Hi, I’m Hobbes and I want to share my story. I was in a home before I was surrendered to Texas CARES. It was my one and only home and I was the star of the house, that is, until my family had a baby. After that, it seems I was set aside. The wonderful people at Texas CARES took me into their rescue but that is not where my story ends. You see, I am a very special boy and have had some pretty big ups and downs. In my foster home, I was having such a time using my litter box and no one could seem to figure out why I was going outside of it. They took me to the vet, where they ran tests and more tests. That wasn’t fun, because I am not a huge fan of going into the carrier (I told foster mom all about it on the ride) but I knew it was for my own good. My foster mom, along with the medical team, tried several different things. My food was changed, my foster mom used extra litter boxes, but I still would go outside the box. There was even a time where I heard talk of euthanasia. I’m not sure what that is but it sure didn’t sound good! I know my foster mom was so frustrated and really wanted to help me, but it was tough. Finally, foster mom and the medical team, along with the vets, started me on some different antibiotics and some medicine to help with my mental state. This seemed to be what was needed for me because I now use the litter box each and every time I need to go! So, you see, it took a little time, but I am finally ready to seek out a forever home. I will have to be on my special food, which helps prevent crystals in my urine, and I may have to be on my mental meds long term, but I take them like a champ. In fact, I don’t even think it’s medicine because it looks and tastes like a chicken treat. I enjoy my prescription food as well! I do get along with dogs and I have met my foster mom's cats but honestly, I’d probably prefer just to have my very own human to myself. I won’t be going up to the adoption center, so if you’d like to meet me and have a chat, my foster family will make arrangements for you to meet me! I really hope you will take a chance on me because I am a really wonderful boy and I am ready to be your best friend!  Medical:  Special Diet - He is now on CD Urinary food both dry and wet. Nestor and Tilly are a bonded duo with a snowshoe background, though not pure-bred. They are easy keepers, being well past the kitten stage, and great companions. What makes them extra special is the fact that they actually know some commands such as "sit," "lay," "bed." How about letting these two beauties enrich your life?

My wife developed severe allergies to her a couple years ago and we have really tried to figure out a way to keep her but just can not. We have had her for about 11 years and we got her from a rescue group here and we estimate she is about 11.5 years old. She is declawed in her front feet and she really just keeps to herself and at not super loving except when you are sitting or laying down and she comes up and lays on you. Any questions, feel free to ask. We have had dogs and cats around her and she really just keeps to herself and doesn’t show much interest in interacting with them.

Jake is affectionate, purrs the moment you pick him up and loves to play & cuddle. He's good with children, other kitties and small polite dogs. He came to TLC Kitten Rescue at one day old with his mother kitty and 3 siblings. His mother combo tested NEG so we know the kittens are all FeLv/FIV Neg also. This kitten has all his dewormers and first vaccination. He's scheduled to be neutered and get the rest of his vax and microchip on 1-9-26. Meet Starburst! She was found with her siblings outside an apartment complex. An adorable Siamese mix girl with the cutest white tip at the end of her tail. Her sweet little face looks like she was splattered with dust or perhaps tiny stars (it’s how she got her name!), She is all in for play and adventure and is typically racing around the foster room. She's a bit shy at first when she meets new people but does warm up. It is something her foster mom is working with her on and all the help is making a world of difference. Being born outside does take some time to work through for these impressionable youngsters. Despite a rough beginning, this girl can’t wait to find her forever home. Starburst may do best as an only cat getting all the love a family has to offer or with a cat-friendly dog companion. Her estimated birth date is July 28, 2025. Meet gorgeous Sealpoint Queso. This  Siamese girl was born in a local shelter when her mom was owner surrendered. This little family moved to a TMHPR foster home when Queso was four days old. She has grown into a sweet and simply gorgeous young girl. She is playful and fun to be around. Her foster mom reports that she is a bit shy but comes around once she knows all is good and happy on her surroundings. Likes toys of all kinds and especially enjoys under the cover games! A happy kitty.
