Story
DOB: Sept 2, 2023 Wayne is being fostered at one of Toronto Cat Rescue’s Vet Clinic partners locations. Please note that if you’re approved to adopt, you’ll need to pick them up from the store within 24 hours of being approved. Wayne is a playful, food-motivated guy with a big personality and an even bigger love for toys. Ping-pong balls, springs, anything he can bat across the floor — Wayne is all in. He’s curious, active, and always ready to turn everyday objects into a game. Wayne is currently on an exclusive urinary diet due to a history of urinary crystals, and he’s doing well on it. His future home will need to be committed to keeping him strictly on this diet to support his long-term health — thankfully, Wayne makes this easy, because he loves his food. He prefers to be the only cat in the home, as he doesn’t enjoy sharing his space with other cats. In the right environment, where he can be the centre of attention, Wayne truly shines. If you’re looking for an entertaining, toy-loving companion who will keep you smiling and happily supervise mealtimes, Wayne might just be your perfect match.

Story
5 Years old Please note, this is a posting through the Courtesy Adoption Program. Please contact the current owner directly for more details. Their details are below. Toby is a very cute cat who loves to lounge in the sun. He takes time to open up to new households and new people but once he does he is very affectionate. He loves to knock around and play with fast moving targets, especially a paper ball. He doesn't like being handled or picked up too much, he much prefers to be handled on his own terms. Most of his day is spent sleeping, grooming and chasing around paper balls. He also inexplicably loves to rub himself on the hallway rug. As to his behaviour with others, not sure if he is good with children and other cats or dogs since he has only always lived in a one person, no pets household his entire life. He warms up to others after some initial trepidation, but once he does, he is a gem. He has lived in apartments but loves to walk out in the hallway and explore. He is litter trained and is used to apartment living. Has a bit of separation anxiety in that he becomes very clingy once you are back from a trip. Tends to eventually follow you into whichever room in the house you are currently situated in and curl up there. Toby is up-to-date on vaccines. Toby is participating in our Courtesy Adoption Posting Program and is not the property of Toronto Cat Rescue. Toronto Cat Rescue does not accept responsibility for any pet placements that result from this service. Story
DOB: Oct 7, 2024 Elvira is being fostered at one of Toronto Cat Rescue’s pet store partner locations. Please note that if you’re approved to adopt, you’ll need to pick them up from the store within 24 hours of being approved. Elvira is full of curiosity and cuddles. She’s a little explorer at heart, always sniffing out new toys, checking every corner, and keeping a watchful eye on her world. She can be chatty, letting you know when it’s playtime or simply sharing her thoughts. Elvira adores affection, especially head rubs—and melts into a purring bundle of contentment when curled up in your lap. She plays gently, particularly with wand toys, showing off her clever and curious nature. With plenty of energy and a healthy appetite, life with Elvira is never dull. At the adoption centre, she shares an enclosure with her friend Alma, and they get along wonderfully. She would thrive as the sole focus of a lap-loving human or alongside another gentle kitty to share her adventures. Elvira would be happiest in a home that loves a social, affectionate companion, where she’s sure to bring endless play and snuggles to her new family!

Approx 18 years old Please note, this is a posting through the Courtesy Adoption Program. Please contact the current owner directly for more details. Their details are below. Ginger, although old, is lively and very affectionate. Ginger has a "dog-like" personality and likes to engage with her humans a lot. She makes it known when she wants attention. She loves cuddling. Story
DOB: Oct 12, 2021 Zeke is being fostered at one of Toronto Cat Rescue’s Vet Clinic partners locations. Please note that if you’re approved to adopt, you’ll need to pick them up from the store within 24 hours of being approved. Zeke is the definition of easygoing charm. This handsome boy is the friendliest of friendly, always happiest when he’s right by your side. He doesn’t demand attention — he simply belongs with his people, quietly keeping you company wherever you are. Stoic, super chill, and endlessly comforting, Zeke loves to sit back and watch the day unfold. Whether it’s birds outside the window or the gentle rhythm of home life, he’s content just being present. He has a wonderfully calm nature and takes everything in stride. Zeke seems unfazed by kittens and other cats, making him a great fit for a multi-cat household or a calmer home where he can be the steady, soothing presence everyone appreciates. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will be your constant, peaceful shadow — Zeke is your guy. He’s not flashy, just deeply lovable, and ready to settle in right next to you for good. Zeke has tested positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus). FIV+ cats can live long happy lives with a good diet, low stress, indoor homes, loving families, and annual vet check-ins. They don't require medication and can live in a home with other non-FIV+ cats, as the virus is only passed to other cats by blood (i.e. deep bite marks) and can't be passed to dogs or humans. Please don't judge them based on a blood test!

Story
Bella found her way into the garage of one of our volunteers at around 5 weeks old. She is a vocal gal who loves to yell for attention and snuggles. She's playful, enjoys chasing and wrestling with her foster kitty friends. She loves kisses and cuddles and sleeping in your arms and is always purring. She is FIV/FelV negative, flea treated and dewormed, up to date on her vaccines and will come with a voucher for her spay at 6 months, done in Woodstock at our vet. To facilitate the spay surgery, applications from locations within half an hour distance from Woodstock will be considered. PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING! An adoption application can be found at www.oxfordcountyanimalrescue.com (click on Adopt, then Cats for Adoption, then scroll to the bottom of the page). We require 2 non-familial references (including contact numbers) as well as permission to speak with your vet. Please note that yearly vet visits are a requirement for all our adopted kitties. If this is not your past practice, your application will not move forward. You must be 21 years old to adopt. The adoption fee is $200. It may take up to 72 hours to approve your application. Please provide all requested information, including contact numbers, to help expedite the process. Repeated phone calls and emails will not move your application along. We are a volunteer, foster based rescue. We are not able to facilitate meet and greets before an application is received. You are not able to meet multiple kitties to see if one fits as the animals may be fostered in different locations. Please help us get the kitties to their forever homes by respecting these guidelines!
