Story
Single Female Weim looking for her Permanent Foster Family! Meet Miss Dickens! Dickens is a 13-year-old sweetheart that came into rescue because her owner, sadly, was moved to a memory care facility. Dicken’s family was heartbroken but after a trial stay, their own dogs were not welcoming to her, so they felt she would be more comfortable in a quieter home with other dogs and humans that were more her pace. As a 13-year-old Weim, you can probably guess that she has the usual lumps and bumps that older Weims get, so she won’t win any swimsuit contests, but her long ears and soulful eyes will draw you in! She has a quiet personality and will take some time to relax in her new environment – which isn’t surprising because she lost both the home and the person that was “hers” since the beginning and she’s not sure what to expect in new environments. She has adapted very well to her foster home and even tolerates the antics of her foster Weim brother who can be bouncy and excitable! She is also a bit unsteady on slick services like hardwood floors, tile and smooth surface decking, so it will be important that her new home be able to provide her with flooring (carpet and/or rugs) that will help her “grip” the floor to get around the house, as well as, minimal stairs to navigate. Once she is on grass or even sidewalk/street, she’s slow, but manages great! She LOVES to take a walk and great on a leash. Her foster mom takes her for a walk daily and it seem to be Dickens’ favorite part of the day! She is a great sniffer and loves to “hunt” around the back yard – even if her years of getting the “critter” are over, she enjoys the scent tracking! Dickens does have Cushing’s Disease which is controlled by medication and is stable on her meds. She does not pant, drink excessively or have accidents. She doesn’t require crating and has been great when left alone up to 5 hours. Because of her advanced age and health, Dickens is part of our Permanent Foster Home/Sanctuary Program – which means the Atlanta Weim Club Rescue will provide medical care, medications and anything else she needs to support her health and quality of life for the remainder of her time. We ask our permanent fosters to provide a loving home, food, water, flea & tick prevention and to be available to bring her to vet visits both scheduled and if emergent. If you are interested in being her Permanent Foster Family, please apply at https://www.atlantalovesweims.org/the-adoption-process If you already have an application on file, please contact us at rescue@atlantalovesweims.org

Hi! I'm a wiggly bundle of love looking for my forever home. I may be a little puppy, but I have a big heart! I'm a very smart girl and I'm learning to go to the door and scratch when I need to go potty. I'm still working on my potty training, so I'll need a little patience and encouragement as I keep learning. I love to talk to you—especially when I don't get my way! I have lots of personality and always like to let you know what I'm thinking. I'm also a big snuggler and my favorite place to sleep is right next to you. If you're looking for a sweet, cuddly, and playful best friend, I just might be the perfect puppy for you!  October 23, 2026, 12:10 pm

Story
Gunnie is a 13-year-old female Lab-Weimaraner mix with a heart as big as her soulful eyes. This sweet, silver-coated lady is in her golden years, but don’t let her age fool you — she still perks up for her favorite things: leisurely walks, windows-down car rides, tasty treats, and just about any kind of affection you’re offering. At around 75 lbs, Gunnie is the perfect size for snuggling beside you on the couch or accompanying you on a short stroll through the neighborhood. She's friendly with humans of all kinds and would thrive in a calm home where she can soak up love and enjoy her well-earned retirement. Gunnie is fully vetted, spayed, and house-trained. She does well with other mellow dogs and would be happy as either a solo companion or with her brother Root Beer. She doesn’t ask for much — just your time, your kindness, and a soft bed to call her own.     An Adoption Application for this dog can be found at and can be submitted online. http://www.angelsrescue.org/adopt/adoption-forms Be sure to like our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/angelsrescue.          March 7, 2026, 7:49 pm

We are open 12pm-5pm Sunday-Friday and 10 am-5pm on Saturday, we schedule our last adoption at 4pm everyday to allow our staff enough time to feed and walk dogs. We are an animal shelter and therefore are not able to individually potty train our residents. Many adult dogs do arrive “house broken” however due to animal behavior any change in environment will make an emotional impact on the animals and therefore initiate unwanted behaviors during the acclamation period. Please consider the time and commitment it takes to provide the necessary building blocks for these special babies, prior to submitting your application. If you have any questions please email us at info@humanemorgan.org and provide name of the animal you are interested in, in the subject line.
