Lil Husker is a loving and loyal 10-pound best friend who wants nothing more than to cuddle on your lap and spend his days lounging with you! After his owner died, this 7-year old cute-as-a-button healthy Shih Tzu was being fostered by the Skilled Care Facility where his owner lived before passing; however, the deceased owner's family has taken over the fostering to ensure Husker is being provided the best care possible - just as his former owner previously provided (veterinary and vaccination records are up-to-date and available). Husker suffered an accident shortly after his owner died, from which the little guy is fully recovered, but it cost Husker his front right leg (and prompted the fostering by the former owner's family). He loves attention and being with people; especially his people, which results in him being best as the only pet in the home. Husker is potty trained and loves going outside to soak up the sun, especially with his owner!

Dee Dee is available for PRE-ADOPTION. She is not yet fully vetted. She can not leave the rescue until Approximately March 15. Dee Dee is a sweet, petite Shih Tzu who loves to love. She’s not “needy” but loves affection and love. She’s would love to sleep in your bed with you. She travels well, walks on a leash and lathers her person with love. Dee Dee is 2 years old. She’s just a bit of a thing weighing about 10 lbs. Like many of our rescue dogs, we are not sure how well housetrained Dee Dee is. But with gentle persuasion, some consistency, structure and praise she should be easy to train. Dee Dee is a coated dog (hair grows continuously) and will need professional grooming every 6-8 weeks. Dee Dee’s adoption fee is $450 This fee includes at least one health exam at our veterinarian while in our care, altering, all vaccinations including rabies (as permitted by age), a pre-adoption professional grooming and a microchip with lifetime membership that never will cost you a fee. All dogs also leave with a new collar and or harness and leash as well as a gift bag which includes among other things, a starter bag of the quality kibble that is being fed at the rescue. Adoption fees also allow us the ability to put funds towards the next homeless or unwanted dog in need of rescue! He lost some of his eyesight before he came to us but once he gets acclimated with his new environment he does amazingly well. He’s quiet, not a barker, and very laid back. He is potty trained and gets along with other dogs but is timid with assertive dogs so would be best off alone or with a similar personality. He weighs about 16 lbs. Drake will take some time to open up. He will initially be Timid and Needs somebody who is patient and kind. She is missing an eye and has some vision issues with her other eye from untreated dry eye. She now get a drop daily. She gets around quite well despite it all. And don’t bother telling him he’s only 9 pounds because he refuses to believe he’s smaller than a grizzly bear. He can get a little nervous walking on a leash with other dogs around, but why walk when you can play fetch?
