Story
NAME: Zep BREED: Shih Tzu BIRTHDAY: 2014 WEIGHT: 13lbs ADOPTION FEE: $350   This sweet and happy little fellow was found as a stray in Philly. He was in rough shape- matted all over with a mouth full of mushy teeth, and was understandably nervous in the shelter. However, it didn't take him long to settle in here at GOT, exploring the yard and soliciting head scratches from his foster mom. We got his teeth fixed up and his face trimmed nicely, and now Zep is ready for a family of his own! &#226&#128&#139 Zep gets along well with other animals, and is happy to meet new people. He does well with house training as long as he's given consistent breaks and the weather is nice. He is happy to go for walks or rides in the car, and is quiet and polite in the house. Zep does have some pain in his legs and will need to be on medications for life, but his "swimmy" little gait just gives him more character, and he loves taking his pills. Overall he's just a good boy! Because of his age and size, we are looking for a home for Zep without young children, but young visitors should be just fine as long as they are gentle and polite. Please consider giving Zep the forever home he deserves! April 9, 2024, 6:07 pm

Story
Meet Munchkin, our charming 11-year-old mixed breed boy, weighing in at a delightful 30 pounds. With a background in a local pet store, he's a social butterfly who effortlessly interacts with cats, dogs, and children (he loves children!). Munchkin brings a wealth of experience from his previous home, making him a seasoned companion. While he may need a bit of time to adjust to his new surroundings, his friendly nature and adaptability shine through. Consistent potty breaks and the potential use of belly bands can aid in this transition. If you're ready to open your heart to an easygoing and loving companion, Munchkin is the perfect fit for a forever home filled with warmth and care. Munchkin has had a recent dental cleaning and extraction of some teeth, senior panel blood work (nothing notable), and removal of a few pesky skin tags, but is healthy and ready to find his new family! Story
Hello, this is Bieber he was a found and adopted at an estimated age of 2 to 3 years old. He’s been a part of the family for about 11 years now, but unfortunately, it is time to part ways as life has got pretty hectic the past year with me working and being a new mom, and I feel like he isn’t getting the love and attention that he needs. Bieber is a simple dog who only needs a few walks a day and for you to love on him and play with him. He has the heart and energy of a puppy. (I always forget he’s pretty up there in age) He loves children, and going for walks, he will defend his household by barking if he thinks there is an intruder and stand his guard if he think someone is walking too close to you 😂 so when people pass by, I do put him on a tighter leash, but he actually wouldn’t hurt a fly. The only hiccup Bieber has is that he does wear male dog diapers because of house training, failures and he’s a little difficult when it’s time for a hair cut.

Story
Hi - My name is Ming and I am a new member of the AARF family. I am a Shih Tzu mix, but because I am brand new to these parts, there's not much more known about me or my personality just yet. If you check back a little later, I'm sure my foster parents will have a lot more information to post about me. If you have any questions, though, feel free to send an email to info@animalalliesrescue.org. or if you just think it's love at first sight, please fill out an adoption application at this site - http://www.animalalliesrescue.org and choose me - Ming!My adoption fee is $150. AARF wants me to tell you that their adoption package covers all expenses needed to prepare dogs like me for our forever homes. By the time you meet us, we've already been spayed/neutered (if age appropriate) and microchipped. We've been checked by a veterinarian, and we're up to date on age appropriate immunizations against rabies and DHLPP (distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis, parainfluenza, and parvovirus). We've been tested for heartworm and other tick borne diseases (4DX), and we've started our heartworm and flea preventive medications. Some of us have had extensive surgeries, dental work, or other necessary procedures. AARF is committed to getting all of us entirely ready for a happy, healthy, love-filled life!
