Meara is a senior dog who acts younger than her years. Playful, loves affection. Good with other dogs, but chases cats. She is learning to walk without pulling on leash. She does not jump up on you. Meara is very sweet and loves attention. She is housebroken and behaves well in the house. She was found by Animal Control from an apartment area. Her owner was not found. She was flown up to Almost Home from Texas. Meet Archie, an adorable and goofy 25lb, 5-year-old male, who is guessed to be a Poodle/Schnauzer type mix. He was found as a stray and sadly went unclaimed. He was adopted from animal control, but unfortunately the other dog in the home did not like him, so they surrendered Archie to us. Archie is playful and loves going on walks, sniffing around, and being with people. He's a sweet guy who just wants to be with someone. He is very treat motivated and knows "sit." He has done well for grooming/brushing for our staff. Archie is not a fan of being crated but he has made progress and is manageable to crate for necessary crating such as vet/grooming appoints. Archie is looking for a patient home to allow him to decompress and relax, so he can show his sweet, silly personality! He would do best in a home with no young children or cats. While he is dog friendly, he is not a fan of sharing his stuff with them, so would do best as the only pup in the home.Archie is healing up from FHO surgery he had in March, which is going very well! His recheck is coming up, where we will know more about what the remaining time to heal will look like.

I love taking people out on walks, so much so that they have to remind me that I’m the one getting walked and not to pull them so much. I’ll learn I just need more practice! I’d be a great addition to many types of homes, but my dream house includes a yard with room to run and stocked groceries to help me get a bit more weight on. I’m about 50 pounds and a year and a half old. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Sweet Tilly is an 8-month-old doodle who will be available for adoption soon! Right now she is decompressing in a loving foster home and doing great. Her foster family says she is slowly starting to come out of her shell and it has been so rewarding to watch. She is consistently eating dry kibble now and has finally discovered that snacks are pretty amazing — which means they can start working on some simple training. This past weekend Tilly got a little time to run around, although they kept things calm and slow for her while she adjusts. Her foster mom thinks she finally trusts her enough for a bath, so that adventure may be happening soon too! One of the sweetest things about Tilly is how she experiences everything like it’s the very first time. She isn’t anxious — just curious, exploring and discovering the world around her. It’s incredibly adorable watching her little personality start to peek out from under all that wiry fluff. Her foster says this photo was about all the posing Tilly was willing to tolerate… although she may have been far more excited than Tilly was. Tilly continues to settle into the chaos of everyday life and is making wonderful progress. We can’t wait to watch her confidence grow and eventually find the forever home she deserves. She's a soft, curly-coated girl with the kind of eyes that make you stop whatever you’re doing and just be with her for a moment. She is hypoallergenic and impossibly fluffy, the kind of dog you bury your face in just because you can. If she finds you on the couch, she rests her chin on your knee, she follows you from room to room just because you’re her person and she wants to be near you. She is smart. She picks things up quickly and has a quiet emotional intelligence. She's playful in the most charming way. A toy here, a little zoomie there. Abbie has Addison’s disease, a manageable condition that requires a calm, low-stress home and a family who is prepared for her daily veterinary needs. She doesn’t ask for much, but she does ask for stability & routine. She would thrive as the heart of a quieter household. If you have a calm home she's all ready for you. She just needs the right place to prove it.
