Anthony came to Rescue when his elderly owner passed away, and there was no back up plan for his care. The local Humane Society took him in. He's waiting for a new home, now living in a foster home. The foster home said Anthony is doing great. For a senior dog, about 10 yr., or more, he has a spring in his step and can still play like a puppy. He has lost the sight in one eye, but it doesn't slow him down. Anthony needs a home that is quiet, since that is what he's known his whole life. Maybe with a senior human or mature adult(s). He is housetrained and has no issues with his health, other dogs or people. Anthony's adoption fee is $300 to help cover the medical costs of getting ready for adoption. Hi, my name is Izzie and my foster pawrents say that I'm just the sweetest little girl! I ended up at the shelter labeled as a stray - whatever that is. That is where I started my journey as a Miri's Haven dog. I've already moved on from my stray era and I'm totally in my glow up era. (humble brag - sorry, not sorry) My loves in life are food, being with people, and a quick run through the yard followed by a snooze. I'm pretty good at pottying outside but sometimes you have to remind me and I don't mind if you put pee pads out for me. I'm great with the dogs and cats here at my foster pawrents' house. Sometimes I holler at the other dogs if they try to bother me when I'm sleeping. I also think that everyone should share their food with me but they don't seem to agree. I'm also an expert splooter and hoping they add it to the Olympics so I can compete in LA. I take one pill a day for Cushing's and don't even mind it beacause it's an extra snackie. Newton is a mixed breed we presume to be Shih-Tzu / Poodle mix. He is around 20 pounds (underweight) neutered and just recently vetted. Newton ended up in a local shelter completely matted and in pain. He was shaved down, neutered and had imbecile hernia repair. He was too stressed out in the shelter so they reached out for a rescue group to help him. We got there as soon as we can. Newton is an active, happy, playful dog that gets along well with his new foster brother. He seems to be energetic and active and a bit mouthy so he would not do well with young children. Look back here for more information as we get to know him better. Newton is a very affectionate companion. He seems to want to and will climb into your lap to be close to you. He like to be in touch with his people either on the lap, next to and touching on the couch, and very close in bed at night with his warm body. BONDED PAIR, MUST ADOPT BOTH Hi. I'm Bitzee, a 9 y/o golden/white female shitsu. I'm part of a bonded pair with my 13 y/o chi mix Judah Chase. You see, our owner had to go into hospice care and it broke her heart to give us up. She made the rescue lady promise to adopt us together as we have always lived in the same household and don't know any different. My brother and I get along very well and it is kind of like getting 2 for the price of 1. I am currently about 4 pounds overweight ( currently 14 pounds) but foster Mom is diligently working on that with me. Despite being overweight, I am playful and like to go for walks. I had previously lived in an apartment and hadn't been able to get much exercise because of my owner's health. I had been going potty on potty pads but am now learning to go outside through the doggy door. My brother has already mastered the doggy door and I should soon. I like to go for car rides and am kennel trained. I am able to be kept unkenneled without being destructive and am not a huge barker. I am extremely loyal and like to follow my human around. I am good with children and other small dogs. It is unknown as to how I would do with large dogs or cats since foster mom doesn't have either. I have more videos on the rescue website! My name is Pepper. I weigh 7 lbs. (2/16). I am one in a litter of three. We were born around November 15. We are fostered in Mount Airy, North Carolina but easy, affordable transportation is available. Our mom weighed 7 pounds and our dad weighed 10 pounds. They were both family pets with great dispositions. We all have long bodies and short legs. We are not considered hypoallergenic or non-shedding since we are mixed breed puppies. We are well socialized and very loving. We love being held and petted, and we always greet our foster mom at the door with wagging tails and lots of kisses. We love to play with toys and with each other. We do like to chew on fingers and toes so we definitely need some training in this area. We have a medium energy level. We are working on house training. We sleep in a crate every night and we have learned not to potty in our crate. As soon as our crate door is opened every morning we run straight to the door to go outside and potty. We are good with the other dogs and love to play with them. I am the boldest of the three and the first to try anything new. I love to snooze in my foster’s lap! We provide hours of entertainment to our foster mom just watching us play. We are pretty typical puppies - we eat, sleep, play, and then start all over again. We have so much love to give and we are ready to go to our new forever homes! We will not be adopted in to homes with small children because we are so small. We are up-to-date on our puppy shots and we have been dewormed. We have already had a check up by the veterinarian.
