Hi! I'm a wiggly bundle of love looking for my forever home. I may be a little puppy, but I have a big heart! I'm a very smart girl and I'm learning to go to the door and scratch when I need to go potty. I'm still working on my potty training, so I'll need a little patience and encouragement as I keep learning. I love to talk to you—especially when I don't get my way! I have lots of personality and always like to let you know what I'm thinking. I'm also a big snuggler and my favorite place to sleep is right next to you. If you're looking for a sweet, cuddly, and playful best friend, I just might be the perfect puppy for you!  July 9, 2026, 5:07 pm

Story
BooBear is ready for her next adventure! BB is an 8.5 year old, female weimie who's owner passed away. She has worked really hard to gain her confidence and come out of her shell and we can honestly say that she has a lovely personality! She is a little shy and unsure in new situations, but she's willing to try if you are! BB is crate trained, potty trained and happy to hang in a place she knows as home, which is sometimes her crate when she needs a little "me" time. She prefers to be with another laid back dog that will show her the ropes at her new place. We do know that she's not a fan of cats or farm animals, but would do great with older children that understand it will take some time for her to settle in. She'll need some refresher on leash walking. She's a big girl, so learning to walk without pulling on the leash will be important. She's a bit chunky and has lost a few pound but could definitely stand to lose a few more to keep her healthy and help relieve pressure on hips as she get's older. If you are interested in fostering or adopting BooBear, please complete an application at www.AtlantaLovesWeims.org. If you have already submitteded an application, please send us an email at rescue@AtlantaLovesWeims.org.

Story
If you are looking for a big, handsome boy, look no further! Jerome is a loving and sweet 95 lb of sweetness. Jerome’s mom surrendered him to rescue because she was leaving the country and could not take him with her. Jerome is 7 yrs old, loves his hoomans (older kids ok), is housebroken, affectionate, rides nicely in the car, loves long walks, and water. Jerome will need to be the only dog in the family. Update from Jerome’s foster mom: He has started on a regime of exercise and scheduled meals instead of free-feeding. Jerome wants to be close to his human but is also fine if he is given a square of a couch. He listens to commands, if it suits him. When he walks on the leash outside with or without a harness, he loves to stop and sniff, but also follows along at a good pace, doesn’t pull and is sweet to all the people he meets. This big guy is so perfect for a pet free family who wants a life long shadow. Jerome's forever family will be willing to provide tons of exercise and structure inside and outside, as well as be able to manage a big boy while on walks.

Story
Are you looking for a loving dog who would love to take naps on your lap? Emillia is looking for a family that is ready for the excitement of a puppy, but who is already past most of the puppy challenging stages. This sweetheart is crate and potty trained, has all her shot and is spayed and is working on leash training and recall. Her favorite things are playing fetch and tug of war, but she also likes being outside and watching the birds and squirrels. Emillia will need to be in a home with another playful dog to help her build some confidence. When first meeting Emillia she becomes shy and unsure, but she warms up quickly. The vet expects her to be between 50-60lbs, and this girl adores mealtime and treats. The best home for Emillia would be one with a fenced in yard as she blossoms in familiar surroundings. Emillia has done well with children and cats so she should fit in with most households. Emillia is happy to sleep in her crate, in a bed on the floor or in the bed with you at night. When crated she doesn’t make a peep and waits patiently for you to open the door so she can give you all her love. She is in the teething stage, but her love for antlers keeps her occupied. Emillia has a velvet muzzle and belly, unique spots and a brindle mask, making her visually gorgeous. Her foster family adores her and knows once adopted she brighten the life of her family. If you would like to learn more about Emillia please apply with Hero Dog Rescue. Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies. Puppies - We do not adopt puppies under 16 weeks to out of state adopters. This is due to our spay/neuter policy, and all dogs must be spayed/neutered before leaving Georgia state lines. We do not adopt siblings to the same household. Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered. Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption. Inquiries - If you would like more information on any dogs in the rescue, please email us at info@herorescue.org.
