Story
If you are interested in adopting or fostering this dog. Please visit our website - www.cockeradoptions.org   There, you will find the current status of the dog, the links to our adoption and foster applications, and detailed information about our adopting and fostering procedures.   ALL OF MY PICTURES ARE AVAILABLE BELOW! MY ORIGINAL INTAKE INFORMATION: Hi Everyone! My name is Lucy, and I just arrived at CSAC. I was rescued from a puppy mill. I am shy because I have not been around a lot of people or lived in a home as a pet. I have spent my life in a barn, a shed or a cage. The best home for me has people who have dog experience who can help with my training and acclimating to the outside world. The people in my new home should be able to teach me the skills I need to be a great pet: walking on a lead, house training, and socializing. Right now, I am in the caring hands of one of the great Vets that work with CSAC. They are checking me out and making sure I am healthy. Hopefully, I will find my new family that will help me to understand that I am a cherished family pet, not just an animal to be used to make money. For more information about this dog, email our Adoption Coordinator. Our adoption process starts with an application. If you are interested in adopting this pup, please click the Adopt menu at the top of the screen, read about our process, and click the application link. The medical and custodial care of the many Cockers in our care is tremendous. More and more dogs are abandoned with urgent and serious medical issues. We are committed to providing the best possible care for these forgotten friends. Unfortunately, the mounting high costs are beginning to limit the number of dogs we are able to take into our program. Even if you cannot adopt or foster one of our current adoptable dogs, please consider making a donation. The Cocker Spaniel Adoption Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization, and your donations are entirely tax deductible. Click the Donate menu at the top of the screen. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Thank you for your interest in a Home At Last Sanctuary, Inc. animal.  STOP!!! READ!! The ENTIRE DESCRIPTION before you inquire. Do not call, email, txt, send an inquiry through any other website complete our online application FIRST. http://hals.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=3016 Visit our official website(s) here HomeAtLastSanctuary.ORG or HALS.RescueGroups.ORG There is a complete our application only. Say hello to Reggie FKA Clay. This is Reggie's personal Webpage https://hals.rescuegroups.org/animals/detail?AnimalID=18757375 4/12/23 UPDATE!! Reggie has made a lot of improvement learning to deal with his fears from his past life.  Reggie has been living with an older dog since he arrived here.  A few weeks ago two more foster dogs arrived.  7 pound 14 year old toy Poodle and a 14 pound 8 year old miniature Poodle.  Reggie has not really had any other canine companions and he is doing a good job learning proper dog etiquette.  We would do well with a little larger submissive other dog.  Reggie will require human leadership that can convince him you are pack leader.  Former dog ownership will be recommended and likely required. Reggie is a neutered Shih-tzu / Papillon mix born 9/18/2018, around 17 pounds, house-trained, Up-to-date on his medical. Reggie is an agility dog in the making if you are so inclined to make him that.  He is smart, intelligent, fast, agile, and stinking cute.  The main thing will be whether you can keep up with him. Reggie is a fearful dog due to things he experienced from his past. We have been working through many of these fears, he is still working through other things. He will likely require a quiet home with very few people living there and without lots of coming and going of other people.  Reggie will require human companion willing to give him space to make contact on his terms. Reggie will require an introduction with every one that enters.  Once he conquer his fears he is confident amusing and very affectionate. His fears still include "stranger danger".   He gets very excited when; people, bicycles, loud vehicles, other dogs especially noisy other dogs in public.  At home he is a watch dog.  His favorite thing, and  his job letting you know about anything and anywhere.  He will get excited when people come AND GO. Reggie should be with children 15 years OLD OR OLDER He WOULD NOT be a good match where a dog barking would disturb others around where you live such as apartments or condominiums. Reggie is a dog that requires regular grooming and occasionally professional grooming. Reggie is comfortable around other dogs well matched for him. It is unlikely he will be able to live with cats. Story
Lola is 11 years old. She has been within our family since a newborn pup. In 2018 my brother passed so I took Lola in , from my moms care to allow my mom to grieve. Due to some unfortunate life circumstances I cannot house Lola as I’m in between homes myself. Lola has been and amazing quiet dog all her life. She is a virgin , never bred , she is loving and kind. She has always been in a home with one child or around 2 children. She is the love of my sons life but unfortunately we can’t keep her. This is the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do. I would love Lola to go to a loving home with one or maybe 2 children. She is quiet and just lounges Aron d all day. She is independent and can be by herself no issues. I need to rehome her asap. I would love a family who can. Keep me updated on her for the rake of my son and I.
