You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Keep checking back for upcoming events I will be attending!         Reptar is a floppy-pawed, old-soul-in-a-puppy-body sweetheart who seems convinced that the world is his playground and every living creature is his new best friend. He has a face that says “I’ve seen things,” paired with the joyful enthusiasm of a baby who absolutely has not. He adores cuddling his foster mom, chasing his puppy foster sister around the yard, and proudly parading his squeaky toys like trophies of great importance. His favorite hobby might actually be staring deeply into your eyes as if he’s reading your aura, followed immediately by forgetting what he was doing and zooming off to chase something imaginary. He’s friendly with every human and dog he’s ever met, and while he hasn’t been tested with cats, he gives off “gentle giant in training” energy, so odds are good he’d love them too. Reptar is working on kennel training, though right now he treats his crate like a place where deep philosophical thoughts (and, unfortunately, poops) happen. He freezes on a leash like he’s suddenly forgotten how legs work, but he’s slowly figuring out the whole walking thing. He’s potty trained with both pads and the yard, loves the freedom of a fence, and will absolutely benefit from a canine buddy, especially one who can match his goofy young-dog vibe. He’s affectionate, playful, even-tempered, and has mastered the elegant art of sitting quietly beside you until you notice how cute he is and start petting him. Reptar is an incredible little soul who’s growing into an amazing dog. He’s tender, silly, wise in his own strange puppy way, and ready to become someone’s loyal, lovable, slightly dramatic forever friend. **Obedience classes are required when adopting this puppy from Underdog Rescue. Many of our puppies have a mama who was not properly socialized before coming to Underdog Rescue. Since coming to Underdog, this puppy has been in a socialized and loving home, but that needs to be continued with its Adopters. Training classes teach puppies the ins and outs of being a pet while creating a bond with their new Adopter. Obedience classes are key to creating a relationship with your puppy while having it be a happy and successful member of society. Proof of Obedience Class registration is required for this puppy before adoptions can be finalized. If you would like some suggestions, we would be happy to send some trainers who have experience with Underdog Rescue, but a Basic Obedience class in your area should work! Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.  This puppy requires an application fee. This fee must be paid within 24 hours or your application will be considered void.  We will not review or contact applicants that have not completed the payment portion.   Puppy Applications will be responded to within 5 business days, after receipt of the application fee.  Please understand that paying the fee does not guarantee you will be approved to adopt the puppy. Our goal is place puppies in homes that are suited for their individual needs. You may be willing and able to provide a great home, but if it doesn’t meet the specific needs of the puppy, we will not approve your application. We accept applications for puppies until we have a candidate that meets all of the requirements needed for the specific puppy and they have been contacted to review the adoption process as well as agree to all of the terms to move forward. ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. He’s currently learning to walk on a leash and doing great for his age. Beignet gets along wonderfully with other dogs and would love a canine buddy to play with. Cats are unknown, but he’s gentle and happy around children, making him a great family companion. If you’re looking for a loyal, energetic, and affectionate friend to join your adventures, Beignet is your guy! 💙 He is still in the puppy stage and will need someone to continue training basic commands. If you would like to add this boy to your family, please message us and we will send you an adoption application. Story
Lois is an amazing dog who is looking for her perfect home!! Would you ever imagine that this adorable smiling face had ever been anything but happy?! She seems to have forgotten her past (which was the too often sad story of a mom and her puppies struggling to survive) and is ready for her time in the spotlight. She's been waiting over a year and a half for her chance! Lois is an outgoing, friendly, playful, athletic, bubbly, energetic, happy-go-lucky girl who truly loves playing with her friends. She’s had a few different dog friends (all boys) that she’s played with and she is always up for a game of chase with some zoomies. No girl dogs for her, or cats. She really needs an active household. She’ll keep everyone entertained! Her big smile is just too contagious. Besides a family of her own, Lois also needs a secure, fenced yard. She’s quite the athlete and she likes to show off her athletic prowess. So we want to make sure that she stays safe! Lois is a great size - around 40-45 lb. She’s probably in the 2-3 year old range. She’ll be an amazing dog for the right home! This animal is being fostered in the South but transport to a location near you is included in your adoption fee. We use Rescue Riders Pet Transport, (www.rescueridersllc.net), the most animal-friendly transport on the road.

Kobalt is such a great boy! Looks at his gorgeous face and eyes! He is so quiet in his kennel. He loves to go on walks and explore. He is learning to not pull on a leash, but it is so hard because he loves his time out of the kennel. He gets along with other dogs and wants to meet everyone. He is a lover and will make a great companion. He needs someone that can spend time with him and give him the best home. He sure does deserve it all! His adoption fee is $250 and is currently in Tennessee. He can be transported. We use Rescue Riders Pet Transport, (rescueridersllc.net), the most animal-friendly transport on the road.

Story
Meet Diesel! Diesel is an amazing boy who is good with kids, other dogs, and can be cat tested! He is around 5 years old and weighs 71 lbs. He has always lived outside but we believe he could be trained to live indoors with some patience and a routine. Two of our fellow non-profit contacts found him hobbling along without any use of his back legs while they were out driving in Sweetwater, TN. They pulled over and upon speaking with his owners, found out that he was hit by a car over 2 weeks prior. Unfortunately, his family could not afford to take him to the vet to examine his injuries or figure out how to best support his mobility needs and they agreed to surrender him to our rescue! He saw the vet on May 14th 2024 and we learned that his back was broken in two places. We were originally told that he was likely paralyzed and will likely not regain function of his two back legs. The vet also discovered that Diesel was Heartworm positive. Since then, he underwent the fast-kill method to kill the Heartworms and has completed his treatment after 30 days of rest! One of our amazing followers also donated the funds to get Diesel a custom wheelchair! This wheelchair will follow him to his forever home! Diesel is nothing short of a miracle and we are so excited to finally find a loving home for him. Diesel had is reevaluation on Jan 15th, 2025 at 10am. Diesel will still need his wheelchair at times, however, he can go short distances without it. He will need his wheelchair when he is getting fatigued. If he is going on long walks, he will need it and when he is outside playing for a while. At this time, we are working with him gradually to get him to use his wheelchair less and less. there may be days or a month, where he may not need to use it at all. but, we are not there yet. Diesel has gotten part of his tail amputated due to him chewing on it. UT thinks there may have been some tingling sensations going on in his tail that was bothering him from the back injury. However, it's truly unknown because a perfectly healthy dog will do the same thing. He is scheduled to go in on Wednesday , Jan, 22, 2025 to get part of it amputated. We are only going to schedule a very small amount taken off first and then see how he does after. Since dogs use their tails to balance, it's important to not take too much at once. While we have him marked as good with kids, please keep in mind that he is a pit mix, he likes to use his mouth allot to give kisses. He also does "love bites". He will use his tongue and open and close his mouth so fast that his teeth will come in contact, just a tad. What we like to do is sit on the floor with him to love on him. When we do this, he will lick our face or hand or wherever ( adults at this time have been allowed to sit down with him). He has licked the founders chin and had his teeth touch her as well. its never been out of nothing but love. He just has a smile on his face 24/7 when he gives "love kisses". He has never left a mark, but you can feel them. It may scare a child, if they are not use to it. Additionally, We do have his x-rays and all information from UT in our email and would be happy to show you for further explanation. If he is put on transport (not ideal) , he would need time to relax /recoup from the long drive. If you are able to come pick him up, that would be best so he can get out and stretch more frequently during the travel. He absolutely loves car rides and just to be with you! it is discouraged that he is paws up on anything like coming up to your waist to get closer for loves for example. This is so he doesn't slip and reinjure himself. He is healed to the point of it being ok, but there is always that possibility of him slipping. We can teach you how to put him in and out of his wheelchair. at this time he is in his wheelchair now is about 10 minutes if he is out playing for an hour or so. We are working towards a longer and longer time for him to just be on his own. He does not need his wheelchair inside or when he is just walking short distances, Its strictly just for fatigue at this point. If he is out playing, and is able to relax and rest, he wont need it. If you are out on a walk, and he is getting tired, he will need it if you plan on continuing the walk. ********************************************************************************************************* UT notes: -------------------- MEDICAL RECORD UT VTH CLIENT DISCHARGE INSTRUCTIONS ----- NOTE DATED: 01/15/2025 11:41 DISCHARGE INSTRUCTIONS (34-49-56) DIESEL DR. L5-L6 fracture/luxation (healed) 2. Tail trauma with end/tip necrosis Weight: 32.3 kgs (71 lbs.) ================================================================= ============ CASE SUMMARY: Diesel presented to the UTCVM Rehabilitation Service today for rear wheel cart evaluation. On presentation, he was bright and alert, and all vitals were within normal limits. He was taken in by the rescue around June/July 2024 and noted to have issues dragging his back legs about 2 weeks prior. His physical exam findings today included some dry skin and areas of hair loss along his ankles. He also had severe trauma to his distal tail where the tip has necrosed (dead tissue) and is cold to the touch. There was absent to delayed proprioception in his left hind limb, but normal in his right hind. Bilateral hind limb atrophy was improved but still present. He did have radiographs from his primary veterinarian showing evidence of an old lumbar L5-L6 fracture/luxation that has since healed. Otherwise orthopedically, we did not find any abnormalities. Some minor adjustments were made to his Eddie's wheel chair, but he is still able to pull his hind legs out of the cart at times. He is currently on gabapentin 300mg twice a day, and receives Dasuquin joint supplements daily. ================================================================= ============ RECOMMENDATIONS 1) Continue to use his rear support wheel chair during periods of fatigue after activity. 2) Incorporate daily sit-to-stand exercises, 10 reps per session with proper 'rock-back sit' posture and avoid 'walking out' of the sit as demonstrated. The posture during his sit and subsequent standing is important to allow targeted quad and hamstring strengthening rather compensatory movement from the shoulder ** THIS NOTE CONTINUED ON NEXT PAGE ** -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DIESEL ~ WOOFWOOF FOSTERS UT COLLEGE OF VETERINARY MED Printed:01/15/2025 13:30 34-49-56 DOB:00/00/2020 Pt Loc: OUTPATIENT VTH 2006 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MEDICAL RECORD UT VTH CLIENT DISCHARGE INSTRUCTIONS -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 01/15/2025 11:41 ** CONTINUED FROM PREVIOUS PAGE ** and core. 3) Diesel will need a tail amputation as the tip of his tail is now dead. Because Diesel does use his tail for balance, it is reasonable at this time to consider a partial amputation. However, partial tail amputations may fail and result in revision to full tail amputation. Please follow up with your regular DVM for tail amputation. 4) Another option for a wheel chair would be "Walkin' Wheels" (brand of cart with a fabric saddle). These style carts can sometimes be easier for dogs to run in. Diesel's Eddie's Wheels cart is still useful, especially in the future as we anticipate as he ages the spine will degenerate further. This is likely several years in the future. Eddie's Wheels carts are the best option for dogs that have minimal to zero ability to move their legs and are very debilitated. Moderately active dogs also do well in Eddie's carts, but may be limited from high activity like fast running. 5) Continue using the Eddie's as needed, but attempt to gradually decrease use to determine if Diesel has gained enough strength to discontinue use for now. Additionally, the Walkin Wheels carts do offer a partial reimbursement if returned within the first 30 days, so it may be an option to trial the different cart style. Regardless, you should see continued improvement not regression. If you note regression, this could indicate new onset orthopedic disease (most likely elbow or knee problems given Diesel's breed), or new/worsening spinal cord compression. A DVM should evaluate Diesel if these changes are noted. ======= Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns regarding Diesel's care. We are happy to recheck or readjust his carts as needed. ADOPTION FEE IS BEING SPONSORED BY MACC PACK IF ADOPTED BY 1/3/26!If you’re looking for a dog who will adore her people with her whole heart, Fifi might just be your girl. This sweet, snuggly, playful lady has been working hard on her confidence, and wow she has come so far. When she first entered foster care she was afraid of… well, pretty much everything: people, dogs, noises, the big wide world. But with patience and love she began to bloom. Today, she’s mostly just wary of loud things (lawnmowers are suspicious, thank you very much), and she continues to make progress every day.Fifi is potty trained, crate trained, and snoozes in bed with her foster at night. When home alone she settles nicely in her crate with a peanut-butter Kong. She walks nicely on leash, especially in calmer areas, and responds well to redirection using her “no” cue or treats (kibble works just fine; she’s not high maintenance!).She’s enjoyed playgroups at the shelter and has met both men and women in her foster home, warming up a bit more slowly to men. Once she decides someone is safe, she turns on the charm with snuggles, affection, and a whole lot of happy tail wiggles. Her favorite hobbies include:?? lounging in the yard & supervising bunny activity?? chew toys + enrichment snacks??? becoming a couch ornament (but a cute one)?? occasionally digging a hole for fun Her ideal home:A patient adopter who will help her continue building confidence and managing reactivity. Experience with reactive dogs is a plus, but she’d also thrive with someone willing to learn. A fenced yard would make her happiest, outdoor time is her jam. She hasn’t been tested with kids or other pets in the home.Fifi has put in the work and she’s ready for a family who will continue cheering her on. If you love a dog with heart, resilience, cuddles, and a silly side… Fifi is ready to wiggle her way right into your life.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Hobbies: Sunbathing, snacking, and surprising everyone with her newfound zest for life.   Cammy is in her  “retired but thriving”  era — the Golden Girl of the group who’s discovered that naps are great, but playtime with friends might be even better!   Once a quiet observer, Cammy has blossomed into a social butterfly (well… maybe more of a cozy golden bumblebee ). She now happily snuggles up with her 14 dog friends and joins in on the fun when the mood strikes — from gentle wrestling matches to wiggly tail wags that could melt your heart.   She still appreciates a soft bed, a warm patch of sunlight, and a steady supply of snacks, but she’s also learned that life’s even better when you share it with your pack.   Cammy’s the total package — mellow, loving, and delightfully playful in her golden years. If you’re looking for a low-maintenance best friend who can keep you company for naps  and  bring a little joy to your day, Cammy’s your girl. Story
Welcome Honey to CCPAL foster Program. Honey is a 3 year old Boxer mixed dog. She is potty trained. We think Honey survived the flood in Kerrville. A good samaritan has taken her in and is giving her good nutrition and love until we find her forever home. She was really scratched up and had a wound on her front left leg. She will be spayed soon and she is going to the vet again for a follow up on her leg. Our guess is it may have gotten broken and healed back on it’s own due to what she has gone through. She is good on a leash, very loving and bonds deeply. She lives with 5 cats right now but she is much too interested and we feel her best home would be without cats. She loves all people and no one is a stranger. She is good with dogs her size and is an energetic girl. Her best home would be with an active and ourdoorsy family that wants a great companion to join them in their outdoor fun. She is looking wonderful and filling out nicely in her new foster home. She lost some muscle around her bum area due to the length of time she was without food. Despite this, she would make an amazing family pet. She would love to be the only dog and be the center of her families attention. She weighs about 40 pounds and is a taller dog but medium weight. She is great in a car and would make a great dog in settings where lots of people are around. She is lower in shedding. She will be getting spayed soon and ready for her forever home. She is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 300 and transport is 200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Meet Donut — a soft, squishy marshmallow of a dog with a sprinkle of sass and a whole lot of heart. Donut is a 6-year-old English Bulldog with a face you’ll want to smoosh and a soul that’s slowly learning what love feels like. She’s had a tough start to life, but now she’s safe, warm, and discovering just how good it can feel to be part of a real family. She’s a quiet, gentle girl who prefers calm, cozy environments. Donut doesn’t care much for toys or most treats — unless you happen to have Cheetos, which she finds completely irresistible. She has recently mastered the stairs and while she’s working on leash skills, she’s much more comfortable roaming freely in a fenced-in yard. A harness works best for her, as she can easily wiggle out of a collar, and trust us — she will if given the chance.  She is able to walk behind with the leash but still prefers to do her business in the back yard.   At home, Donut likes to find a peaceful corner to relax in and prefers when people interact with her at her level, as standing over her can be intimidating. She doesn’t bark much, only when alarmed, and she gets along well with friendly dogs of all sizes. She doesn’t need a dog companion in her forever home, but she may enjoy having one around. Donut is potty trained on a consistent schedule and will often stay dry overnight, though she sometimes uses a potty pad if needed. She’s not crate trained but does well having her own quiet space. Donut’s right eye doesn’t produce tears, so she may need occasional over-the-counter drops, but it doesn’t slow her down. She also has arthritis in her back and needs daily medication.  What she really needs is someone with patience, kindness, and a heart big enough to help her continue to come out of her shell. She’s sweet. She’s sensitive. She’s a little weird in the best possible way. If you have a soft couch and an even softer heart, Donut just might be your perfect match. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.   Bulldogs are a member of the Brachycephalic breed and therefore have a host of health issues that may arise.  Because these dogs are new into our rescue, health issues in the future may arise that we are not aware of.  Some of these issues are allergies, eye issues, yeast infections, interdigital cysts, slipped disks in their back, breathing problems, among a host of others that can occur at any time or when seasons change. While breed experience is not required, we encourage you to thoroughly research the breed and its financial, medical, and environmental needs to be sure the breed is a good fit for you and your family.  It is estimated that the average bulldog owner spends $2,000 per year on medical needs. Bulldogs are one of the most expensive dogs to own, maintain, and rescue and our adoption fees reflect such expenses.  The application process for bulldogs usually moves quite quickly as they are a popular breed, so we ask that adopters do research and be prepared for adoption at the time you submit your application.  They are happy, goofy, playful characters and we are excited you are taking the first steps into rescuing one!   This dog requires an application fee.  This fee must be paid within 24 hours, or your application will be considered void.    We will not review or contact applicants that have not completed the payment portion. Bulldog Applications will be responded to within 5 business days, after receipt of the application fee.  Please understand that paying the fee does not guarantee you will be approved to adopt the bulldog. Our goal is to place bulldogs in homes that are suited for their individual needs. You may be willing and able to provide a great home, but if it doesn’t meet the specific needs of the bulldog, we will not approve your application.
