Story
Meet Milo Smilo ACCT-A-222128! Milo Smilo is a 2-year-old male who came in as an owner surrender on 6/6 due to Milo’s behavior. Videos: Remy & Milo Smilo meet https://youtube.com/shorts/vfQ6SVL5vKg?si=AmTZPJeHN8SAja2H Thing 2 Milo Smilo Dog Meet: https://youtube.com/shorts/rl9lJ0R7-qI?feature=share Behavior Notes: Per staff 6/16: “Milo Smilo was very easy to leash. He had a mid level wagging tail and soft eyes. He let me pick him up and carry him outside. He was very sweet a just wanted to cuddle. He walked great on leash, no pulling and when it was time to go back inside he let me pick him up and place him back in kennel.” Per owner: “ Aggression. Biting humans in the home. Very friendly to dogs and people outside. Dog was laying in his bed and owner's roommate (victim) stood up from couch. Dog got up from bed and ran towards victim and bit her forearm unprovokedly breaking skin. Fully housebroken, medium energy, pulls a little on leash sometimes. Separation anxiety when home alone, "Marking" things with urine. Very friendly outside of the home with people and pets. Inside the home becomes very defensive and aggressive. Will bite unexpectedly and break the skin. Very protective of primary owner and will bite any adult who approaches her. Will growl and bark at people in the home. Especially when on couches and furniture, but sometimes when sitting on floor. Super friendly/loves strangers, children and other dogs. Very nervous when separated from owner and her roommates, but becomes very aggressive towards them in the home. If two adults approach each other, Milo will become very nervous and often jump up and bite one of them hard, breaking the skin. Milo needs to live in a home with one person. Preferable someone who doesn’t have people over too often. He is very friendly to strangers on walks and dogs, so someone who could walk him. Milo is the sweetest cuddle bug with his owner. He follows me everywhere and wants to go with me on walks, in the car, and cuddle when I’m sitting.” When asked about the bite, the owner said, “He bites almost every day. My roommate and I were walking around the house last night and Milo was on his dog bed. He ran across the living room and jumped up in the air to bite my roommates arm. He quickly let go and I picked him up to put him in his crate in a separate room. He barked and panicked for 30 minutes before I let him out to walk him. He bit the same roommate and myself a day before, breaking skin on my thumb and on her forearm. He breaks the skin most of the time when he bites. The problem is that separating him from us gives him intense anxiety, but if he’s around us in the apartment he seems to become very defensive seemingly out of nowhere.” Medical Notes: Milo was diagnosed with an upper respiratory infection on 6/11. He tested negative for Pneumovirus. Per an intake exam on 6/11: -Ears have slight wax -tartar and staining present, pigmented moist gums -BAR, friendly and happy burning exam but snappeds slightly when administering vaxx ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in Philadelphia. Story
Toby’s a 6yo 9lb Yorkie mix. He’s dog, cat and kid friendly. He’s housebroken when kept on a schedule (likes his person to stay out with him) and crate trained. He’s good in a secure fenced in yard and/or going for harness leashed walks. He needs warm up time for new people and dogs, but when he does, he’s very affectionate and wants to be with his people all the time. He craves attention, will jump up & stand on your lap to get pets. He loves to be petted and may whine if you stop. He loves chasing balls especially soft ones he can hold in his mouth along with playing tug of war with a small cloth squeaky toy. Toby’s foster requires a home that will have an open crate that is half covered with a blanket to be used as his safe place, along with patient, calm, confident people to give him leadership, consistency, structure and to continue working on training. If your home DOES NOT meet these requirement’s please DO NOT put an application in. We will not call anyone whose home does not meet the needed requirements. Also, we will be concentrating on local to foster applications 1st since home checks and meets with all humans and animals in home is needed at meet. Our fosters are all volunteers so aren’t always able to travel too far. Toby as all dogs should have 2 weeks in their new home with just their people who live in the home and to not have people over for at least 2 weeks. Dogs need time to settle in and adjust to their new people and environment first so they can learn to trust them first. Toby’s neutered, vaccinated, HW negative and microchipped. He has a low-grade heart murmur which our vet felt needed no meds but could in the future. He has some issues at times with his back legs due to luxating patella’s so take a small dose of Gabapentin each day. Currently in Feasterville, PA. If your home meets the needed requirements and you’re interested in applying to adopt please do so at www.tprescue.org

Story
Benji a 9yo 11lb and Romeo an 11yo 6lb are a bonded pair of Yorkie mixes. They are dog and kids 15+ friendly. They are both housebroken but Romeo wears a belly band inside since he has been known to mark. They are good in a secure fenced in yard and/or going for harness leashed walks. They like to play with toys, cuddle with each other and be near their people. Benji is calm, quiet and like to be pet but not picked up, so like to lay next to his people on his terms or cuddle in his own bed with his favorite stuffed toy. Romeo is friendly, feisty, very affectionate and likes to lay on his people’s lap. Benji and Romeo are required to be adopted together since they are a bonded pair so will not be separated.
