SNUGGLER. LOVER. YOUNG-AT-HEART. Coach found himself at the county shelter as a senior in rough shape. He had a terrible upper respiratory infection that turned into severe pneumonia. When we saw he was listed for euthanasia, we stepped in to save him and brought him to the emergency room. After receiving intensive care, including oxygen, he spent weeks recuperating under the watchful eye of our medical team and staff. Now fully recovered, Coach walks politely on leash as he gets his neighborhood strolls in. He can also be left alone in his crate while you run errands but will snuggle up with you as soon as you come home. Coach shows his playful side once he’s given a chance to warm up. Once he trusts you, he’ll love you forever. He even loves playing with dogs of his size or smaller. This young-at-heart senior enjoys going to new places, though he is more cautious with new people. Oreo is a handsome black and white purebred Shih Tzu. He is a sweet and loving as he can be. He absolutely LOVES balls (playing fetch) and water! He is very fun to play with and be around. He really needs a home with a yard. He does not love being around a lot of other dogs particularly dominant male dogs. He is good on walks and good in the car. We do not recommend that Oreo is in a home with small children as he does not like to be cuddled and schmoozed. He is an independent kind of guy. Oreo loves water and playing in the pool. He is loving and playful and loves toys and long walks. He is very well-behaved inside or out. Oreo is approximately four years old and weighs about 14 pounds. Oreo is a coated dog (hair grows continuously) and will need professional grooming every 6-8 weeks. Oreo's adoption fee is $350 This fee includes at least one health exam at our veterinarian while in our care, altering, all vaccinations including rabies (as permitted by age), a pre-adoption professional grooming and a microchip with lifetime membership that never will cost you a fee. Chloe is a sweet and petite little Shih Tzu girl. She was surrendered after her owner passed. She is a quiet girl and affectionate but not needy. She gets along well with all of the other dogs. Toren is a cute black and white Shih Tzu mix boy who is a complete love bug. He’s not yet 1 year old (will be in May) and he’s about 14 lbs at the time of his vet visit and neuter. Toren is a little bit of a drama baby and tends to want a little more attention than the average dog but he has lots of love to offer back. He has shown a little anxiety when being left alone but we have worked hard on building his confidence and ability to self soothe here at the rescue and will pass along tips to his new family to keep him from slipping back to his former ways. He gets along with most other dogs and people. He is so sweet and likes walks and playtime. He will make a wonderful friend for almost any person or family.
