proof of Obedience Class registration is required for this puppy before adoptions can be finalized. If you would like some suggestions, we would be happy to send some trainers who have experience with Underdog Rescue, but a Basic Obedience class in your area should work! This fee must be paid within 24 hours, or your application will be considered void.  We will not review or contact applicants that have not completed the payment portion.   Puppy Applications will be responded to within 5 business days, after receipt of the application fee.  Please understand that paying the fee does not guarantee you will be approved to adopt the puppy. Our goal is to place puppies in homes that are suited for their individual needs. You may be willing and able to provide a great home, but if it doesn’t meet the specific needs of the puppy, we will not approve your application. We accept applications for puppies until we have a candidate that meets all of the requirements needed for the specific puppy and they have been contacted to review the adoption process as well as agree to all of the terms to move forward. ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up.
