Story
Meet Sugar and Johnny! Rescued from an overcrowded shelter where their lives were at risk, these two sweeties are settling into their foster home wonderfully. Johnny is around 6 years old and Sugar is 3. They are very bonded and we would like to find them a home together. Johnny and Sugar are the sweetest companions you could ever ask for. Within hours of being in their foster home, they were hopping into laps to get love and attention! They are happiest playing with their squeaky toys; Johnny loving to play fetch with them, while Sugar entertains herself by squeaking away joyfully. After play time and walks, they love cuddling up to their people for a nice quiet nap, and they nap hard- you’ll love to hear the cute snores! They are bonded tightly and love to walk together, play together, and sleep together (or on top of each other). They are crate trained at night for sleep, and know how to pee on pee pads if left alone and can’t hold it, but we are working on some potty manners that they’re already getting the hang of! Johnny and Sugar really attach to their people, and would probably be best in a home with no other dogs so they could share your undivided dog love! Johnny and Sugar are vaccinated, microchipped and fixed. Both had a dental as well and Sugar had a small growth removed from above her eye (benign). Their combined adoption fee is $600   We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495.  Thank you for stepping up to save a life! To expedite to meet with this dog, please go to our site at www.savinggreatanimals.org and fill out an application. We look at the first applications to arrive, so we hope to hear from you soon! Story
Pluto is a fun, energetic puppy with a big personality and an even bigger love for playtime! 🐾💙 He loves playing with his sibling and his older foster dog, and he has tons of energy to keep up with all the fun. Pluto absolutely loves toys and especially enjoys when his humans join in and play with him! He is puppy-pad trained and can also go potty outside on command. We’re currently working on helping him learn to let us know when he needs to go. Pluto is a sweet, playful pup who would make a wonderful addition to just about any home. He’s ready to bring lots of love, laughs, and puppy fun to his forever family! 🐶 -----

A Quick but Important Note to All Adopters:
Please remember that none of our dogs arrive fully trained. Most come from tough or uncertain beginnings and may have never lived in a home or known basic routines. That means:

✧ They are not potty trained on arrival. Most dogs regress in potty training when moving to a new environment.

✧ They may lack basic manners (like leash walking or appropriate chewing).

✧ They’re learning, growing, and doing their best—but they will need patience, structure, and compassion to succeed.

The majority of these pups have lived in the confinement of a cage or kennel run for most - if not all - of their lives. Because of this, we strongly discourage the use of crates for anything other than vehicle transport. They deserve the chance to decompress and learn what true freedom and comfort feel like.

Our amazing foster homes work hard to start these dogs on the right path, but they are rescues, not finished products. These dogs need time, consistency, and a loving home willing to meet them where they are.

Also, breed designations are our best guesses based on appearance and behavior. We can't guarantee breed, size, adult weight, or coat type.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
At 6 years old, she is pretty much the definition of sweet and easygoing. She is a quiet little girl who is always happy to see you, wagging her tail and getting excited when her people come around. She loves her cozy spots and sleeps all night in her little bed on her foster’s bed. During the day, you’ll usually find her curled up in her bed on the couch, happily snoozing the day away. She gets along well with everyone — dogs, cats, children, and even small animals. She also rides nicely in the car, making her a great little companion for adventures. She is still working on potty training. She isn't quite used to going potty on grass yet, so her foster is giving her lots of encouragement as she learns. She also seems to have a pretty low-key potty schedule, usually only needing to go out a couple of times a day. Mostly, she is just a quiet, happy, sweet little dog who wants to be loved and be near her people. If you're looking for a gentle companion with a happy little tail and a big heart, she might be your girl. -----

Hi there! I'm LakeSerene, a 5-year-old Shih Tzu! I'm ready for my forever home, and I love car rides and playing with other dogs — the more adventures, the better! 🚗 I'm a little shy at first, but I'm opening up more every day as I build confidence with the people around me. ✨ *LakeSerene would do best in a home with one or more dogs. -----
