Story
Meet Kronk! Oh! Well, hello there, my name is Kronk, and I'm so pleased to meet you. I was recently brought in to animal control as a golden oldie, and I was one hot mess! I needed to be shaved down because I was so matted. I'm working on getting my skin healthy, so I'm not quite so itchy anymore. I'm just a little guy, at 16 pounds, and I need to gain a few pounds. I love food, though, even if I do need the flavors switched up once in a while. Who wants to eat the same thing day after day anyway? I get along with other dogs quite well, and I go outside to potty. I haven't met any kids or cats, but I love humans, and if you have older, teen aged kids, I could live with them. I found out that I'm what they call blind, and I don't hear so well anymore, so little kiddos might be a little much for me. Being that I'm older, I have a bit of a wonky gait, so I take some meds for arthritis, whatever that is. I'm really good about taking my meds, and that includes the ones I take to keep my eyes clean! Foster mom says I'm the bestest boy! I really enjoy wandering in the fenced-in yard here in my foster home. It lets me use my sniffer, and it keeps me safe at the same time. Even though I can't see a darn thing, that doesn't stop me from always being able to find my human if they're in a different room. I really like being close to my people, especially if that means I'll get pet by them! I would make a good snuggle buddy, too! Now I'm just looking for my forever home with my forever people. I hope you have a lap that need to be kept warm! *Kronk is being fostered in the Green Bay area. Albert's Dog Lounge is a specialty rescue focusing primarily on senior and special needs dogs. Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a homevisit, and then a meet and greet with the dog. Adoption fee is $300, ($550 for a pair). Story
About Me: Name: Marlon Breed (or best guess): Shih Tzu mix Approximate Age: 5 years Gender: Male Approximate Weight: around 15 lb Adoption Fee: $450 Requirements: Loving and patient adopter Why In Rescue: lost/stray dog Profile:  Marlon came from a local animal control where he was taken after the finder believed he was hit by a car.  He was monitored at animal control, and decided he didn't have any severe injuries and was healed other than some skin abrasions.  He was very overgrown and matted so they shaved him short, but don't worry his hair will grow back.  He is a nice little guy that would love to be part of a family again.  If interested in adopting go to www.bichonrescues.com and fill out the pre-adoption application. We do put the needs of the dog's first, so it is nothing personal if we determine a particular dog isn't suitable for your specific home and living situation. If interested in adoption, the first step is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  If link isn't clickable, please copy/paste or visit http://www.bichonrescues.com.  Please note, filling out inquiry forms on Petfinder or Adoptapet and/or their application forms does not constitute an application for one of our dogs.  Priority in responding to inquires and applications is always to the applications filled out on our website, time constraints limit the number of other inquires we can reply to. We do our best to evaluate the dogs while they are with us, but they sometimes act different in the shelter environment than they do in a home.  Many times we do not know the actual breed/mix or age of the dog, in that case we use our best guess as to breed and age.   We are located in Mukwonago, WI.  Adopters must come to us, we do not ship our dogs.  Please do not apply for a dog until you are ready to adopt.  Once an application is approved you will be notified by email to make an appointment to meet the dog.  All dogs are seen by appointment only. The adoption fee through Bichon and Little Buddies Rescue is $450 for most adults and up to $650 for puppies which includes Wi State Sales Tax.  Included in this fee is your new companion who will be spayed/neutered, have a current Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (as required by state law), current on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested (if old enough) and started on preventative, microchipped, and given a general wormer.  Other medical needs will also have been taken care of, such as dentals and treating ear infections.  To assist you and your new pet in adjusting to life together, you may chose to take an 8 week age appropriate obedience training course at For Pet's Sake Dog Training in Mukwonago, WI for $75 (up to $230 value).  You may opt to take Puppy Kindergarten, Adult Beginners, or Small Dogs Big Hearts.  You must register for the class within 90 days of adoption for the reduced fee.  For more information on the classes visit www.forpetssake.cc  More important information: ***We are a Wisconsin based rescue and do not ship our pets.  If you are considering adoption you must be willing to drive to meet and adopt the pet, as well as bring the pet back to us if the adoption doesn't work.  We adopt primarily in WI and IL, but will consider applicants in MN, IA, and MI.*** ***Please do not set up an appointment to meet the animals until you are ready to take your pet home.  If the meeting results in a match, you can often take the dog/cat home the same day or within a couple days if the medical care hasn't been completed.  We are not able to hold pets for adopters beyond this time.  Thanks for understanding.*** ***While we hope all of our adoptions lead to permanent homes for the animals we place, sometimes things just don't work out.  We do have a 30 day trial period.  For the first 30 days, if you or Bichon and Little Buddies decide that the adoption isn't a good match for either the humans or the pet, the adoption fee will be refunded minus $75 within 30 days of the return of the dog.  Bichon and Little Buddies also requires adopters to return the pet to us at any time that they are unable or unwilling to care for the animal anymore.*** ***We do not show dogs without an appointment.  The first step in adoption is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  Please do not call/email until AFTER you have filled out an application.*** Bichon and Little Buddies is a State Licensed Rescue # 268555-DS April 30, 2024, 12:19 pm

Story
Hi everybody! Ewok here! I come from the moon of Endor, 🌝 but have been on this planet about 16 weeks and weigh about 8 lbs. They tell me I look like a Shih tzu mix, but I keep telling them I am an Ewok through and through. Right now, I am currently hanging at my awesome foster home in Brighton, WI …many moons away from Endor. 🌙In foster I am learning all about potty training and walking on a leash. I already got the hang of my crate. Like other Ewoks I’m extremely skilled in forest survival, but my foster mama says I’m not allowed unattended outside. After all, she says I’m still just a little baby. 💕 So far I love practically everyone I’ve met. Kids? Older kids are the best! Cats? Cool! Other doggies? Sweet! Another dog in the household would be a great bonus, but not totally necessary. I’m an affectionate little guy who gets along with everyone. When it comes to me, I’m laidback and would do best in a calm household. I love to play but I am a perfect little gentleman and can be reserved. I look to my grownups for reassurance and I am very good at eye contact. 😍 I like to stay close because you never know when you might have the chance to get a belly rub. Those are my favorite! 💗 I think I can best be described as a little fluffy ball of love, and I would just love to find my forever home. I’m up to date on all my age appropriate shots 💉and microchipped. My adoption fee is $500 plus a $150 deposit toward my neuter. The $150 deposit may be refunded once proof of my timely neuter is given to Biggie Paws. If interested in being considered to adopt me, please fill out an adoption application under the link below.www.biggiepawsrescue.orgDATCP # 494550

Story
ROCKFORD IL - I can't believe Emma is still waiting for her forever home!! She's been waiting here ever since July! Poor little Emma lived in a nasty puppy mill in Missouri for 6 years where she was forced to have litter after litter until she no longer produced large litters. Since she was no longer profitable she was at risk to be destroyed. That's how puppy mills work. Remember that whenever you see puppies in a puppy store! Emma is now safe and ready to start living her best life. Emma is only 6 years old and weighs a svelte 11 pounds. She's been spayed and her teeth are pearly white from her dental. Emma is working hard learning to trust humans and she's come a long way. She's treat motivated which helps in training. She will come up and take a treat from your hand but prefers to scoot away with it and eat it in private. She's doing well with house training. She uses a pee pad and also uses the doggie door to go outside to do her business. If you would like to make Emma your very own you can put your application in at www.tinypawssmalldogrescue.org Adoption fee is $450

Story
Sweet Rylee a shihtzu and a retired puppy mill breeder who is looking for her furever home. She’s learning to trust people and just to be a regular pet to someone. She is 10 yrs old., 12lbs. She will need that special person to be understanding and patient and lots of love as she continues her learning. She likes to lay in an open crate or the living room near you. She’s starting to play with toys and explore the outdoors while you’re outside. Rylee gets along with her smaller foster dogs here. Learning a lot from them. When the first sound of someone getting up in the morning or comes in the door she is excited to greet you. She will do better in a quieter environment. Loud or sudden noise or movement she will be startled Rylee will come with A certificate of health UTD vaccines, spayed, and microchip. She is being fostered in Milwaukee Wisconsin.
