Story
Lillie is a super cuddler with lots of love and kisses to give! She is about 1-3 years old and seems to be a terrier mix- maybe with yorkie or a wirehaired terrier in there. Lillie is full grown at 12 pounds. She gets the morning zoomies and would prefer not to eat alone. She loves toys and play, walks in a quiet park and afternoon naps. She is fascinated by her foster’s cat and follow and sniff but will then sit next to her without any conflict. She does not have a single aggressive bone in her body. She is beautifully on point to hit the potty pad, but hasn’t yet realized outside is also a good place to go. With encouragement and lots of outside time, this is likely to adjust. Lillie came to us with a number of other dogs from a hoarding situation, so she is not use to having one on one attention in a home. She is finding out that she LOVES it! But she is still nervous and skittish in a new situation and a forever home will have to understand that she will need a little bit of an adjustment period. She is timid when meeting new people or when she hears crowds or unfamiliar noises, but she warms up quickly and is easily reassured. Lillie tolerates being in a crate while her foster is at work. So far she has been very quiet, but will occasionally say what she really thinks with some sass. She would very much like to sleep in bed with you and offer the best morning snuggles. She gets along with older kids who are calmer and she LOVES other dogs. She would thrive in a home where she gets to sleep in bed with her people and preferably has another young dog to play with. While she does not require a securely fenced in yard, she would do best with one. She is sensitive, energetic, and REALLY wants to please and be next to her foster mom at all times. We would not recommend to a first time dog owner due to her anxiety- she needs someone confident and kind and experienced with reading dog body language. To note- Lillie has some tendency to chew cords (thankfully unplugged and spotted fast), bags, cardboard/books and cloth but can be redirected to proper toys pretty easily.
