Story
Meet Love, a 4½-year-old large Spaniel mix with a gentle soul who`s looking for someone willing to let her bloom at her own pace. New people can be a little intimidating for Love, and she may be shy when you first meet her, but with a little patience and kindness, she warms up surprisingly quickly and lets her sweet personality shine.Love truly enjoys the company of other calm, friendly dogs and would likely thrive with a respectful canine companion who can help boost her confidence. She`s happiest around easygoing friends and would love a home that matches her relaxed personality. Because she can be sensitive to new situations, Love is looking for an adult-only home where she can settle in without the hustle and bustle of young children. With slow, proper introductions, she may also do well with a dog-savvy cat.Like many Spaniels, Love arrived at the shelter with a double ear infection. While this may have simply been a one-time issue, her breed and those thick, floppy ears make her more prone to developing ear infections throughout her life. Her new family should be comfortable monitoring her ears, keeping them clean and dry, and working with their veterinarian if ear issues arise in the future. If you`re looking for a loyal companion who just needs a little time to trust, Love is ready to show you just how deserving of her name she is. Give her a chance, and you`ll gain a devoted best friend who will happily spend her days by your side.

Story
PLEASE NOTE: This dog is currently out of state but will be transported to Massachusetts shortly with no additional travel costs. Roughly 90% of our dogs are adopted prior to their transport up to MA and 10% are adopted locally.Meet Skylar! She is approximately 10 months old, 48 lbs currently and she may have some Doodle in her mix! Skylar was surrendered after her family decided they didn`t have time for her. In her foster home, she is working hard on her house training, crate training and leash walking. She could join households with kids 10+ and other dogs. She has not been exposed to cats. Her foster says, `Skylar is a gorgeous pup. She is perfect in the car, was perfect at her vet appointment, does well in her crate, and is non-destructive. She has only had a few accidents inside. She loves to play outside and will run after toys when you throw them but hasn`t learned to bring them back. She`s really a wonderful girl and will be a lot of fun for some lucky family.`She is available for adoption in N Dartmouth on September 11 or possibly earlier. Please fill out an application on our website at https://www.browndogcoalition.com/adoptable as a first step.-Dogs may not be given as gifts or surprises.-Please thoughtfully discuss with your entire household the physical, safety, financial and emotional responsibilities of a dog BEFORE applying to adopt.- More information about our adoption process, application and adoption fees can be found at browndogcoalition.com

Story
James was adopted into a home with other dogs but is having difficulty with sharing the home. His adopter has made the difficult decision to rehome James. He is a 2 year old Poodle/Doberman/Akita. He is neutered and was just seen at the vet for a check up. When asked to describe James, we were told he is loving, playful and quick to learn. If you are looking to add an easy companion who prefers the company of people over other animals, send us an email at support@almosthomeri.org We are asking a donation be made to the rescue in lieu of our standard adoption fee.

Story
Meet Clancy is you want a walking buddy look no further. Clancy does not need doggie day care or a fenced yard he just needs you to walk him as many times a day as you want. He would walk to New England to find his forever family if we let him. He see's his leash and he is ready to GO. He was brought to the shelter because his gorgeous coat requires upkeep. His previous owners couldn't keep up with his grooming needs. To stay handsome and tangle-free, he will need regular visits to the groomer. He is currently crate trained and loves a big crate with lots of space to hang out. He is fostered with other dogs of different ages and sized and he has had no issues. He does not seem to need a dog around as long as he has his person. He has not lived with children that we know of so we would suggest children over 7. He is also not cat tested. Clancy is very loving and after the long walks he will curl up with you and be your best friend. So please put your walking shoes on and let Clancy lead the way to all kinds of fun adventures.Name: ClancyBreed: Poodle/Pom  (Breed mix is not guaranteed-no DNA testing done).Sex: MaleAge: 2 years 1 month (estimated as of 7/11/26)Weight: 12 lbsSpayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Negative on recent testingMicrochipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS:Good with Children: Over 7Good with Dogs: YesGood with Cats: UnknownAdoption Fee: $550.00  (includes transport fee when applicable)                       $100-150 additional mandatory quarantine fee for Massachusetts residents.Location of dog currently:    Tennessee IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue; our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south & New England.  Adoption donations cover pre-adoption veterinary costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age-appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England, if necessary.Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse, whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. Story
Meet Hunter! Hunter is lookng for a nice quiet home to call his own. He loves playing with toys and cuddling up with his close friends. Hunter has been noted to be quite worried with strangers, so is looking for patient adopters that can give him time and space to warm up. He could live with other dogs, but can be selective in his dog friends so would prefer another lower energy, polite friend.
