Story
Have you ever wanted your own Wampa with anger management issues? Boy, do we have a deal for you!   Meet senior, 10lb Gremlin. Remember as a kid that seemingly harmless old man who’d suddenly lash out if you have the audacity to step on his lawn? Well, he’s been reincarnated in the body of a fluffy white dog. This pint size cutie packs a punch, but he’s generally chill if you learn and respect his boundaries.    Saying he’s been the “perfect houseguest” might be pushing it, but overall Gremlin is an easy dog to care for. He happily goes outside to go potty in all weather, uses a potty pad while left in his gated area, sleeps quietly through the night in his room, and is happy to be in your presence while not being all up all up in face about it.    While he absolutely seems to prefer being the only dog in the household, he’s been able to co-exist with minimal skirmishes alongside 5 other dogs in his foster home- with just a bit of management. He will tell off the other dogs if they look at him wrong, and doesn’t love sharing his space, food, or people with others. As such, if there are other dogs in the household, there will need to be a plan and rules to ensure everyone is safe comfortable, but thus far that has not proved too difficult.   If you’re looking for love at first sight or a snuggle buddy, you’re going to want to look elsewhere. Gremlin doesn’t love strangers, especially men, and will absolutely let you know that. He would likely thrive in a quieter home with no children (including children that might visit often) and minimal guests. When visitors come, he does best being gated in a quiet room, away from the commotion. Gremlin has bitten and broken skin in his previous home, so setting him up for success is extremely important.    Grem is sensitive to many types of handling, so grooming and vet visits are likely to be a bit of a challenge. He also doesn’t love being picked up, but he will happily solicit attention from those people he trusts, even rolling over for belly rubs and allowing himself to be brushed for short periods of time! He will also make it clear when he’s had enough, and need someone who listens and won’t take that personally. Boundaries are healthy! Speaking of health, Gremlin appears to have some arthritis is in back leg and takes Dasaquin to help, but he gets around fine and is currently able to run, jump and use stairs with no issues.   If you can provide a quiet retirement home for a sometimes cranky old man, that actually has a heart of gold (well, maybe silver… or copper….), please fill out an application to learn more about Gremlin!     Approximate DOB: 2013 Foster Home Location: West Allis  If you are interested in adopting one of our wonderful dogs, you can apply on our website: https://forms.gle/MGakwmFh92UiK9iM6     Please allow several days for us to process your application. We are a small, all-volunteer group and we are doing our best to work quickly! After the application is processed we will make arrangements for you to meet the dog that interest you. All of our dogs are raised in our homes and live with us until they are adopted. They live with us as part of our families so we know them very well and we can help you find your perfect dog!     Gremlin’s adoption fee: $200     All dogs are spayed or neutered, dewormed, vaccinated for rabies, bordatella and distemper, tested for heartworm and microchipped.May 27, 2023, 5:47 pm

Story
Meet Winnie! Hello, let me introduce myself! My name is Winnie, and I'm about 12 years old, and just a little over 11 pounds. I spent my entire life in a puppy mill until the people at Albert's Dog Lounge came for me. I had never felt kind touch, or even the grass beneath my feet until then. I get to live in a house now! I have comfy beds, toys, and even a foster mom to help me learn love. I try really hard to be brave when my foster mom pets me, and I think someday I may enjoy it! Right now, sometimes I'm just too scared and run away. I'm a good little girl and do my business on potty pads, and I am well-behaved while foster mom is away at work. I'm really starting to like toys and playing with them. I also enjoy the company of other dogs and even cats. Actually, another well established, laid-back dog in my forever home may help me come out of my shell. I don't mind the cat here either! I wouldn’t do well with little kids who don't understand that I may not want to be pet, but older, calmer kids would be okay for me to live with. Since everything is new to me, I will need to have a fenced-in yard and someone who understands that I haven't ever been outside to potty, and work with me on being comfortable with things like grass, a leash, and even just being pet on a regular basis. I sure hope I get my own people to co tinue my forever journey. Who knows what the future will hold, but let's have our future be together! Albert's Dog Lounge is a specialty rescue focusing primarily on senior and special needs dogs. Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a homevisit, and then a meet and greet with the dog. Adoption fee is $300, ($550 for a pair). Of Agriculture License Number: 474085-DS Disclaimer: It is VERY difficult even for a veterinarian to tell the exact age of a dog over two years old. From one vet to another, we can get different age estimates on the same dog and they can vary by several years. We are only making an educated guess based on a few factors like teeth, fur color, and overall body condition, but for dogs who have not been given adequate vet care and food, it can be even more difficult. Every dog is an individual, and we do our very best to age appropriately but make no guarantees as to the age of any dog in our program.

Story
Meet Bobby! Are you looking for the perfect little snuggle buddy? Well, I'm Bobby! I'm 8 pounds of fluffy shih tzu love. I'm approximately 10 years old, very chill, and completely housebroken. Like most seniors, my favorite things to do are eat, sleep, and walk around the yard. I'm not a dog who likes to go for long walks, as I'm not great on a leash, but I love to explore my fenced yard. I get along with other dogs, large and small, as long as they don’t step on me. I need my furry four-legged friends and my two-legged siblings to be respectful and calm, as I'm blind and don't always know when to get out of the way. So, I could live with kids, but older ones only, please. The little ones are just too rowdy. I'm also not sure how I would do with cats since I haven’t met any here yet. I get around very well, considering my handicap. I can go up stairs and I love to cuddle. I'll snuggle next to you or in your lap while watching Netflix, and I love to cuddle next to you in bed. If you think I'm the perfect gentleman for you and your family, then maybe you are the perfect family for me, and I can go home with you! Story
Meet Chloe! Greetings! My name is Chloe, and I am a 10 year old gal looking for my forever! My story is a bit of a sad one, as I found myself in rescue when my owner died. My world was turned upside down upon losing him, but don’t worry. I have thick skin. No, seriously…my skin has actually thickened over time due to some previous issues related to allergies. You may notice my hair looks a little thin in some areas, and my skin looks a bit dry but I promise I’m okay! I have some special foam and shampoo that can be used to help keep me comfortable, as well as some allergy meds I take as needed. While we are on the subject of meds, I also take one to prevent seizures. I have not experienced any while with the rescue, or in quite some time overall. So, the pills definitely work their magic. Speaking of magic, I can promise my bond with my adopter(s) will be just that! I love nothing more than being with people. I LOVE to cuddle. I hope you’ll let me snooze in your bed, occupy your lap, and come to holidays with the family! I have been attending rescue events and visiting a local nursing home and love everyone I meet! Men, women, children- lets be friends! While my thoughts on cats are unwritten, I do enjoy the company of other dogs. I would really like a calm canine pal in the home. I could thrive as your one and only if you happen to be retired, or home a lot. I do tend to bark some when you initially leave, so walls shared with neighbors are not the best type of residence for me. While I enjoy having a fenced yard, I am great on a leash so its not a deal breaker! ( I REALLY want you to stay outside with me anyway, and let my foster mom know I want to come in if she is heading inside). I am house trained, but may have a few accidents when adjusting to new surroundings. I should also mention I ride best when secured in the car. My excitement gets the best of me, and I think I should drive if left to roam the vehicle. I am only 11 pounds, so a kennel or car seat that fits nicely in the back seat will do just fine! Boy, I sure hope my forever family would like to take me places with them and love me for all of my days! Maybe you have a small space for me in your home?
