Update from Universe's foster mom: We think Universe would love to have a doggie friend since he has never has been without litter mate. He gets along with other dogs when slowly introduced and can be a bit timid. He is great with adults, kids and babies and loves to give kisses. Universe can be a bit of a couch potato, but who isn't, right? He's a good car rider and he sleeps on his bed next to foster mom. His diet consists of a cup of kibble and 2 cups of homemade food which is rice, chicken, green beans, carrots, and sometimes sweet potatoes, too Universe is truly the sweetest, calmest, gentlest, Weim I have ever known. Be prepared to get plenty of kisses throughout the day. Welcoming new boy, Universe!!! Universe (and his brother, Ares) are 4 yr old, big boys that were surrendered by their owner at no fault of their own. Update from BooBear's foster mom: When we picked up BB from boarding, she was terrified. While we knew she was in constant 'flight' mode, we were not sure if we could safely manage her. Once she arrived at our house and met the other dogs, her entire demeanor changed. It is incredibly rewarding to witness BB's shift from shut-down terror to pure joy. BB is going to make someone an amazing companion. She has made herself right at home in less than 4 days. BB is an 8.5 year old, female weimie with a docked tail who's owner passed away. She has worked really hard to gain her confidence and come out of her shell and we can honestly say that she has a lovely personality! She is a little shy and unsure in new situations, but she's willing to try if you are! BB is crate trained, potty trained and happy to hang in a place she knows as home, which is sometimes her crate when she needs a little "me" time. She prefers to be with another laid back dog that will show her the ropes at her new place. We do know that she's not a fan of cats or farm animals, but would do great with older children that understand it will take some time for her to settle in. Lucy update from her foster mom: Upon Lucy's initial arrival, she exhibited signs of anxiety with lots of panting and difficulty settling in but in a short time she appeared much more relaxed. Lucy is taking independent potty breaks in the fenced yard. She tends to eat slowly and may need some encouragement to finish her meals. At night, she sleeps soundly on her bed in the same room as me. Currently, she is on a weight loss plan and is being fed Purina Pro Plan for weight management to help her get back to a healthy weight. Lucy is a gentle dog who enjoys being petted. She especially loves scratches on her backside. Although she is not a fan of the crate, with patience and training, she may become more comfortable with it. She gets along well with my dog. Since Lucy came to rescue with her sister, BooBear, we think having a canine companion in her new home would be beneficial. While Lucy could improve her leash manners, she is generally manageable on a leash. It is important for Lucy to have a consistent human companion to help her build confidence, so a home where she can receive regular attention and care would be ideal. I am confident that Lucy will make a wonderful companion for her new family. Lucy is an 8.5 year old, female weimie with a docked tail who's owner passed away. She has worked really hard to gain her confidence and come out of her shell and we can honestly say that she has a lovely personality! This beautiful, sweet 30 lb doggie was dumped in an Atlanta park!! The woman who brought her home wasn't able to have her checked for a chip. So, I offered to check her chip and took her to Clairemont Animal Hospital and indeed she had no chip. So, I asked them to do a full work up on her and she is heartworm negative and has started on all vaccines..Even though you wouldn't know it by her behavior, she is partially blind and has learned my home like a champ.She plays with my elderly rescue, who is much smaller than her and they get along.She was spayed and microchipped last week.She is soft and cuddly and loving, and truly an amazing animal.I'll pay the adoption fee once you meet Kitty and decide she is the doggie for you!I am happy to send you a small clip of her playing.
