Story
Sea Biscuit is a 10 yr. old, 9 lb. Yorkie. He was found encased in a solid mass of hair and filth and was in poor health as a result. After medical attention and tlc, Biscuit is now a healthy, happy boy with many great years ahead of him. Biscuit is very active and playful. He would love to have another friendly dog to play with. I haven’t seen him with children, but he is so sweet, I think he would be fine with children over 8 yrs. Biscuit is newly house trained both on potty pads in bad weather, and going outside, which he loves. He walks nicely on leash and would be a fun friendly dog to take on short walks. A fenced yard is a must so he can run and play. Biscuit is fully vetted, neutered, microchipped, has had a dental, and has been pronounced healthy by the vet. He is ready for a forever home. Please note, we receive a large number of applications. We appreciate your patience as we complete our review processes. A personal interview, reference checks, meet and greet with pet, home visit and a solid vet history are required for adoption.  Apply for consideration to adopt at www.ruffdogrescue.org  ##1942922##

Story
I'm 9 years old (so they say) but I have the mind, body and soul of a 3 year old. I weigh about 24 pounds (currently on a diet). I do not shed, but I do need to be groomed often because if the hair gets near my eyes it causes me great irritation and they get all goopy. I have some allergies, but that is maintained with some OTC Zyrtec everyday and good food.    I'm potty trained, crate trained (although not a fan). I can be left out when you're gone as long as there's not anything left out for me to get in trouble with. Usually fommy (foster mommy) leaves me with a good treat or toy for me to destroy. I don't lack in the confidence department and know exactly what I like and dislike.   I love to snuggle, but I don't need to be on you 24/7. I love other pups and am great around kids. Sometimes if another pups comes near me with my favorite toy, I'll yell at them to stay back. But in the end, I'll share if Fommy tells me to.    I'm a pretty good boy, most of the time. However, I do love a good opportunity. For instance, here's a scenario, if there's food on the table and one of the chairs is left out a little bit and you're not in the room with me, this screams permission granted to me. It's little things like this that keeps my fommy on her toes.    Also, if the front door opens and she didn't tell me to stay or to sit. That also seems like she wants me to go out and explore the world, as I'm super curious and courageous. So, I'm going to charge through the door and do just as she wants me to do. I mean if she wanted me to to stay in the house and sit down, she would have said that, right? Because I do listen very well, and I would have sat down if she had asked. I mean pretty much all of my bad moments revolve around fommy's lack of communication or bad signals. Clearly I'm not the problem.    My favorite thing to do is walks, I LOVE walks. Which is why I'm always ready to run right out that door. And car rides, I'll hop in any car if it means I get to explore the world. But I don't take the back seat to anyone. I wanna see everything that's going on!   Fun, active, loving, and perfect....that's me. Can't wait to meet you!  An Adoption Application for this dog can be found and submitted online. http://www.angelsrescue.org/adopt/adoption-forms  Please be sure to like our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/angelsrescue.  Email inquiry@angelsrescue.org  Note: Some apartments and neighborhoods have breed restrictions. Not good with kids,
Story
Hey!  I'm a 9 year old Yorkie Terrier mix boy named Eliott.    I have a pretty crazy story.  I was a super urgent rescue case in 2019, found severely underweight and almost frozen to death.  I was adopted by some amazing people, but unfortunately had to come back to the rescue after I had one too many bite instances.  It was for the best, because they have to keep thier baby safe!  So, here is what I need in a home. I need no kids. Another dog is fine... I'm good with dogs. But I need structure and boundaries... and lots of love.  My foster mom can tell you more details... she says that I'm 98% loving... and 2% issues.       An Adoption Application for this dog can be found and submitted online at http://www.angelsrescue.org/adopt/adoption-forms  For inquiries, email inquiry@angelsrescue.org Please be sure to like our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/angelsrescue.          March 1, 2024, 1:14 am

Story
Bonded with her sister Sammie DD and Sammie found themselves homeless when their senior mom and her adult son lost their apartment due to medical issues and were forced to live outside. Several people are working to get the humans into housing, but DD and Sammie need a new place to be. They’ve been bouncing around in temporary foster homes for the past three months. The owners have relinquished the dogs knowing that they no longer have the ability to care for them physically or financially. DD is a seven-year-old Yorkie and weighs 10.5 pounds.  Sammie is a four-year-old Shih-Tzu and weighs 8.5 pounds.  They are very attached to each other, and we’d like to place them together.  DD is an absolute cuddle bug and if you’re a couch potato, she could be the dog for you.  She is working on potty training and doing great, but she does still have pee accidents in the house if she doesn’t have a chance to go out. She needs a very consistent routine where they are taken out every 3 hours as she learns to only potty outside. She does not like to go outside alone so her new adopter would need to be willing to go outside with her every time she goes out to potty. Their previous owners never took them out and only used pee pads so potty training is new to both of them. Continued house training will need to be a priority in DD's new home. DD loves toys and carries one in her mouth most of the time. She loves everyone she meets but she is yappy like most s mall dogs and barks at everyone initially.  She follows up her bark with alot of tail wagging.  DD is good with cats and other dogs but she doesn’t care to interact or play with either unless they are her size and she feels safe. Sammie and DD do romp and play with each other every day. DD loves to be held and snuggled and is used to snuggling up next to someone all day.  She is not the right dog for someone that is gone from the house all day at work.  She would be great with a person that works from home or is retired.   She is crate trained, spayed, heartworm negative and current on her vaccines. Please let us know if you’re interested in adopting. You won’t regret it!  She is precious!   Age: 7yrs Weight: 11lbs Temperament: Love women, ok with dogs and  cats Training: Crate- and potty pad trained; worrying on potty outside Vetting: Spayed, up-to-date on vaccines and heartworm negative Contact: doggieharmonyatlanta@gmail.com (Amy) We are 100% donation-funded and our fees are equivalent to (or less than) the cost to fully vet a new dog yourself. Please expect an adoption fee; some of our urgent or long-term dogs have discounted fees.  February 29, 2024, 12:42 pm

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Mambo is an adorable senior Yorkie/Mix looking for his forever family! This 10lb boy is just the sweetest guy who wants cuddles or attention all the time! He&#39s laid back, calm, and is happiest when he&#39s by your side! Although he is dog friendly, he can be territorial and would do best as the only dog in the house. Sadly, Mambo came to BarkVille Dog Rescue after he was dumped by his previous owners in the pouring rain. Although he&#39s estimated to be around 8yr old, Mambo has lots of life and love left to give! He has been fully vetted, and unfortunately had to have all his teeth removed. That doesn&#39t slow him down and he happily eats wet food, or soaked dry food. Mambo is house trained, has good leash manners, and will tell you that he hates to be crated! He would be a wonderful addition to a family who is home often, or a retired person/couple looking for a low-key companion. He is neutered, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. For more information about this handsome boy, please email us at info@barkvilledogrescue.org or submit an application at https://www.barkvilledogrescue.org/applications. BarkVille is located in Roswell, GA and our dogs are available for foster/adoption in the Greater Atlanta area. Applicants in surrounding states could potentially adopt a BarkVille dog if their application is approved, they live within 2-3 hours of the Greater Atlanta area, and they are able to pick up their dog from the foster home.February 28, 2024, 2:50 pm

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
LOOKING FOR MY PERSON:  Approx. 12 years old / Approx. 13 lbs.  Hi, my name is Bessie!  I lived with my family my entire life, but their living situation changed, and they are relocating to a home where pets are not allowed.  That makes me sad, but I am so grateful that Mostly Mutts will work to help me find a new home.  I am in a wonderful foster home while I wait for my furever family to find me! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I did not like the dogs I met at Mostly Mutts, so no dogs please. I tolerated a dog in one temp. foster home, but another temp. foster said I barked at dogs that entered the same room as me as well as those I passed on my walks, so I do not want to live with them. / My former family reported that I did not like cats and Mostly Mutts agrees. / I excitedly went after ankles of kids I met in a foster home and since I have bitten, best no kids.      • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m a playful girl who likes toys and sometimes acts younger than my age.  I’m called a spry girl and had a blast playing with the volunteer photographer!  I’m a sweet girl who accepts affection most of the time, though I have guarding behaviors when it comes to things like my bed, treats and people.  Once I find my person, I don’t really want to share them too much. This can be a trainable situation and my trainer will be happy to talk to you.  I can be a bit temperamental and once bit my former foster mom, though I did have a urinary tract infection, so that may have had a bit to do with it. My former owner did not report any bites.  My foster said I like new people to go slow as I get to know them so, please be patient with me as I adjust to my new home and any new people I meet.  It just took a few days for me to feel comfortable with a temp. foster when my regular foster was away.  She even called me a ‘real love bug.’  Once I am settled, I am sure to show you how sweet I can be!  / My energy level is 4-6. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I have already learned the ‘sit’, ‘come’, ‘leave it’ and ‘place’ commands.  I also walk well on a leash.  My trainer at the shelter is great with the little dogs with big personalities, so ask to talk to her when setting up a meeting with me.  My former family reported that I also knew the word ‘no’ and ‘good job’ for praising me. In my former foster home, I knew the words ‘outside’ for going out, and ‘up’, for going up stairs and that I could ‘sit’ when I choose to – lol. / My crate manners were good in my former home and are good at Mostly Mutts, and it’s best that I sleep in a crate at night instead of the bed with you, as that is a time that I bit my person. / My potty habits have been good on the shelter schedule, and in my foster home.   • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I love going for walks and playing fetch.  It was fun playing in the fall leaves too. I enjoy having my cheeks and the top of my head rubbed as well as cuddles and scratches on my back.  Playing with toys is also fun and I enjoy hanging out with my person.  I do seem to prefer women to men. / I don’t like to be picked up, so let me come to you, please.  I’m also not a fan of having my paws, tummy or rear end rubbed.  I don’t care for some men or people going too fast as I get to know them.  I don’t like dogs coming too close and alert bark at animals I see outside.  Otherwise, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, training, and attention. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. I have a congenital dropped carpus on both front legs and luxating patella on the left, but my foster didn’t even notice as I can jump and don’t have pain.  I also have a mild heart murmur that does not require any treatment currently. I’m on an inexpensive over-the-counter joint supplement which is good for all older dogs.    I am looking for a loving home for life with a dog experienced person!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  February 29, 2024, 6:47 am
