Story
If you would like to apply to take LUCY home, click the link next to their picture, or Visit our website at Www.godogsgorescue.org and fill out an application! We look forward to hearing from you. Lucy is a 4-year-old Poodle mix/Doodle with a sweet soul and an affectionate nature. She originally came from a rescue, where she was found wandering and severely matted. Since then, Lucy has received the care she needed and is now groomed, spayed, and up to date on all veterinary care. She is a well-mannered girl who is both house-trained and crate-trained. She takes food gently, sits politely, rides comfortably in cars, and is non-reactive on walks. She enjoys other dogs in neutral settings and could live with a compatible canine companion of a similar size and temperament. However, she will benefit greatly from additional training and support by an experienced owner. She’s happiest when she can spend time outdoors walking, hiking, or exploring, but she’s also content relaxing on the couch with her person. Lucy truly wants to be part of the family and will thrive where she can be an integral part of daily life. Lucy would do best in a home without children. She tends to be more comfortable with women and may need some extra time to warm up to men, but with gentle handling and positive reinforcement, she forms strong bonds and becomes a very loving and loyal companion.

Story
Meet Milo — the kind of dog people dream about and hope to find.  This gorgeous Apricot Doodle, weighing 55 pounds and 4 years young, is the total package and ready to bring joy to a new family. Milo has been with his family since puppyhood, and as life changed and children came along, they realized that Milo deserves more time and attention than they can give. It’s a loving, thoughtful decision made with Milo’s best interests at heart — because there is truly nothing lacking in this wonderful boy. Milo is fantastic with young children, housebroken, crate trained, and has a calm, well-mannered personality that makes him an ideal family companion. He’s the kind of dog who settles easily, loves being included, and just wants to belong.   Critter Cavalry Rescue will be helping Milo find the perfect match and will be making sure he is neutered and fully up-to-date on vet care on 1/14. From there, he’s ready to step right into a lucky family’s life and become someone’s best friend. Trust us — someone is going to hit the jackpot with Milo.  To learn more, please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJanuary 12, 2026, 9:04 pm

Story
Fenway was adopted from a Mennonite breeder in Pennsylvania in October 2023 when he was six months old. He is a 50/50 mix of Standard Poodle and German Shepherd. He has a poodle-type coat and does not shed. He is truly a good dog and very alert—he’s vocal when anyone or anything comes onto our property. He does well with other dogs and people when introductions are made outside the home, but he is naturally protective and will not allow strangers inside without a proper introduction. Unfortunately, Fenway is simply more dog than we are able to handle. He needs to stay busy and would thrive with plenty of outdoor time and activity. He is not a couch potato, and I’m unsure whether that will change as he gets older. I am currently undergoing knee replacements, and have to medicate him to prevent accidental injury to me, which feels unfair to him. Fenway is crate trained and even puts himself to bed when the TV goes off at night. I love him very much, and this situation is not his fault.

Story
Meet Coco! Don’t be surprised if you fall in love with his silly, scruffy face immediately. This guy still has a heart full of love to give! He’s calm and sweet and loves to snuggle close to his people. He’s also been getting along great with his canine friends here at our shelter. Coco is apparently deaf, which means loud noises, doorbells, and you calling his name from across the room are simply not his problem. This may be genetic or age-related, but the good news is that his physical exam showed no other abnormalities- he’s otherwise feeling just fine. Because he can’t hear cars or other environmental noises, Coco will need a home that understands the importance of keeping him safely supervised, especially outdoors or near traffic. What Coco lacks in hearing, he makes up for in personality. He’s great at reading vibes, routines, and affection through gentle touch. He’s a wonderful companion for someone looking for a loyal, low-key friend who will happily share quiet moments, naps, and unconditional love.capeannanimalaid.org/dogapp
