Story
Molly was rescued from Coweta County Animal Shelter with her sister, Bandit. They are Beagle mix females about 5 months old. I said she is not good with cats but it is just because she is very curious of them. She is very affectionate and cuddles a lot. She will do well in a home by herself or with other dogs. We just have too many rescues already and we just wanted to help the CCAS when they were over crowded.

Story
🐾 Meet Nala – Looking for Her Forever Home 🩶 Nala is a 2-year-old Weimaraner/cane corso mix with the sweetest personality and a heart full of love. Although she’s listed as 2 years old, she still has that fun, playful puppy energy that makes her such a joy to be around. ✨ A little about Nala: • 🐶 Great with other dogs • 🚶 Loves going on walks and is very easy to walk on a leash • 🏡 Potty trained • ❤️ Affectionate, friendly, and loves being around people • 🎾 Playful and always ready for some fun Nala was on the euthanasia list at DeKalb County Animal Services on Saturday, July 18, but we couldn’t let that be the end of her story. My girlfriend and I stepped up to foster this incredible girl while she waits for the forever family she deserves. She’s already shown us what an amazing companion she is, and we know there’s someone out there who’s going to fall in love with her. If you’re interested in meeting Nala or learning more about adopting her, please send me a message

Story
Meet Riggs! Riggs is a 3 year old, neutered male that is eager to find his new family! Riggs was surrendered to rescue by his family to make sure that he would get the care and loving family that he deserves. He’s had a rough go of it, but he’s ready to bounce forward and find his new family! As a 3-year-old Weim, he’s a typical “Weimaraptor” (iykyk!) and will need a family that will commit to training and lots of exercise for his body and his mind – but at the same time, he is a gentle soul that wants to be your best friend! When Riggs arrived into rescue, he was a bit skinny, so our partners at Georgia Canine Rescue & Rehab (GCRR) have been working on getting him up to a healthy weight and learning more about him. Since he’s settled in and healed from his neuter surgery, he gets to start meeting other pups in the play yard, we can’t wait to tell you more about his adventures! Unfortunately, Riggs is heartworm positive and will need to go through heartworm treatment, which is not fun for any dog, but especially for a young pup like Riggs! He would LOVE to be in a foster or foster/adopt home during treatment so that he can enjoy the comfort of a cuddle and learn to be a couch potato during his recovery! If you are interested in fostering or adopting Riggs, please complete an application on our website at www.AtlantaLovesWeims.org/Adopt If you have previously completed an application and are interested in fostering or adopting Riggs, please email us at rescue@AtlantaLovesWeims.org.

Story
Lucy update from her foster mom: Upon Lucy's initial arrival, she exhibited signs of anxiety with lots of panting and difficulty settling in but in a short time she appeared much more relaxed. Lucy is taking independent potty breaks in the fenced yard. She tends to eat slowly and may need some encouragement to finish her meals. At night, she sleeps soundly on her bed in the same room as me. Currently, she is on a weight loss plan and is being fed Purina Pro Plan for weight management to help her get back to a healthy weight. Lucy is a gentle dog who enjoys being petted. She especially loves scratches on her backside. Although she is not a fan of the crate, with patience and training, she may become more comfortable with it. She gets along well with my dog. Since Lucy came to rescue with her sister, BooBear, we think having a canine companion in her new home would be beneficial. While Lucy could improve her leash manners, she is generally manageable on a leash. It is important for Lucy to have a consistent human companion to help her build confidence, so a home where she can receive regular attention and care would be ideal. I am confident that Lucy will make a wonderful companion for her new family. Lucy is an 8.5 year old, female weimie with a docked tail who's owner passed away. She has worked really hard to gain her confidence and come out of her shell and we can honestly say that she has a lovely personality! She is a little shy and unsure in new situations, but she's willing to try if you are! Lucy is working on crate training, is housebroken and happy to hang in a place she knows as home. She prefers to be with another laid back dog that will show her the ropes at her new place. We do know that she's not a fan of cats or farm animals, but would do great with older children that understand it will take some time for her to settle in. She'll need some refresher on leash walking. If you are interested in adopting Lucy, please complete an application at www.AtlantaLovesWeims.org. If you have already submitteded an application, please send us an email at rescue@AtlantaLovesWeims.org.

Story
Austin needs a foster home!!!!! Austin is a stunning 10-month-old, 45 lb. Weim/maybe Lab boy with a natural tail who was given a second chance at life just in the nick of time. He was set to be euthanized in an overcrowded Georgia shelter. Though he may not be a purebred Weimaraner, he has all the makings of an absolutely amazing companion. He is at that perfect puppy age where he is eager to learn, ready to bond, and full of affection. Austin did great when meeting others...he is definitely high energy, so other dogs in the home will need to be ready to play. Because Austin is still a young pup, he will thrive in a home that can give him lots of structure, plenty of love, and some basic training to help him grow into the best dog he can be. He has a bright, resilient spirit and is ready to leave his past behind to become the center of your world. If you are looking for a loyal, handsome, and grateful pup to join your family adventures, Austin is waiting to meet you! If you are interested in this adorable, little guy, please complete the adoption application (or foster application) on our website: www.atlantalovesweims.org/adopt

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Update: Rocky was neutered (to find the second testicle) on 7/24/26 and he is recovering well. Rocky loves his new foster family and has even cuddled with the son. He met the neighbor's dog and wanted to play. Once his stitches are removed (8/10/26), his foster mom will take him to the dog park. Rocky is okay with female dogs only in the home. Welcoming Rocky! Rocky is a stunningly handsome 3 year old blue boy. Rocky was surrendered by his family because he was not getting along with the senior male GSP in the home. He was fine with the female GSP. When Rocky was neutered, the vet only found one testicle. Now, Rocky will undergo a second surgery to remove the other testicle as a retained testicle can carry a high risk of becoming cancerous. (the medical term is "cryptorchid"). So, today, 7/24/26, Rocky is undergoing a second surgery. We are hoping that once the other testicle is removed, Rocky will be fully neutered, which often helps calm male-to-male behavioral tension over time. We will move Rocky to his foster home over the weekend so he can recover and decompress. His foster family will monitor how his personality settles once his hormone levels drop. Sending positive thoughts to Rocky for a smooth surgery and a quick recovery today!

Story
Benny may be a heeler/catahoula mix, but his foster family says he is such a chill guy! He loves dogs, cats, and kids which makes him a great addition to any family. He walks well on a leash, is crate trained, and never has accidents which is amazing for a puppy. Benny came from a horrible situation where his owner shot one of his siblings and was threatening to shoot him and his sister Selena. They did nothing wrong and did not ask to be born into such a cruel situation. Now they are safe with us, but they both deserve their happily ever afters.  ##2783898##

Story
Selena Don’t let the pictures fool you! Selena looks much bigger than she actually is. She is a petite princess that will probably grow into a medium sized dog.  Selena is very VERY people friendly and loves other dogs! She also loves cats, but with her energy level and endless enthusiasm for all living things, the feeling is not mutual   With blue heeler in her mix, Selena will be an active adult who loves adventures, but she's just as happy to snuggle up with her people when the day is done. At just 4 months old, she is crate trained, good on a leash, and doing excellent with her potty training!  To meet Selena, please fill out an app and we can set up a meet & greet with her foster!  Apply here: https://awo.petstablished.com/adoptions/personal-information?application_type=Adopt&donation_section=false&form_id=22650&form_type=generic&generic_form_id=22650&pet_id=624674§ion=1&selected_pets=false ##2784207##
