Hi! My name is Bentley and I am looking for a forever home. I was surrendered to a high-kill shelter 'cause my owner said I had to stay outside all the time and it was going to get really cold so felt it best for me to find a different home. Fortunately for me, BCAA heard about my plight and said they would help me ... yeah! I appear to be a yorkshire terrier possibly mixed with poodle--a yorkie-poo! I am only about 10lbs and at around 4years old I'm not going to get any bigger. I am a little shy when first meeting new people but with just a litlte bit of time and some TLC, I find I really enjoy getting attention. I have gotten along with the other small dogs I have met who are friendly with me and am more on the submissive side; I haven't paid much attention to the cats I've seen. I have done well in my crate once I have learned the schedule around here without any accidents and I don't tear up any of my bedding; however, I would prefer to be out with you and will let you know if I see or hear you not to forget about me. I do pretty ok on leash once I have learned I can trust you but may stop on occasion and need a little bit of encouragement to keep going; won't be long and I will be walking like a pro! We adopted Ollie from a coworker when he was puppy 10 years ago. He is an excellent snuggler and loves to go for walks. He is gentle with our toddlers but can be overwhelming to outside kids as he seems to see littles ones as playmates. He is very protective, but is not aggressive other than barking at strangers or the Amazon delivery man. We now have a busy life with work and small kids and can no longer give him the attention he needs. He would do best in a home without cats, and likely will be ok with other dogs.
