If you see a pet here, they are still available for adoption and you should apply through our adoption application on our website at  https://www.arf-il.org/adopt/application/   This dog is a 4-5 year old female Standard Poodle who weighs in at 48.8 pounds.  This dog's adoption fee is $600.  If you are still interested, please read more below. This girl’s name is actually Nella. She came to us as a male, 1 year old, golden doodle named Lenny, but surprise she is a girl! The vet also believes she is actually a standard poodle and about 4-5 years old. She is a very gentle, sweet girl, but still very scared of life. She likes to stay in her spot all day unless she goes for a walk. She does great walking on leash, and she loves to walk her same path everyday, multiple times a day! She also loves any sort of edible chew toy that you give her. Nella girl loves to be brushed; it puts her right to sleep!! Because we don’t know her exact story, we have been learning some of her triggers as we go. She is still very nervous with just about everything! It will take her time to settle in. We think there must have been some trauma for her with cars, because she is still nervous around them. She prefers women and has adjusted better to women in the house versus men. Nella has very specific routines that she likes to follow, but she is a very sweet girl!! She would do best in a home without kids, because she likes to be in a quiet, peaceful environment. She doesn’t mind other dogs as long as they happily ignore her, but she isn’t one for really engaging with them. If you have the time, patience, and love to let her settle in on her own time, she would be a great dog for you! She is fully crate-trained, house-trained, and leash-trained! This dog is microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations, housebroken, and spayed.  This dog's family will be required to complete a basic obedience course of their choosing.  A meeting will not be scheduled until you have an approved application, so if you are interested in adopting this dog, fill out an Online Application today!  Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will contact you to arrange a meeting.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.   Thank you for considering a rescue pet from A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation! Meet Pepper — a perfectly seasoned little pup with just the right dash of sweetness. Pepper earned her name thanks to her silky black coat sprinkled with the most adorable white accents on her chin, belly, and paws—like salt shaken just so over a classic favorite.Right about 2 months old, this girl will probably grow up to be around 80 lbs. Pepper is truly a heart-melter. Her playful spirit, soft curls, and gentle nature make her a joy to be around, whether she’s romping with her foster’s Doberman or soaking up love from kids (she’s wonderful with them!). She’s been impressively polite for a puppy, sticking to puppy pads from day one, and while she enjoys exploring the outdoors, she’d prefer to do it without the chill—this girl is more cozy café than frozen tundra.Toy-loving and eager to please, Pepper is easily redirected if curiosity gets the best of her. At night, she sleeps soundly in her own bed… though she’d happily accept an invite to snuggle with her people instead. She’s generally a quiet pup, but if she feels left out, she’ll let you know with a soft little puppy protest—after all, no one likes missing out on the fun.In short? We pulled Colby along with his brother and sister from a high kill shelter in GA when they were 10 weeks old. Their mom is a pure bred Black standard Poodle that was allowed to run and she came home pregnant. All three pup look a bit different, so we are sure there were different dads. Colby looks like he has Brittany spaniel in him but that is only a guess He has long wavy hair a scruffy face and seems to be very low shedding. Colby's brother and sister have now gone to their new homes, and he is anxiously waiting for his family! We think that Colby will be close to 60 lbs when grown. He loves people although a bit shy at first and he loves other dogs. He is one happy boy all the time. We're all just crazy about his cuteness! He is now 8 months old and UTD on shots and has been neutered and microchipped Colby is happy, playful and affectionate. He would be a great addition to any family. These seven pups were brought to one of our partners as an unwanted litter after their family could no longer care for them. These puppies are friendly, smart, and eager to please. They have started leash training and are doing very well. During their time with us, they have gotten along great with our staff, volunteers, and other dogs. They co-house peacefully and enjoy both playtime and settling in for quiet moments.Two of the pups recently attended an adoption event and absolutely loved meeting new people—they soaked up the attention and handled the busy environment beautifully.They would do well in an active home, with a yard to explore, or with families that have older children.
