Story
Violet is a sweet, affectionate, and social dog who loves being around people and following her humans everywhere. She enjoys gentle scratches around her throat and is both smart and well-trained, understanding commands like SIT, STAY, COME HERE, BACK HOME, and PLACE. Although crate-trained, she prefers relaxing on the couch near her family. She loves playing in the backyard, especially chasing balls and sticks, and enjoys evening playtime before bed. Violet thrives on routine, with regular meals, play, and bedtime around 10 PM. She can be playful and curious, so shoes, food and valuables should stay out of reach. More than anything, Violet wants a loving home where she feels safe and included. In return, she’ll provide endless loyalty, companionship, and affection. If you’re looking for a gentle, intelligent, and devoted best friend, Violet is ready to become part of your family. 🐶💜

Story
BooBear is ready for her next adventure! BB is an 8.5 year old, female weimie who's owner passed away. She has worked really hard to gain her confidence and come out of her shell and we can honestly say that she has a lovely personality! She is a little shy and unsure in new situations, but she's willing to try if you are! BB is crate trained, potty trained and happy to hang in a place she knows as home, which is sometimes her crate when she needs a little "me" time. She prefers to be with another laid back dog that will show her the ropes at her new place. We do know that she's not a fan of cats or farm animals, but would do great with older children that understand it will take some time for her to settle in. She'll need some refresher on leash walking. She's a big girl, so learning to walk without pulling on the leash will be important. She's a bit chunky and has lost a few pound but could definitely stand to lose a few more to keep her healthy and help relieve pressure on hips as she get's older. If you are interested in fostering or adopting BooBear, please complete an application at www.AtlantaLovesWeims.org. If you have already submitteded an application, please send us an email at rescue@AtlantaLovesWeims.org.

Story
I have been apart of Kash's life since she came to us as a puppy. The original owner was a family member. Kash's owner passed away when she was 3 and I took her in. Before she came to me she birthed one litter and I had already taken the only surviving female puppy. Taking on Kash with two dogs already in my home was a bit much but due to the sudden passing of her owner I wanted her to be well. I've had Kash for 3 years and it has been a lot managing her and the other dogs. Her and her daughter have become territorial over me and my daughter and therefore we keep them apart so they won't attempt to fight one another. With my daughter leaving for college this fall I can no longer care for all 3 dogs by myself which is why we are looking for a good home for Kash. She loves human attention/ affection, walks, and lounging.

Story
JJ may be named after a rock legend, but her favorite hits are cuddles, kisses, and a good bone to chew on. She doesn’t just wag her tail — she rocks her whole body with joy when she sees you. Sweet as can be and calm as a classic slow jam, JJ is all about affection and good vibes. She’s a proud mama whose puppies are now rocking their own happy endings up north with a rescue, and JJ is ready for her next chapter as your loyal backstage buddy. No bad reputation here — just pure love, gentle energy, and a whole lot of wiggle.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 8, 2026, 7:37 pm

Story
Gunnie is a 13-year-old female Lab-Weimaraner mix with a heart as big as her soulful eyes. This sweet, silver-coated lady is in her golden years, but don’t let her age fool you — she still perks up for her favorite things: leisurely walks, windows-down car rides, tasty treats, and just about any kind of affection you’re offering. At around 75 lbs, Gunnie is the perfect size for snuggling beside you on the couch or accompanying you on a short stroll through the neighborhood. She's friendly with humans of all kinds and would thrive in a calm home where she can soak up love and enjoy her well-earned retirement. Gunnie is fully vetted, spayed, and house-trained. She does well with other mellow dogs and would be happy as either a solo companion or with her brother Root Beer. She doesn’t ask for much — just your time, your kindness, and a soft bed to call her own.     An Adoption Application for this dog can be found at and can be submitted online. http://www.angelsrescue.org/adopt/adoption-forms Be sure to like our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/angelsrescue.          March 7, 2026, 7:49 pm

Story
Are you looking for a loving dog who would love to take naps on your lap? Emillia is looking for a family that is ready for the excitement of a puppy, but who is already past most of the puppy challenging stages. This sweetheart is crate and potty trained, has all her shot and is spayed and is working on leash training and recall. Her favorite things are playing fetch and tug of war, but she also likes being outside and watching the birds and squirrels. Emillia will need to be in a home with another playful dog to help her build some confidence. When first meeting Emillia she becomes shy and unsure, but she warms up quickly. The vet expects her to be between 50-60lbs, and this girl adores mealtime and treats. The best home for Emillia would be one with a fenced in yard as she blossoms in familiar surroundings. Emillia has done well with children and cats so she should fit in with most households. Emillia is happy to sleep in her crate, in a bed on the floor or in the bed with you at night. When crated she doesn’t make a peep and waits patiently for you to open the door so she can give you all her love. She is in the teething stage, but her love for antlers keeps her occupied. Emillia has a velvet muzzle and belly, unique spots and a brindle mask, making her visually gorgeous. Her foster family adores her and knows once adopted she brighten the life of her family. If you would like to learn more about Emillia please apply with Hero Dog Rescue. Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies. Puppies - We do not adopt puppies under 16 weeks to out of state adopters. This is due to our spay/neuter policy, and all dogs must be spayed/neutered before leaving Georgia state lines. We do not adopt siblings to the same household. Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered. Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption. Inquiries - If you would like more information on any dogs in the rescue, please email us at info@herorescue.org.
