Story
Sugarfoot (nickname Suge) is going to be three years old July 1st. He’s looking for a loving family who can give him plenty of attention and time. Ideally he’d like a home with a backyard so he can go out and lay in the sun which he LOVES. He’s a playful energetic dog that loves chew toys almost as much as he loves snuggling up on the couch with his person. He’s vocal about his needs but once they’re met he’s happy as can be. He will also come with a crate and a bag of dogfood.

Story
I adopted Baxter 7 years ago. He has always been a handful. He and I have recently moved into an independent living retirement community and the transition is far more difficult than I imagined. The other residents complain about his barking (transitional separation anxiety, I am confident). This is a transition issue and I know it. But the others will not have it.

Story
I have had Cookie for almost 4 years and I adopted her from an agency in Atlanta, Georgia. She was previously with a family who experienced her nipping and eventually biting the teenager who continuously got in her face and taunted her. She has also had an episode of resource guarding when someone put their hand in her food bowl. Since I have had Cookie, I have not experienced any signs of aggression or disloyalty. She is such a wonderful companion and is the most loving, cuddly, warm couch potato that I know. Cookie loves long walks and car rides. She is very motivated by treats and although I haven't allowed her to socialize much with other dogs due to slight reactivity, I feel that with proper training and care, she will be excellent at coexisting with other dogs. I am pregnant and my husband and I have decided that rehoming her would be the best option with our first child on the horizon. I only want someone who will provide the best love, care and attention that I know I could!

Story
Ivory is 9 months old. Her birthday is 3/13/2025. She’s a bundle of energy and joy. A true Velcro puppy she loves to be near you. She definitely needs to be socialized to the world but shes very eager to please and the easiest little girl to train. She knows how to sit (a wiggly sit I must add) and lay down. She is also familiar with ‘touch.’ She eats anything you put in front of her and has a relatively tough stomach. Overall she just wants to give love and be loved.

Story
Meet Teddy Teddy is the definition of a velcro dog—he wants to be right by your side through thick and thin. This sweet boy knows how to “sit,” is full of gentle affection, and is happiest when he’s soaking up love and attention from his people. Whether you’re looking for a cuddle buddy, a walking partner, or a loyal best friend, Teddy is ready to give you his whole heart. Teddy also has a playful, goofy side that will keep you smiling. He’s known for doing the cutest little somersaults and even a hilarious commando crawl when he’s feeling extra happy or trying to get your attention. His silly antics paired with his loving nature make him truly unforgettable. Because Teddy bonds so deeply with his humans, he’s looking for a family who will cherish him as much as he’ll cherish them. He thrives on companionship and will gladly return every ounce of love you give him. If you’re ready for a devoted, sweet, and affectionate companion—with a side of goofball—Teddy is waiting to meet you! Story
Snuggler!MEET BLUE!   Blue is in need of a foster or adopter due to incompatible living circumstances. Blue and Pablo are (adopted) siblings who are just not that into each other. So sadly, one must find new accommodations. One, not both, so if you didn’t have room for Pablo could Blue be the one?? Here’s her pitch for why you should Go Blue!...   “Hi, I’m Blue! My brother and I don’t get along anymore. Do you have any relatives that you just don’t want to hang out with? Yeah, it’s like that. It’s not that I don’t like dogs, but he just bugs me. I’d like to have a say in picking out a new brother or sister! Thanks for understanding.   “I am a little over 6 years old and have been with my family since I was a puppy. We think I am a Staffordshire Bull Terrier/Jack Russell Terrier mix. I love people…LOVE PEOPLE! Believe me when I tell you, I have never met a stranger. I currently stay off the furniture but if you let me, I will happily nap on your lap or just sit and watch TV with you. It’s not like I am heavy; I only weigh 46 pounds!    “Being destructive is not in my nature. I don’t touch shoes or chew on anything I am not supposed to. I know what belongs to me and what doesn’t. By the way, my favorite toys are stuffed and make crinkly sounds. After years of toy exploration, I have found what floats my boat!    “I have an easy-going nature but when I am excited over something, I go all in. My exercise requirement is low to medium. I like to walk and sniff. An occasional run is good, but I really enjoy walking and exploring more. I make friends easily, so I would be happy with another dog buddy or even a cat since I had a kitty buddy in the past.”    Blue’s adoption donation fee is $400, which includes spay/neuter, routine vetting and a microchip. You can apply for Blue by filling out our online application, which is found on our website www.tarashouse.org.  Please email us at info@tarashouse.net with any questions.August 11, 2025, 8:21 pm
