COMING SOON! Meet Teagen! Teagan is a (almost) 7 year old, female weimaraner that loves to give kisses and cuddle. Teagen and her brother, Jett are coming into rescue due to a change in accommodations and their family is unable to have them at their current location. Teagan & Jett have been staying with friends on their farm and spend most of their time outdoors. Teagan & Jett will be adopted separately. Teagan is good with kids of all ages and other dogs - but definitely not cats. She loves to give kisses and to be loved on! She loves to ride in the car and really loves water and swimming!! Don't let her age fool ya, she is very active and would do great as an exercise companion! Teagan needs a foster or adoptive home w/o cats, and preferrably with a companion that she can play with! Does Teagan sound like she's a fit for you? Complete an application on our website at www.AtlantaLovesWeims.org and one of our volunteers will contact you!

Story
Welcoming Bertie, a super-affectionate, people-friendly, very high energy, almost 4-year-old Weimaraner girl with a docked tail. She gets along with other dogs her size and was fine when she met a little dog; she is okay with children. Bertie is, however, very interested in birds, squirrels, and small critters so no cats. She walks well on leash with a prong collar, is used to a daycare/boarding environment and has done both aspects on a regular basis, is housebroken and crate trained. She likes watching TV and is very intelligent and perceptive of her surroundings. She figured out how to use the dog door in a record 5 minutes! This bundle of joy is extremely food motivated, and has been known to counter surf...hard to believe, right? Bertie will need a family that can provide TONS of exercise and structure (a tired Weim is a good Weim!). Bertie is hanging out at Camp Bow Wow - Duluth while she waits on her forever home.

Story
Hercules lived the first of his life tethered to a chain on a tree. A Good Samaritan saw him posted online “ free to a good home “. Clearly the “ home “ he was currently at wasn’t that. He is between 1-2 years old. Dog and kid friendly, UTD on vax and prevention, heartworm negative and will Be neutered prior to going to his forever home. He is not house trained but this is to be expected living on a chain your whole life. He will need a patient forever home at first, but has so much love to give.

Story
Ida Mae is a country girl, she loves the outdoors and the farm life.  She was dumped near a farm and the woman there was kind enough to take her in and put weight back on her and get her vetted.  Unfortunately many dogs are dumped here so she patiently awaits a home of her own. Ida Mae prefers the outdoors and would be a great camping and hiking partner or would love to live and work on a farm.  She is good with most farm animals though we don't know about cats. Ida Mae is located in Tignall GA where there is no formal animal control facility and very little help for homeless pets. Please be willing to meet in the Athens or Madison, GA area -- which is about halfway between here and their foster (who cares for many and can't be too far from home base). Age: 1 yr  Weight: 50 lbs  Training: Housetraining in progress and crate-trained.   Temperament: Good with dogs and kids (no experience with younger/toddlers).    Vetting: Spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm negative and on prevention.  Email for questions: messparker@gmail.com   To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit.April 24, 2024, 8:29 am

Story
Marie is a real go-getter.  She loves an active life, she loves the water and would like a family who can help her get out her energy and share her zest for life.   She is a little cautious with new people but warms up quickly.  We say she's better with older kids because she is bigger and high energy. She does need to be an only pet. Age: 2 years  Weight: approx 60 lbs   Vetting: Up-to-date on vaccines, spayed, and heartworm negative   Temperament: not good with other dogs or cats, initially cautious with new people, best with older kids.  Training: House trained, crate trained, some well trained.  Contact email:  Sheltersxshelvesrescue@gmail.com To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit. We are 100% donation-funded, and our fees are equivalent to (or less than) the cost to fully vet a new dog yourself April 24, 2024, 8:29 am
