This energetic, happy guy is always on the move and always ready to make you laugh. If you’ve been hoping for a dog with personality for days, George delivers. George is super friendly and very funny, with a zest for life that’s contagious. He gets along great with other dogs and enjoys having canine pals to play with. He’s also been curious but respectful around a cat and did really well—definitely a promising sign for a multi-pet home. Zeke is a medium Poodle mix puppy with a soft, wavy coat and a very gentle, submissive temperament. He is 4 months old and currently 25 lbs. Based on his growth curve, he is expected to mature around 40–50 lbs, most likely in the mid40s. Zeke’s mom is a small Beagle, but he does not look or behave like a Beagle. What he inherited is the Beagle’s sweet, peopleoriented nature paired with the Poodle’s soft coat and intelligence. He is calm, sensitive, and wants to follow his person everywhere. He has been great with other dogs and would do well in a home that enjoys a friendly, mediumenergy companion. Like all puppies, he will need continued socialization, positive training, and routine structure as he grows. If you are looking for a gentle, medium-sized doodletype puppy, Zeke is a wonderful match.   Adoption Requirements • A fenced in backyard. No invisible fences. If your condo or HOA does not allow fencing, we may consider your application case by case. • An adult who is home during the day and able to provide the time, supervision, and companionship a puppy needs. • No crating for puppies. Adopters must use a puppy playpen. We will share recommended options once your application is approved • Children in the home must be 7 years or older. Younger children may be considered if they have grown up with a dog. • Homes with no dogs or a one dog household will be considered. No multi dog households. A deposit is required to place a hold on a puppy once your application is approved. We take a deposit because preparing puppies for adoption requires coordination with multiple foster homes, arranging schedules, and making sure each puppy is ready for its appointment. When someone cancels at the last minute, it affects our foster families, our volunteers, and other approved adopters who were waiting for a chance to meet that puppy. The deposit shows that you are committed to attending your scheduled appointment. We do not offer separate meet and greets for puppies. Your appointment will serve as both your meet and greet and your adoption day. If you decide not to adopt after meeting the puppy, your deposit will be refunded. The Adoption Fee is $475 All puppies are vet checked, vaccinated, dewormed, spayed or neutered, microchipped, and have received heartworm and flea preventatives. Once your application is approved, a 50 dollar deposit can be placed to hold your puppy until adoption day. FOSTERED IN: Chicago, IL 60619 ESTIMATED DOB: 2013 WEIGHT: 9.5 lbs KIDS: Older DOGS: Yes CATS: Yes HISTORY: Motor came to us from a local Animal Control facility where he was turned in as a stray. ABOUT: Motor’s foster mom said he is a “pretty regular dog.” Motor is cuddly and loves attention. He is smart and quickly and easily adapts to your schedule. He is very food motivated for any training needs. His foster mom says he sometimes “doesn’t hear you” the first time you ask, but does as asked if you repeat yourself. Motor is good on leash and enjoys going for walks. He also enjoys lounging outside when the weather is nice, but isn’t a fan of very hot weather. He is a little anxious in the car and gives a quiet whine until he gets to the destination. Motor knows both sit and come. He also enjoys stuffed toys (especially if you play with him), but the rope toys with stuffies on the end only collect dust. Motor has been fine with everyone he has met both inside and outside the home, he seems to be pretty easy going with new people and doesn’t get overly excited. He seems to look to his foster mom for guidance on how to act with new people. Motor’s foster mom keeps him gated in one room of the house when no one is home, but even at 13 he has come up with some creative solutions to get under or over it. His foster mom said “I guess you can say he is really not closed off” 🤣 Motor is being fostered with a cat and other dogs and he has done well with both. Motor is not being fostered with children, but his foster thinks he will do fine with kids old enough to be respectful of a senior dog. Motor is housetrained, but like many male dogs he likes to do the occasional recreational peep, but he is agreeable to wearing belly bands to control this. Motor will bark to let you know he needs a potty break. Being a senior fellow, Motor will probably thrive in a home with a reasonable amount of routine and consistency.
