Story
Riker is a 3-year-old, 23-lb mixed breed with the most adorable ears -- possibly a little Yorkie or Papillon in there! He’s a great blend of companion and adventure buddy, happy to head out for a walk or curl up on the couch right next to you. Riker is house-trained in his foster home and loves his daily walks. He’s also a champion cuddler who truly enjoys hanging out with his people. At night, he sleeps through the night in his crate in his foster home, but overall he’s not a big fan of being crated during the day. An ideal home would be with someone who is around more often or doesn’t rely heavily on crating. When it comes to other dogs, Riker does well with some but can try to be the boss, so thoughtful introductions and a confident handler will help set him up for success. He’d thrive in a home that understands his personality and can provide gentle guidance. Ideally, he would be the only dog in his forever home. If you’re looking for a loyal little guy who loves walks, cuddles, and quality time with his humans, Riker might be your perfect match. To adopt him, please apply on www.orphanannierescue.org His adoption fee is $400, which includes his shots up-to-date, microchipping, neuter, heartworm testing, and dental cleaning.

Story
A SWEET & LOVELY GAL:  Approx. 10 years old / Approx. 20 lbs. & needs to lose some weight Hi there, I’m Suri!  Mostly Mutts rescued me from animal control, and now I’m getting a second chance at a happy life. I needed bloodwork and a good dental cleaning when I arrived and I've had those now, thanks to a generous grant from the Grey Muzzle Organization!  I’m currently in a great foster home while I wait to find my happily ever after!  • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met other dogs at Mostly Mutts, and I wasn’t interested in them, though I did not show any aggression, so if you have a very calm dog that isn’t looking for a playmate and will give me my space, let’s meet!  I have shown a little food possessiveness, so please feed me separately.  Of course, I would be very happy to have you all to myself, too!  / Cats unknown. / I met a nice boy and a girl around 10 years old at Mostly Mutts and did well with them, so a home with kids ages 10 and up could be a good fit for me.  Let’s meet! • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m described as a “sweet, gentle, adorable and fluffy sweetheart with the softest fur, who is not a lapdog, but loves being beside you, sometimes with her head on your lap.”  I can be a little shy at first, but once I warm up, you’ll see just how sweet and loving I am.  Despite my age and weight, I currently have no issues going up and down stairs, enjoy a few shorter walks throughout the day – I can even do 2 miles and a little jog here and there, as well as the occasional chasing of a small frog in my foster’s yard.  “Sniffari” time is the best and I still have lots of energy to enjoy adventures!  During our walks, I sometimes do a little “reverse allergy sneeze,” which sounds like a funny snort — it’s harmless and passes quickly.  / Energy level: 3-5. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I know the ‘sit’ command and I bet you can teach me even more.  / I did well in my crate at Mostly Mutts and in one foster home at night as well as when my foster was away (a little treat to get me in there was always appreciated), but I just sleep in my current foster’s bedroom on a dog bed with pillows now, and I also do well alone during the day for a few hours without a crate so maybe I won’t need one in my new home. / I only had a few accidents on the shelter schedule and have had no accidents in my current foster home, so hopefully that will translate to doing well in my new home, too – of course there may be an adjustment period, and I do like to drink a lot of water. • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I really enjoy being with people and getting lots of scratches, pets and belly rubs.  Being outside is great as long as we are together.  I have recently discovered how much fun toys can be, shaking and growling at my stuffed toys or playing a little tug game with my foster – we pretend it’s a fierce battle lol.  I enjoy a peanut butter Kong and other healthy weight-loss friendly treats (I pretty much love all dog safe fruits and veggies, which I frequently beg my foster for lol).  I like my fun puzzle feeder, too.  Naps are great and I look forward to my average 8-9 hours of sleep each night, from around 10pm to 7am.  I cuddle with my foster on the couch, but ask for permission to jump up if you are there first.  I like going for car rides, getting so excited for our adventure.  I’m sure we’ll discover lots of other things we will like doing together. / I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love and attention. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed.  I came in with some fur loss, but my fur has grown back in nicely.  I had 1 tooth pulled during my dental cleaning and my mouth is feeling fresh again.  I’ve been diagnosed with Cushing’s disease and I’m on a medication called Vetoryl that I’ll need to stay on for life.  I also had 2 small cysts removed from my belly.  I also take an over-the-counter joint supplement called Cosequin which is good for all older doggies.  I’m trying some allergy medication, so just ask about that.  I’m so thankful that I was rescued and that I’ve gotten the much-needed vet care and love from all the nice folks at Mostly Mutts, and now I can’t wait to find my new family that will continue that love and good care.  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  March 8, 2026, 7:16 am

Story
Chester Woodrow - 95% Yorkshire Terrier • Trained • Devoted companion seeking the right match   Chester Woodrow is a 9-year-old, neutered male, Yorkie mix (Wisdom Panel DNA: ~95% Yorkshire Terrier). He is house trained, crate trained, has excellent recall, and sits on command. He understands structure and enjoys working with his people. At about 14.5 pounds, Chester is small, but athletic and agile. He is affectionate, people-oriented, and bonds deeply once he feels secure. He is non-shedding, easy to maintain, and does very well for grooming and veterinary care. Chester is exceptionally smart, perceptive, and responsive to routines. He relaxes when his environment is predictable and calm. Background and Training: Chester came to rescue with separation-anxiety–related coping behaviors. Since returning to foster care, he has worked consistently with a professional trainer and made excellent progress. He has been successfully weaned off anxiety medication, and structured routines, especially crate training, has significantly improved his confidence and regulation. He now primarily shows calm, trained behavior. Like many sensitive dogs, he can become reactive if he feels insecure or overwhelmed, particularly if he perceives a need to protect his person or space. With proper introductions, predictable structure, and continued guidance, he is manageable and highly predictable. Social compatibility: Chester has lived successfully with other small dogs in foster care and is currently doing well with two small Yorkies. He has also thrived as the only dog. He does best with calm, predictable companions and may struggle with highly energetic or chaotic dogs that rush people. Ongoing support: Chester has an established training plan and relationship with a professional trainer who knows him well. Adopters should be willing to continue this support during transition and as needed to maintain his progress. Ideal home: Chester will do best in a calm, structured adult home with predictable routines. He may be happiest as the only dog or with one small, well-matched dog. He is not suited to chaotic environments or homes seeking a low-maintenance dog. Care Details: Crate trained and house trained Excellent recall Dog-selective (prefers calm companions) Non-shedding coat Excellent for grooming and veterinary handling Neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccines Wisdom Panel DNA profile available Chester Woodrow is a bright, loyal dog who has shown how well he can do with the right support. In a stable home, he is affectionate, responsive, and deeply bonded to his person. He is looking for adopters who value structure and the rewarding bond that comes from helping a sensitive dog feel safe and confident. To learn more about Chester Woodrow, contact Angels Among Us or submit an application.       An Adoption Application for this dog can be found and submitted online. http://www.angelsrescue.org/adopt/adoption-forms  Please be sure to like our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/angelsrescue.  Email inquiry@angelsrescue.org  Note: Some apartments and neighborhoods have breed restrictions. Tonki was one of them. Now, he’s ready to leave his difficult past behind and begin a new chapter as a beloved member of a loving family. Having learned how to live happily with humans in his foster home, Tonki is patiently waiting for his forever home—where he’ll be cherished, protected, and loved the way he truly deserves. • Personality: Sweet, Friendly, Bright Tonki is a lovable, easygoing pup with a bright, happy energy.
