Story
Please contact Constance (connibouchard@gmail.com) for more information about this pet.Rescued dogIf you are interested in me after reading about me, please visit my site, http://www.breederadoptions.org and follow the instructions. The majority of the dogs we rescue, mostly breeder dogs, have lived their entire lives in less-than-ideal conditions so will need to be socialized, house and leash trained. Most have never lived in a house, walked on a leash, had a treat or sat in a lap. For many of them, their feet have never touched the ground after living for years on wire until they arrive at our main facility where they are evaluated, groomed and given vet care. Most of these dogs are not socialized and need to be cornered to be picked up, so are not suitable for people with physical disabilities or suffer from PTSD. They need folks who will make them the center of their world and help them learn to trust before even attempting to train.  Please do not apply if you do not meet the requirements of the dogs we rescue.  However, they will learn with time, love, patience and most of all, commitment. You must have an ample supply of all of these to reap the rewards of watching these very special dogs become your wonderful companion. We state any known health issues, all are altered unless there is a medical reason not to, which we will advise, any known medical issues addressed, are microchipped, are UTD on all vaccines and have been checked out by at least one veterinarian, usually two. We do not guarantee the health of any of our rescued dogs. The dogs we rescue have lived with other dogs all of their lives and most get along with other dogs. We state if they are dog aggressive. We require a permanent, full-time parent. That means you must be able to spend the majority of your time with your new companion to socialize and train. We do not, under any circumstances, place them in homes with young children as they have not been exposed to children and we do not know how they will react. Please do not waste your time or ours if you are not prepared to adopt within 2 weeks and you are not willing to pick the dog up at its location. Hi! My name is Rory, and I am a beautiful Shih Tzu boy who is 6 years old, and I weigh 11 pounds. I am a bit afraid of this big, new world and my eyesight isn't great, so a socialized sibling to help me learn the ropes would be ideal. I like to play with toys, snuggle in bed with the other dogs in my foster home, and follow my humans everywhere. I do have dry eye, so I need drops often, but I am an angel and don't mind them being given to me. If you have been waiting for a Shih Tzu to love, please ask for me on your application to http://www.breederadoptions.org. Love, Rory 071523-16  September 27, 2023, 10:07 pm

Story
Peppy is a mixture of Shih Tzu and Maltese and is just as cute as he can be. He weighs just under 12 lbs and he is 3 years old. He came in with his brother because the family was moving and could not take the dogs with them. He does not always get along well with his brother though so we are recommending they be adopted separately. Peppy would do best as an only dog. Peppy is house trained and will go to the door when he needs to go out. He is a charming boy who will make a perfect pet for almost any family as he likes kids and adults alike, once he gets to know them. He has a great personality as well!! Peppy is a coated dog (hair grows continuously) and will require brushing and professional grooming every 6-8 weeks. Peppy's Adoption fee is $400 This fee includes at least one health exam at our veterinarian while in our care, altering, all vaccinations including rabies (as permitted by age), a pre-adoption professional grooming and a microchip with lifetime membership that never will cost you a fee. All dogs also leave with a new collar and or harness and leash as well as a gift bag which includes among other things, a starter bag of the quality kibble that is being fed at the rescue. Adoption fees also allow us the ability to put funds towards the next homeless or unwanted dog in need of rescue! If you would like to be considered to for this adoption or any of our amazing rescues, please fill out the application with the help of this link. https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/AZST/Dog. We review each application carefully. Please understand that sometimes we get numerous applications for specific dogs and as a volunteer-based rescue, we do not always have the time to respond to each one. We do our best to choose the most suitable home for each dog based on their specific personality and needs. Please note you MAY NOT be contacted for up to 10 days to schedule a meet and greet if your family is the most suitable for this rescue dog. Regrettably, we do not have the manpower currently to contact all applicants. We keep ALL applications in our database so please feel free to contact us when you see another dog of interest. We appreciate all applicants and do our best to pair ever dog and family for a successful and happy life.

Story
Clyde is a sweet 10 year old Shih Tzu.boy who lost his home because after having him 10 years, his owners decided he is not good around their kids. He did not deserve to be given up on just because he is aging. Additionally they allowed him to become very overweight which could definitely contribute to his sometimes grumpy mood. We have not observed any bad behavior here at the rescue. He is really a nice dog, easy to have around and not at all demanding. He is in good health, fully vetted and ready for a new home and a Weight Watchers membership. It is imperative that his new Adopter keeps him on a diet to help him reduce his weight. He's clearly not comfortable how he is. He would love the yard to run around in as well as to bask in the sun. He may need some forced walking to help with retrieving the waistline he once enjoyed. according to his former owners, Clyde is housetrained. Clyde is a coated dog (hair grows continuously) and will require brushing and professional grooming every 6-8 weeks. Clydes's Adoption fee is $275 This fee includes at least one health exam at our veterinarian while in our care, altering, all vaccinations including rabies (as permitted by age), a pre-adoption professional grooming and a microchip with lifetime membership that never will cost you a fee. All dogs also leave with a new collar and or harness and leash as well as a gift bag which includes among other things, a starter bag of the quality kibble that is being fed at the rescue. Story
Daisy is one of 13 dogs who came to us after the owner became terminally ill and went into hospice care. The owner was devastated to give them up. Daisy is an 9 year old (soon to be 10) Shih Tzu girl and is a beautiful black and white color. She is a purebred Shih Tzu and can be adopted by herself or along with one of her Shih Tzu friends she came in with. We think it is important that she lives with another dog however as she has never been alone. According to the owner the dogs are housetrained and are pretty good with everybody. Daisy is friendly and not a big barker. She walks on a leash well and loves attention. She gets along with most other dogs and all people, but she's never been around small children or cats. Lilu weighs about 15 pounds. She would love a yard to romp around in, and a cool house to rest in. If you have never adopted a senior dog, you are missing out. It is one of the most rewarding experiences you will ever have! Daisy is a coated dog (hair grows continuously) and will require brushing and professional grooming every 6-8 weeks. Daisy's fee is $325. This fee includes at least one health exam at our veterinarian while in our care, altering, all vaccinations including rabies (as permitted by age), a pre-adoption professional grooming and a microchip with lifetime membership that never will cost you a fee. All dogs also leave with a new collar and or harness and leash as well as a gift bag which includes among other things, a starter bag of the quality kibble that is being fed at the rescue.
