Story
Meet Rico, a handsome 3 year old 9lb Yorkie boy being fostered in Rhome, TX. Only Texas applicants will be considered. My name is Rico. I am 3 years old and am a lovable 9 lbs. I am going to share my story and when I am done I hope you will fall in love with me. I am with an amazing foster family who is giving me so much love but I know my furever family is waiting for me. I spent my first 3 years with a warm sweet lady that could no longer care for me so her family was kind enough to bring me to their home for a while where we all found that the time had come to find my future life and family. I went from 1 person to 3 children, an apartment, missed having a yard, and shared love with another baby dog. I follow foster mom everywhere, constantly trying to be in her lap, and hoping she will take me along with the family to brunch, go for walks and car rides. I have learned to sit, lay down and they have me in training to roll over (of course its for the treats) but I am berry berry smart. Im sure you can tell that I love designer clothes so you can get new sweaters, T-shirts or whatever you think will keep me handsome. I love my foster dad and 9 year old brother and take my job of being a love bug very seriously. I am waiting for my first vet visit so I can get caught up on my vaccines and get neutered. I have so much love to giveIf you think I would be a perfect boy for your family please complete an application below.

Story
Pepper has vision. He would prefer to be the only dog. Loves people and cuddling, velcro and will follow you everywhere. Meet Pepper! Pepper was surrendered to a shelter at 13 years old. His history prior to that is unknown. He was saved from the shelter by a local organization who also started his vetting, and he came to us about two weeks later. In spite of all this, Pepper is quite a character! He has a lot of personality, definitely knows what he wants and doesn't want, and will let you know. And what he wants is this ... Pepper feels he has one very important job, and more than anything, he wants to do his job well. That job is to be. with. you. No matter where you are, day or night, Pepper wants to be with you, and he will love you with everything he has in his little 8 pound body. If he is not with you, he will not hesitate to let you know how upset he is. He's a great cuddler and would spend the entire day cuddling in my lap if he could. He would love to keep you warm on those cool fall and winter days! Shortly after arriving at his foster home, Pepper had an urgent dental (20 teeth were extracted, he has six bottom teeth remaining and will need to eat soft food for the rest of his life), was neutered, saw the ophthalmologist (he has nuclear sclerosis in both eyes and a healed corneal ulcer in his right eye), and was diagnosed with hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid), for which he takes Levothyroxine twice a day. He will need to have regular blood work to monitor his thyroid. Two lumps removed from his forehead were apocrine gland cysts and completely benign. He is nicely managed on pain medication and a joint supplement for arthritis and bilateral luxating patellas, and even runs everywhere! He's also attempted, with some success, to climb over baby gates. Pepper goes through phases where he drinks and urinates quite a bit more than usual, but testing so far has not shown a cause. Housebreaking continues to be a slow work in progress and he is unable to go through the night without urinating. Pepper is fine with the other three dogs in his foster home, but is jealous and upset if he is not getting all of the attention. The other three dogs here are timid and small like he is, and if one is where Pepper wants to be, he will just lay down on top of that dog. Pepper would prefer a home where someone is home most of the time and where he could be your only dog, or with only one other quiet small dog. Due to his size, a home without young children is recommended, and he will also require an understanding owner who is able to carefully monitor any changes in his appetite, behavior, or pottying. Pepper reminds me of a used car. He's a bit banged up, scratched, and is missing paint in some areas, but with lots of love and good maintenance, he'll keep going and going and going! :) BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.

Story
Kal-el is needing a new loving home. He is a 10-12 year old pup, but is still as vibrant as ever. He loves cuddles and kisses! I am needing to rehome him because I am moving away and won’t be able take him with me. I will miss him greatly, but will feel much better knowing he is with a loving family.

Story
Meet Bella Stella, a sweet 11 year old, 14 pound little Yorkie girl being fostered in Azle, TX. Only TX residents will be considered. Bella came in with her sister, Bessie. Bella and Bessie are still waiting on their forever homes. In the meantime, foster mom has them on good, healthy dog food from Royal Canine and one is especially for diabetic dogs like Bella Stella. Bella and Bessie are sweet as pie and just love tummy scratches. Little Bella’s eyes are a little better. Her vision is low but she sees the Vet Ophthalmologist about every two months to have her eyes checked and get medicine to help her produce tears since she has dry eyes. This little senior lady loves to sit in your lap, get her head scratched and cuddle. She takes insulin to keep her diabetes managed and she is on medication for Cushings. She will have another blood draw in a month to check her drug levels for the Cushings. She and her sister Bessie check on each other and periodically and remain close to each other. Even though Bella has a hard time seeing, her sister stays close and Bella knows her way around the house and yard. UYR continues to pay for her meds and vet visits so any help with her ongoing expenses would be appreciated! Bessie 22-074 Our little Bessie is also doing very well. She is healthy and a talker! She wastes no time letting you know it is dinner time, and keeps any eye on her sister Bella Stella while she eats. Bessie is playful and also a cuddler. She loves belly scratches and being close to her humans. Bessie and Bella Stella must be adopted together. They are precious girls that just need someone to love on them and keep them on their diets and medication. If you are interested, please go to UYR.us, looking for love and fill out an adoption application.
