Story
Meet Egypt, the adorable and affectionate canine companion who's ready to steal your heart. With glowing references from her previous family, Egypt has proven herself to be a gentle and loving soul, especially with older kids whom she adores. Her playful nature extends to dogs of all sizes, as she has happily lived with a small dog and enjoyed romping with both large and small furry friends. While Egypt's exuberance knows no bounds when it comes to toys and playtime, she does have a bit of a feline fixation, requiring a home where cats are kept separate. However, her boundless affection and friendly demeanor make her a cherished addition to any family. Egypt is currently excelling in crate training and is fully housebroken, showcasing her intelligence and eagerness to please. Although she may be a tad shy in new environments, her sweet disposition shines through, making her the perfect companion for a quieter household with older children, where she can continue to spread joy and laughter with her endearing personality.

Story
Dog:Paulie Age:5.5 Weight: 75 lbs Location: Hagerstown, MD Nicknames: Pauliewogs, Paulie D, Piddly Diddly Doo Good with other dogs?: Dog selective.Paulie has lived with a smaller female previously. He gets over stimulated however, so slow introductions WILL be necessary. He seems to like a smaller dog better. He does not know boundaries, so he is wanting to go face first right away. We are currently working on polite greetings. He would do best as an only dog as he loves attention and loves his humans. Good with cats? no Good with children? unknown, will not be adopted to a home with kids under 10 Activity Preference: Needs a couple walks a day., Needs in-house activities, Low maintenance overall but needs quality outside time., Will go with the flow, Champion couch potato IQ: Smart Paulie's favorite things: Paulie loves car rides, bones, treats, meal time, hanging on the couch with his humans, belly rubs, laying in the sun, walks to sniff around the neighborhood, sitting in a window to keep eyes on the neighborhood. Paulie is good at: meeting people, staying in a crate, behaving in the house, going for car rides, making me feel safe, walking on a leash, cuddling, following commands Ideal home: no children, quiet environment, someone at home most of the day, a fenced yard, Lots of exercise opportunities Training Needs: socialization with dogs Health issues: Paulie does seem to have a sensitive stomach, so sticking with his food, and meat treats is important. But he is getting better each week! Meet Paulie Paulie is literally “man’s best friend”. He has not met a human he did not like. He thrives off of human attention and loves quality time cuddling on the couch or just being by your side. He is a couch potato but gets spurts of energy and is always up for a walk. Paulie is extremely smart and picks up tricks and training so fast! He is food motivated so training has been easy. He loves treats and is gentle 90% of the time (10% when he is super excited he grabs quick, but not 'biting quick'). Paulie can be mischievous so when he's unattended he needs to be in his crate to keep him safe. He loves chasing squirrels in the backyard, and the occasional zoomie run around the yard too! Paulie is a big love bug and just wants to be your best friend. He loves his spot on the couch looking out the window keeping an eye on the neighborhood. PLEASE READ: Adopters will not be considered without completing an application. Story
Please contact Debbie (Deb@AmericanbulldogRescue.org) for more information about this pet.She is just precious!  Dog's Name: Galaxie Monroe Age: 3-4 years old, estimated dob: 7/22/2020 Weight: 58 lbs Location: Philadelphia, PA Nicknames: Gallie  Good with other dogs?: Yes. Good with cats? Lives with cats in her foster home but is very interested in chasing them.  She would make a cat miserable. Good with children? Unknown.  Will not be adopted to a home with very small children.  No children under about 10. Activity Preference: Yes please! Walks, zoomies, exploring the yard, naps. IQ: average Favorite Things: Loves to play, go on walks, chew a bone, suck on a blanket or soft toy, lay next to you. Good at: meeting people, meeting dogs, staying in a crate, behaving in the house, going for car rides, being tolerant of a dog who tries to bully her Ideal home: fenced yard, an adult home a lot, where she will get lots of exercise Training Needs: basic training,  She probably never lived in a home before.  Her foster is working with her to learn basic commands. Health issues: No health issues.   Meet Galexie: Gallie is a young lady who recently arrived a ABR.  She hasn't been with us very long and we still getting to know her.  We will update her bio as learn more.   She is such a good girl and a real sweetheart.  Her journey to Philadelphia was a long one with a plane plus lots of driving. When she arrived she was happy and friendly even though she must have been exhausted and confused.  She has been nothing but that same happy, friendly dog.  Gallie is a dainty girl with little girly paws, sparkling black eyes, and fur that is so soft you have to touch it.  She loves to be touching you and gives kisses freely. She is house and crate trained.  Galaxie follows direction... most of the time -nobody is perfect :) - with more consistency and training she will be pretty darn close!  She does great with other dogs and is pretty submissive.  If she were to have a canine companion in her forever home, a male with the same personality would be the best fit to be sure that Galaxie is not bullied.  We will require a fenced yard for her. We are still unsure about cats but will update on that soon.  Because we don't know for sure, we cannot say she can safely live with small children.  While she didn't like it she let her foster mom give her a bath, clean her ears, and cut her nails.  That is what we know so far.  Look for updates! Nami is a very loving dog who loves walks and cuddles. I have a lot of life changes and a very demanding job so I have to rehire her. Nani is a very energetic dog so very small children is not recommended. She would do best in a home with a fenced on yard where she can run and get burn energy. Nami is very timid around men so she will take some getting used to.

Story
Red comes from a litter of 11., I own both Mom and Dad, We took in Red t 5 1/2 months , after my mother who is handicap could not keep him because of his size and the fact he wanted to be a lap dog became to much for her in her condition. All the dogs got along great until Red reached a mature age ., at that point the father and him did not get along as there was a challenge between father and Son for Alpha Male position. He has never shown aggression only until that point He does not get along with Alpha's as he is one. He is House trained crate trained, He is lovable, great with my children, great with female dogs , loves affection, gives paw, sits, stays, loves tugg toys, tough chew toys ,and squeek toys He needs body harness as he gets excited to be out, but hates ballons...lol his nick name is Baby bear. I would like him to have a loving happy home surrounded by love and a fenced in place to run. Please.. Help in need of home.

Story
Meet Tulip, an adorable girl full of sweetness! At approximately 1.5 years old and weighing around 40 pounds, she's eagerly searching for her forever family. Just take a look at that heartwarming smile – it's a testament to the love and energy she's ready to share.Tulip is an affectionate soul who adores everyone she meets, be it kids or kitty friends. Tug of war is her favorite game, especially when involving a leash (though she's still learning leash manners). Chewing on toys is another of her delights. She's mastered sitting and is in the process of learning "bed" for her kennel. This charming pup is both house and crate trained, making her an ideal addition to any loving home. Tulip thrives on belly rubs and cherishes being close to her humans. With a strong appetite for treats, she's easily motivated. It's worth noting that Tulip has a special fondness for kitties! While she hasn't had extensive exposure to other dogs, her exuberance and playfulness may need careful introduction. During a recent meet and greet, she exhibited some misunderstanding of her size and energy level, responding to another dog's growl with a playful nip to the ear. With the right guidance and patient introduction to other dogs, Tulip is sure to bring joy and love to her forever home. She is up to date on vaccinations, on monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, microchipped, has been dewormed multiple times, heartworm negative, and is spayed.Ready to make Tulip a permanent part of your family? Story
9 month old Loki is such a squatty, happy little pup! He is only 46 pounds and won’t get too much bigger than he already is. He was surrendered to a high kill shelter in Texas due to financial issues and since we rescued him, he’s proven just how special he really is! Loki is a well-trained and well-behaved pup, both in the house and outside. He only barks occasionally as an alert and enjoys sleeping on the couch or in his crate with the door open, whichever he prefers. He does well with baths and nail trimming too!  He's incredibly friendly and gets along well with dogs, cats, children, and even visitors to his foster home. We found out that he came from a home with 5 kids between ages 6-12 years. Loki loves playing with other dogs and his toys. He walks well on leash, doesn't jump, and always eager to please. In terms of personality, Loki is very loving, happy, and always eager to please. He's a great rider in cars, enjoys cuddles, and has a fondness for kids, toys, and treats. Loki would do well in any type of home, whether with or without kids, as he loves everyone and is adaptable. While he enjoys the company of other dogs, it's not a necessity for him. Loki is content both alone and with humans around, making him a versatile and loving addition to any family. And yes, he's allowed on the furniture in his foster home—cuddles included! His ideal family would have kids as he loves them so much!! Whoever adopts Loki will be SO very lucky.  DISCLAIMER- Breed type is determined based on general appearance and behavioral characteristics and cannot be guaranteed unless DNA test results or AKC registration were provided at intake. ***MOST OF OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN TEXAS, BUT AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION AND TRANSPORT OUT OF STATE. Story
**SPECIAL NEEDS - Blind, Hearing Impaired, Neurologically Impaired but no actual medical needed for her-- Needs Local Adopter ** Mila was found in a ditch at only 5 weeks old by a good samaritan and taken to the shelter in SC. It was very clear that something was wrong as she was not able to move and was crying from pain. We immediately pulled her and had her rushed to the ER where she was treated for dehydration and parasite infestation. It became evident that there was something wrong neurologically with Mila and we were told she may not survive. Mila is a little walking miracle and today, at 3 years old, she is doing amazing. She was seen by our neurologist who confirmed that she is blind in one eye and extremely visually impaired in the other and is hearing impaired. She also has some damage to the back right side of her cerebellum which keeps her a little off balance. The good news is that she has a completely functional and good quality of life. She is the happiest little girl who prances around the house and loves to be outdoors in the sun. She gets excited when other dogs come around and she likes to snuggle with her humans and canine siblings. While she is not able to play fetch, go hiking or for walks like a normal dog, she does enjoy marching aimlessly around a fenced in yard with the sun in her face. She can live with anyone and anything as she is not a threat to any living being. She can be with babies, kids, dogs, cats, guinea pigs.... any animal in the world. She is able to go up the stairs but cannot go back down so she does need to be carried if she is to use stairs. She adapts super quick to new environments and finds her away around with no problems. She really is an exceptional little girl who just needs a family to give her a chance. She is very sweet and fun to be around. She has been looking for a home for 3 years and deserves to finally have a family to call her own. To adopt our special little Mila, please apply at http://keytolionsheart.org/adopt    May 1, 2024, 9:19 pm

Story
Toccoa, is a very special boy. He is beyond loving and just wants to be with you at all times. We rescued him from a DC pound, 7 years ago. They estimated he was a year old at the time, making him about 8 years old. We are looking to provide him a home with someone who is loving, kind and patient. He has separation anxiety and anxiety induced IBD, both have been regulated with medication. He is crate trained and potty/house trained. He loves hiking, car adventures, walks, as long as he is with you, he is the happiest of campers. He loves to snuggle and be snuggled, the ultimate love. Unfortunately, we will be moving out of the US and think that the move would be detrimental to him. We do not want to put him under the stress of multiple days/legs of travel cramped in a tiny crate. It would be selfish of us to try. We are looking to rehome him with the heaviest of hearts. We adore him and all his quirks and just want to see him rehomed with someone who will love him as their own.
