Meet Leah – Retired Mama, Full-Time Princess! Leah is a sweet little Shih Tzu mix with a big story and an even bigger heart. For far too long, Leah's life revolved around having litter after litter of puppies. But those days are OVER! This little survivor has officially retired from motherhood, hung up her maternity pants, and is ready for a life where someone finally takes care of HER. And let us tell you, she's taking this retirement thing very seriously. Her new career goals include professional cuddling, collecting kisses, and securing the comfiest spot on the couch. A few things about our little lady: -Birthday 10/17/2023 -Leash trained – Enjoys a nice stroll, preferably followed by a nap. -House trained – She's got her manners down! -Crate trained – Knows how to settle in and relax. -Dog friendly – Happy to have canine friends but is mostly human friendly! -Kid friendly – Sweet and affectionate with children. -Certified cuddle expert – After years of caring for everyone else, she's ready to be spoiled rotten. 🥁DRUM ROLL PLEASE!!! INTRODUCING INDIA'S LIL' "HOP" FAMILY!!! Last week we posted a few candid photos of India's LABOR DAY....on Labor Day7️⃣!! And, for those of you who have been following our little Hop Orchard 🍃 crew, we first introduced you to 1-1/2 yo India and a 6 month old puppy we assume is from her first litter. Like India and West, we named the new crew also in the "Ale Inspired" 🍺theme. Meet: 🤍3rd born: Bodhi(zafa), a boy with light, almost white coloring They all started out at just under a half a pound at birth and today all are now over a pound - doubling in just a week! India started her birthing at 14.7 lbs and was down to 12.5 lbs after giving birth. This is probably very close to her regular weight to give you an idea on size. We don't know who dad is, it could be the same father as West had -truly we don't know. But we know that India is a very, very good mama!! She takes the best care of her babies and they are hitting every milestone 🐾so far! If you are interested in applying to adopt India, Lucille, Stella or Bodhi, they will be ready to go home on November 2nd. We will collect applications and not review them until the last two weeks in October. Bodhi and his siblings will be current on vaccinations for their age, Microchipped and adopted with a contract and deposit to ensure Spay by 6 months of age.

Meet India ❤️ Remember that little snaggle-toothed mama found acres from the nearest main road, deep in the hop orchards with her horribly injured puppy? She's only about 1½ years old—a darling little mix, some Shih Tzu, some Chihuahua, some terrier and who knows what else thrown in. And she is SO special. Calm. Gentle. Completely loving. The kind of little dog who seems to melt into the people caring for her. And that ridiculously cute snaggle tooth? Enormous brown eyes? We're obsessed. ❤️ But India brought something else with her from those hop fields. She was pregnant. Very pregnant. India started her birthing at 14.7 lbs and was down to 12.5 lbs after giving birth. This is probably very close to her regular weight to give you an idea on size. Indi delivered 3 very healthy lil "Hop" puppies - They all started out at just under a half a pound at birth and today all are now 8 weeks old and ready for their forever homes as well! We can't know what India's life looked like before agricultural workers found her and West out there. But we know what happens next. Her babies weren't born in a hop field. They won't grow up loose beside a road. Their mama won't raise them from the end of a chain. India is a very, very good mama!! She takes the best care of her babies and they are hitting every milestone 🐾so far! India will be spayed soon, brought current on vaccinations and Microchipped. Meet Mickey! Mickey is an adorable 3 year old Shih Tzu. He did not come from a place where he was well cared for and arrived with us quite neglected. He is doing well in his foster home and is ready to find his forever home. Mickey needs a little bit of time to trust you, but once he does he’s a very cuddly and affectionate boy! He loves to push his face into your chest and gently nibble on your hands, which is very endearing. He loves playing indoor fetch with soft toys and actually brings them back to you to throw again! He’s treat motivated and doing a great job learning commands. He walks very nicely on leash and enjoys exploring the neighborhood. When there’s nothing else going on, he’s quite happy to nap on the couch or in his dog bed. He sleeps quietly through the night in his X-pen, where he also does very well being left alone for a few hours. Mickey had a few potty accidents during his first week in foster, but none since then. He occasionally barks at noises outside, but he quiets down quickly. He rides very well in the car, and he did great with a fear-free groomer who went slowly and gained his trust. Mickey would probably do well with one or more doggie companions and possibly with cats. He came from a home with two other dogs, and he got along well with them when we brought them together for a reunion. The biggest challenge for Mickey is that he distrusts men. After 4 weeks with us, he still sometimes growls at his foster dad, but only when he is left alone with him. We suspect he would come around to a male adopter more quickly if there were another confident dog in the home to reassure him that he is safe. He would probably struggle in a home where there are frequent male visitors. Mickey is not well suited for a home with kids. He will find their movements too unpredictable. Mickey is vaccinated, neutered and chipped. His adoption fee is $450 We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495.
