Hi, I’m Hobbes and I want to share my story. I was in a home before I was surrendered to Texas CARES. It was my one and only home and I was the star of the house, that is, until my family had a baby. After that, it seems I was set aside. The wonderful people at Texas CARES took me into their rescue but that is not where my story ends. You see, I am a very special boy and have had some pretty big ups and downs. In my foster home, I was having such a time using my litter box and no one could seem to figure out why I was going outside of it. They took me to the vet, where they ran tests and more tests. That wasn’t fun, because I am not a huge fan of going into the carrier (I told foster mom all about it on the ride) but I knew it was for my own good. My foster mom, along with the medical team, tried several different things. My food was changed, my foster mom used extra litter boxes, but I still would go outside the box. There was even a time where I heard talk of euthanasia. I’m not sure what that is but it sure didn’t sound good! I know my foster mom was so frustrated and really wanted to help me, but it was tough. Finally, foster mom and the medical team, along with the vets, started me on some different antibiotics and some medicine to help with my mental state. This seemed to be what was needed for me because I now use the litter box each and every time I need to go! So, you see, it took a little time, but I am finally ready to seek out a forever home. I will have to be on my special food, which helps prevent crystals in my urine, and I may have to be on my mental meds long term, but I take them like a champ. In fact, I don’t even think it’s medicine because it looks and tastes like a chicken treat. I enjoy my prescription food as well! I do get along with dogs and I have met my foster mom's cats but honestly, I’d probably prefer just to have my very own human to myself. I won’t be going up to the adoption center, so if you’d like to meet me and have a chat, my foster family will make arrangements for you to meet me! Slugger is a 7month old catten, he's FeLV/FIV negative, neutered, vaccinated, microchippped, and litter box trained. Slugger is looking for a experienced cat person with patience as he is shy at first. Best in a home with No small children, and no dogs, and maybe just one mellow kitty, he's very sweet and a little timid. My cat is about 7 months old. He is a “lush” totally lovable and needs lots of love! He’s a true Snowshoe and loves to cuddle and definitely is a lap cat! Requires much attention.

Meet Clara! Clara is a petite female Snowshoe mix born in January 2024. Clara has striking blue eyes that are sure to capture your heart. Clara has that youthful glow going on along with a lot of love to share. Clara has had a rough start as a street-savvy explorer in Fort Worth. Texas. Clara is FIV+, but that doesn`t stop her from being the sweet and affectionate cat that she is!  FIV+ means she has a compromised immune system. However, with regular vet check-ups and a healthy lifestyle, she can live a long and happy life.Clara also has a mild heart murmur, but don`t worry, she’s still full of energy and zest for life! It just adds a bit of character, right? Clara is a true cuddle bug! It’s her superpower. There`s nothing she loves more than snuggling up with her human friends for warmth and affection. She’s still new to her foster home and learning the ropes around other cats and dogs, but with a little patience and love, she’s sure to become best friends with everyone in the household. Sheelo is a very shy but affectionate cat who has had some issues with the other rescue cats living in our home. She's often bullied, which has made her very timid and skiddish. Lots of movement and noise send her hiding. She won't even show herself when strangers are present. She can take some time to warm up to a new person, but she responds well to a calm, soothing voice, a quiet and relaxed environment, plus lots of catnip and treats. She loves to play with toys, especially toy springs and cloth mice. Sheelo's a very small, but healthy and athletic cat. Not very vocal, she meows rarely, usually when she's hunting. We feel that she would be happiest as an only cat in a household that can give her more attention than we can provide. She does have litter box issues; she knows how to use it, but we believe the bullying has deterred her. Litter box retraining is a must. Love and patience are very important for earning her trust, but the extra effort is well worth it.

Charlotte is a stunning white, grey and beige snowshoe Siamese. She is probably around 2 years old and still very youthful and playful. She was found outside a Fort Worth residents’ house just after having given birth to her kittens. Meowtown was contacted and we took her and her babies in from the elements when the babies were only one day old. She attentively and patiently tended to her babies, addressing all their needs with a mother's sense and love! Raising all of them into perfectly healthy and adorable tiny little tigers, she is now ready to find her very own human to love and care for her!! She will definitely reciprocate the joy, support and love that a furry companion provides! Born 6/12/2022 Charlotte is playful and energetic and loves to chase the feather toy that is at the end of a stick. She is courteous though and will wait patiently for her turn, allowing her little kittens to play first. Once they are done playing with it or when they have moved onto some other little entertainment, Charlotte pounces in the air to catch the bird-like feather! She also knows how to cozy up in her cat tree and spend time re-charging her energy for her next play. This young cat is affectionate and loves to be with her humans, following them around and snuggling next to them when they are lounging or even sleeping. Charlotte is also quite the chatter-box! She walks around talking every time someone is around to listen and even speaks in a little purr-y, sing-song-like voice. She loves to be petted and will gladly meet and welcome anyone that comes to HER house. She has received deworming and flea treatments. Charlotte is also spayed and up to date on her vaccinations. She has tested positive for FIV but is healthy and expected to live a normal and long life. Meet totally fabulous and gorgeous Whisper! This is a sweet, curious, playful Siamese boy. With lots of love, time and patience he has learned to know what love is and is looking for his forever home with a lucky family who will love him deeply and forever. Whisper loves playing with his scratcher and small toys but most importantly, loves when his belly is scratched. He has been introduced to dogs and other cats and gets on fine with his furry buddies in his current foster home. He plays a bit hard to get but will snuggle happily once you have him close by. Meet Luigi!  He and his brother and sister came to TMHPR from a local animal shelter. They are currently living in a loving foster home. His foster mom reports that this boy is easy going and loves a good face rub. He loves people and wrestling with cat brothers (both fosters and resident cats!). He also enjoys a tasty meal. He hass THE most beautiful blue eyes on this Flamepoint Siamese boy and he is a handsome guy. Super sweet and handsome - the whole cat package.
