The adoption fee is due on the day of adoption in the form of a check, Zelle, or cash. We no longer accept PayPal because of the percentage they take & their fees, but if the potential adopter is willing to pay the fees we will accept PayPal. At the age of merely 1 year old, Amalia was going to lose her life in one of the highest kill shelters in CA as no one was coming to save her. Pictures of her & a video was posted on FB of Amalia sitting in the shelter just begging for someone to come save her. It ripped our hearts out & we could not bare to let her lose her beautiful life. She was showing signs of neurological problems per the shelter & weighed a measly 5lbs. She was clearly almost starved to death at 5lbs. We got her out of the shelter & gave her food immediately as she was absolutely famished. She was taken straight to our vets in CA & to say he was shocked that’s an understatement. He was lost for words as we believe he thought she was not going to make it. It was extremely evident that Amalia had spent her whole life in a crate & was malnourished & that was what was causing the issues, growing in a small cage & malnutrition. Then not being able to move around in that crate. Amalia went straight into her loving foster home & the slow process began of getting calories & nutrition into her & not overwhelming her tiny frail underweight body. She started off having several small meals a day which were increased to more small meals even up until just before bed & then she started to flourish & thrive & we seen no signs whatsoever of any neurological issues. Our girl is a fighter & she wanted to live & she is now full of so much love, joy & happiness thanks to her dedicated foster mum. Our beautiful Amalia will now be looking for a home to cherish her. Amalia is being brought back to WA from CA. Amalia looks straight into your soul & your eyes with gratitude & adores being held, cuddled & played with. She has flourished in her foster home. At first she could not stand for long as she had zero energy to hold herself up. We have all of the videos & phots of the progress of Amelia’s recovery back to health & love we will gladly share with her forever home. She now has the zoomies many times a day & is so grateful to her dedicated foster mum for saving her life. She does have that cheeky puppy side of her & if some things are left out she will get into them so that has to be kept in mind with this angel & her foster family has been working with her on her puppy traits. She absolutely adores comfy beds & big comfy blankets because again the reality is, we don’t know if this is something she did get to experience ever until she was rescued. She enjoys sleeping with her foster siblings & in bed with you. She can be found sitting with her foster siblings with the dogs & cats on the couch or bed. Amalia loves a good outfit & adores her toys now she knows what they are. Amalia is wonderful with her baths & grooms as she has learnt since we got her to have them. Amalia loves to eat & is a wonderful eater now & she is not shy about that. She eats a clean diet of, 70% raw proteins, fruits, vegetables a small of grains, along with different supplements & fats. She also loves collagen sticks & bully sticks. She is the nicest shi tzu angel her foster mum said they have ever fostered. In her current foster home she enjoys going into the backyard & sunning herself & running & playing with her dog friends. She does walk really well on a harness & leash & has been taught since she has been in her devoted foster home. We are looking for a crate free home for this little lady only. Amalia as you can imagine spent such a long time in a caged environment. Please do not say you won’t crate her & then go & crate her, that is unacceptable. We are also looking for a forever home for Amalia where someone is home during the day or she can go with her people wherever possibly she can go with them. Amalia is looking for a forever home who will cherish her & love her as she should be loved & be patient with her & never give up on her. Amalia loves her dog & cat friends so much & she enjoys being with them & has never met a dog she doesn’t like. She does not discriminate against breeds. We currently have her with other dogs in her loving foster home & she plays non stop with them so it’s mandatory for her to go to a forever home with another young dog or dogs in the home for her to thrive. Amalia needs a fully fenced backyard if it’s a freestanding house. Amalia is roughly now 8 lbs, & perhaps 1 year old & possibly a shi tzu but what she is mixed with we are not sure. She is female, we are getting her spayed now she is healthy. She got her shots in the shelter, including DHPP, rabies. But once these shots expire we will not redo them as we do not over vaccinate our beloved dogs & will only redo the rabies. Amalia has been around cats since being in the rescue in her loving foster home but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together. We have not had her around children so we do not recommend children but it’s always up to the adopters to responsible with their children, cats & dogs. We were not there when Amalia was conceived so we do not know who her parents were & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think her breed is. As with all of our rescues & Amalia friends she will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Wizard is a sweet and kind bundle of energy. He is very friendly and eager to interact and play with people, kids, and other dogs. He would likely be fine with a cat but has not been tested. When it comes to energy, Wizard is a husky in a small cuddly dog body. He enjoys long walks - he gets into a flow, walks briskly like a little robot, stops to watch people at work, kids playing, squirrels, birds, takes in the smells, then back to brisk walk...rinse & repeat - for 4-6 miles everyday rain or shine. He is not spooked by occasional traffic sounds, lawn mowers, or gas blowers, so he can do long walks in a suburban setting. He will also make a great hiking buddy in the beautiful PNW. He plays well on his own with toys but likes it even more when the play is interactive with humans, e.g. tug-of-war. Once he has expended his energy, Wizard is a cuddle bug, laying contentedly on the couch with some physical contact with a human. He does well in his crate and potties outside. He will bark and scream (high-pitched) initially when left alone, but if you ignore him, he gives up after ~5 minutes and is quiet as a mouse after that. He may eventually get over this "fear of missing out" (FOMO) behavior, but currently this makes him less suited for apartment-living. He loves people and will do fine as an only dog in a home. He is a dog that will need consistent trips to the groomer, and he is great for brushing and nails. So far, he has proven to be low/no shed. Permanent, Loving Homes Needed for Senior Rescue Dogs Over many years, I have monitored and tried to help this particular group of dogs. These dogs have been loved, responsibly vetted, and cared for throughout their lives, though not in an ideal overall situation. They were in a somewhat hoarding situation… not the typical not cared for at all one, but still applies. They were kept clean and fed and I paid for most of their vet care along the way, but their owner would not surrender them until now. I am finally allowed to find them homes, and cannot provide the level of long-term veterinary care these dogs deserve — including dental work, senior monitoring, and ongoing medical needs, thus, I am seeking permanent, stable homes where their remaining years can be lived with comfort, dignity, and consistency. What I am looking for • A calm, stable home • Someone experienced with senior dogs • Financial ability to provide ongoing veterinary and dental care • A commitment to keep them for life — no rehoming • Patience, kindness, and realistic expectations These dogs are older (aged 8 to 12 years old), and while many are still active, affectionate, and content, they will require the kind of care someone prepared for senior dogs can provide. Hi, we're Misty and Lulu, real sisters (in the Seattle area) with hearts full of love. We can be adopted together or separate. We're sweet, friendly, and mellow. At 9 and 20 lbs, we're a perfectly bonded pair, if you are open to 2, but also do fine separately. We are fully vetted and ready to find a forever home where we can share our loyalty and love. We promise to fill your home with warmth and companionship. Consider making us a part of your family; we're just waiting to love and be loved in return. Despite our different looks, we are true sisters from the same purebred shih tzu mommy dog. We are 2 of the best pups there too (we don't just say that, our fosters tell us so as well). They say we are absolutely too sweet and wonderful to be stuck without a home of our own. We do great with kids, cats, and other dogs... as long as the other dogs are not bossy or mean to us. We do pretty good not pottying in the house as long as we are kept on a regular schedule going outside. We are super sweet natured. We love to see what you are doing and just be near you whatever that is. We are not super high energy, so no need to do any dramatic things with us activity wise. We just love attention and cuddles! We need to be monitored when fed so Lulu doesn't eat all of the food... she tends to like it the most and steals mine when she can. I know we aren't young puppies anymore, but please give us a chance. Our rescue has a trial designed for you... so that you can be sure we are a good fit with your situation. Our vetting up to date (spay, heartworm free and on preventative, rabies, microchip, other vaccines up to date), with the exception of our dentals that need updated. We had our last dental about 3 years ago. I (Misty) have an old eye injury that I have had since a puppy. It does not bother me I am so used to not seeing too well out of that eye.

Beacon is a six year old Shih Tzu. He’s a sweet, calm little man who is looking for a loving home. He has done really well since coming into foster care and has relaxed and is enjoying life. He is great about going potty outside on leash or roaming free in fenced yard. He is pretty quick about doing his business and isn’t bothered by a little rain. At night, he enjoys white noise (if there’s a lot of traffic sounds) but he sleeps really well all night in his space in the bathroom. During the day he comes out and hangs out with his foster mom and takes naps on the couch. He enjoys belly rubs and sitting by the fireplace. He has been very comfortable around our indoor cats. He shows no aggression towards them or any other animals he’s encountered. He has found some cat toys he likes and picks them up and carries them around. He’s slowly learning to play. He likes car rides and sits in his doggy car seat like a gentleman. He has been so good with baths and his eye meds. A calm reassuring voice is all he needs to understand that you are helping him. He is fairly comfortable around adults and teens and has shown no aggression at all. He’s getting more confident every day. He is a wonderful companion who enjoys sitting on the couch watching tv or walking around the block sniffing bushes and wagging his tail. Beacon is a good boy!

Pudding is a tiny Shih Tzu puppy with a huge personality. She’s got spunk, confidence, and just enough sass to keep things interesting. She’s pretty independent and likes to explore on her own, but the second you sit down, she’s more than happy to curl up next to you for a cuddle. She’s super curious about everything going on around her and is always ready to investigate a new sound, toy, or corner of the house. She loves to play and would do great with someone who wants a little sidekick with personality. Pudding is sweet, kind, and just wants to be your tiny best friend. Pudding sleeps in an indoor play pen and is starting to sleep through the night, but with very early wake ups! She also loves napping by your side throughout the day. Pudding is still working on potty training. She’s a young puppy but she catches on quickly. Taking her out on a regular schedule, using positive reinforcement when she goes outside, and watching for her signals at the door will help build the habit. She is good with other dogs and cats and cars, but doesn’t have experience with kids yet. She is food motivated, Good with cats, She might bark a little at with, but will bark a little bit at cats, depending on the moment Pudding is one of those little dogs that feels like she was meant to be someone’s best friend. She’s independent enough to explore and entertain herself, but she absolutely lights up when she gets attention. She’s playful, sweet, and so full of personality. You can already see what a wonderful companion she’s going to grow into with a little guidance and consistency. -----

✧ They’re learning, growing, and doing their best—but they will need patience, structure, and compassion to succeed.

The majority of these pups have lived in the confinement of a cage or kennel run for most - if not all - of their lives. Because of this, we strongly discourage the use of crates for anything other than vehicle transport. They deserve the chance to decompress and learn what true freedom and comfort feel like.

Beef Jerky Is a Shih Tzu puppy. He loves to explore his surroundings and play fight with other little dogs. So far he sleeps in a playpen. He may wake for late night for play fights, but will go back to sleep without problem. Beef Jerky is using the puppy pads most of the time, but he is still learning. He is not quite sure what to do about using the potty outside just yet, but he does love to explore the yard. Beef Jerky is not possessive of his humans. He is okay with other dogs, and children, but hasn’t had experience with cats. He is OK with cars. He has not shown any signs of aggression of any type. He is just a curious puppy. He is definitely motivated by food. -----
