Story
Lane is an adorable senior Shih Tzu who is sweeter than you could imagine. Lane came to us as a stray dog. While he most certainly had a home, we were unable to find his owners. He was not in the best condition and suffered from neglect but surely he was loved as he is so loving to people. He greets you up on two legs happily bouncing to announce his joy of your arrival. He responds gregariously to your happy voice and encouragement. Lane also feels better now as he had his horribly rotten teeth cleaned and extracted as needed. Lane is estimated to be 10 years old and while his clouded eyes make him look older, his jubilant personality makes him seem much younger. Lane’s vision is not great so he should not be around a swimming pool. But he gets around here like dog with completely normal vision. He just needs to get to know his new home. Lane deserves a home where he will be so loved and well cared for. He is a very slight guy weighing about 9 lbs and an absolute peach on the grooming table. We will certainly miss this exhuberant dog when he leaves us but we know he will bring his new owners as much joy as we hope they have to offer him. Like many of our rescue dogs, we are not sure how well house trained Lane is. But with gentle persuasion, some consistency, structure and praise he should be easy to train. Lane is a coated dog (hair grows continuously) and will need professional grooming every 6-8 weeks. Lane's adoption fee is $325 This fee includes at least one health exam at our veterinarian while in our care, altering, all vaccinations including rabies (as permitted by age), a pre-adoption professional grooming and a microchip with lifetime membership that never will cost you a fee. All dogs also leave with a new collar and or harness and leash as well as a gift bag which includes among other things, a starter bag of the quality kibble that is being fed at the rescue. Adoption fees also allow us the ability to put funds towards the next homeless or unwanted dog in need of rescue! If you would like to be considered to for this adoption or any of our amazing rescues, please fill out the application with the help of this link. https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/AZST/Dog. We review each application carefully. Please understand that sometimes we get numerous applications for specific dogs and as a volunteer-based rescue, we do not always have the time to respond to each one. We do our best to choose the most suitable home for each dog based on their specific personality and needs. Please note you MAY NOT be contacted for up to 10 days to schedule a meet and greet if your family is the most suitable for this rescue dog. Regrettably, we do not have the manpower currently to contact all applicants. We keep ALL applications in our database so please feel free to contact us when you see another dog of interest. We appreciate all applicants and do our best to pair every dog and family for a successful and happy life.

Story
PWRESCUE.ORG *PHOENIX METRO AREA ONLY*  Meet Yoda – Your Pocket-Sized Jedi of Joy! Don’t be fooled by his petite frame—Yoda is bursting with big personality and puppy charm! With his wild, wispy ears and a mischievous sparkle in his eye, this 1-year-old Terrier/Shih Tzu mix lives up to his legendary name: wise beyond his years, endlessly curious, and always ready for fun.  Yoda is a 1-year old, 11 pound terrier/Shih Tzu mix. Rescued as a stray, Yoda is now on a quest to find his forever home. He’s a bundle of happy energy who thrives in an active environment. His dream? A home with a friendly dog sibling to wrestle, chase, and learn from. A fenced yard would be the cherry on top—perfect for zoomies, sunbathing, and sniff-filled adventures. Yoda’s playful spirit and goofy antics make him an instant favorite. He’s sweet, silly, and guaranteed to keep you laughing. While he hasn’t been tested with cats, he might do fine with a slow introduction. Since we don’t know his history with children, older, respectful kids would be the best fit. Yoda comes neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines—all he’s missing is you. If you’re ready for love, laughter, and a lifetime of adorable antics, Yoda is ready to be your loyal sidekick. Adopt Yoda—because the Force is strong with this one. Story
PWRESCUE.ORG **PHOENIX METRO AREA ONLY** Meet Ozzie & Oreo – A Sweet Senior Duo Looking for Their Forever Home Introducing Ozzie and Oreo, a delightful bonded pair of 9-year-old seniors ready to spend their golden years wrapped in love and comfort. Ozzie, a gentle Havanese mix, and Oreo, a charming Shih Tzu mix, are the very best of friends—shy but oh-so-sweet, and always happiest together. These two are looking for a peaceful, loving home where they can truly relax and be the center of your world. A calm, adult-only environment without other pets would be ideal, as they thrive in quiet surroundings and prefer all the attention for themselves. Though they’re enjoying their retirement years, Ozzie and Oreo still have plenty of affection to give. They’ll reward your love and patience with loyal companionship, cozy cuddles, and the kind of soulful connection only senior dogs can offer. Due to their chatty nature, they’re not a good match for apartment or condo living—but if you’ve got a quiet home with room in your heart for two, Ozzie and Oreo could be the perfect pair for you. Give these sweet seniors the loving home they deserve—and in return, gain two grateful, gentle companions for life. Ozzie and Oreo are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered, and microchipped. Their adoption fee is $350.00 for the pair. If you’re ready to provide this sweet pair with a loving home, please visit https://pwrescue.org and click on the "Adopt" button to complete an application.   Pathways Home Animal Rescue May 29, 2025, 9:09 pm
