Story
Bella is a 5 year old, 15 lb Yorkshire Terrier mix. Maybe her name should be Miracle, since that's exactly what she is. Bella was hit by a truck and sustained serious injuries. There was even some doubt about whether she would make it or not. She surprised the vet and everyone else by making an remarkable recovery - without surgery! Her back leg is fully functional, but it does cause her to have a bit of a wonky walk. She doesn't seem to notice anything is wrong! Bella needs a very specific type of home. She cannot handle stairs, jumping on furniture, or swimming pools. She needs a securely fenced backyard because that's the only exercise she will get. She shouldn't take walks on leash. She needs a quiet, low activity home where she can get lots of attention and supervision to keep her safe. She gets along with other dogs, but only if they are very gentle with her. No playing chase or wrestling for sweet Bella. She is a happy, sweet little dog who loves her people. She is not a playful dog, but she is a wonderful companion. She is crate and potty trained. If you would like to adopt Bella (aka Miracle), please submit your application, and one of our adoption counselors will contract you.

I'm a sweet, friendly, smart, curious, and playful chap. I ended up here in the shelter because of my, uh, slight obsession with mailmen. You see, I just couldn't resist a good chase! One day, I followed one on his route all the way into town. I lost him, but found myself in a doggy jail. Don't worry though, I've learned my lesson, no more mailman chases for me! I do have a small quirk though, I'm not a fan of other dogs on walks. I'm more of a 'one-man show', you see? But don't let that deter you. I promise to fill your life with laughter, love, and endless games of fetch. Adopt me, and let's create our own adventure!May 12, 2024, 7:28 am

Story
Now that she has recovered from her eye removal and dental, Wanda is ready to find her forever home! She is 12 1/2 years old and weighs 19lbs. Per Wisdom Panel she is mostly a Yorkie/Poodle mix, but has a little bit of Cocker Spaniel and Chihuahua mixed in! Wanda has never met a stranger. She happily greets everyone she meets with tail wags and sometimes kisses. She does great with other dogs, both big and small. We believe she would do well with anyone in her forever home, including kids, cats, and other dogs. Wanda’s foster family says that she is very laid back and mellow. However, she gets super excited for meal time! She will occasionally try to play outside with her foster parents or with the other dogs in the home, but these bursts of playfulness are few and far between. She is less of a lap dog than her buddies, Willis and Naomi, and instead prefers to sleep in a dog bed on the floor. Wanda does not require a kennel and sleeps in a dog bed on the floor all night. She does not have potty accidents in the house, but only as long as she is taken out regularly, as she will not alert her fosters when she needs to go out. She had to have her right eye removed, but her vision is normal out of her left. Due to her age, her hearing is not where it used to be, but she is not deaf. Wanda is a chill, independent girl who her foster family says someone will be lucky to have. If you are interested in adopting this sweet senior, please visit rescuerowinc.org to fill out an application! *Please check your junk email folder if you do not receive a response from a Rescue Row member within 48 hours. *You must live within an hour of the DFW Metroplex because we do trial adoptions and require a homecheck *Our adoption fees are as follows (paid by cash or a check made out to Rescue Row): Dogs 12 weeks-6 months old: $300 adoption fee  Dogs 7 months and older: $275 adoption fee  Rescue Row is a 501(c)3 (non-profit) all volunteer dog rescue organization serving the DFW Metroplex. We are dedicated to rescuing dogs in shelters, dogs in abusive or neglectful situations, and dogs surrendered by their owners because of difficult circumstances. We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process, which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into their homes and lives. Dogs in our care are spayed or neutered, microchipped, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. We assist dogs in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement. Dogs in the greatest need take priority. Story
Selma is 12 1/2 years old and weighs 12lbs. Per Wisdom Panel she is a mix of 5 different breeds with the main breeds being Yorkshire Terrier and Miniature Poodle. If we had to describe her in one word, it would be SWEET! Selma does not have a mean bone in her body. Selma is blind and almost completely deaf, as she can only hear very loud noises. Even though she is blind, she navigates her surroundings great. She is also diabetic, so she requires two insulin shots a day as well as prescription food. We know this sounds scary to potential adopters. Her foster mom had never administered insulin shots before but said the needles are so tiny, and Selma never fusses when receiving them. Selma is fantastic around other dogs. She does not play with them but will happily snuggle up with another dog in a dog bed. She is also great with everyone she meets! Selma is gentle, independent, and so sweet. She spends most of her days napping in a dog bed but occasionally likes sit on a lap and get pets. She is not potty trained, but as long as she is taken out any time she wakes up from a nap, she doesn’t have any accidents. We realize that Selma has a lot stacked against her - age, blind, deaf, diabetic, and not potty trained. However, she is a special girl with so much love to give. Her forever home is out there somewhere. If you are interested in adopting Selma, please submit an adoption application at www.rescuerowinc.org!  *Please check your junk email folder if you do not receive a response from a Rescue Row member within 48 hours. *You must live within an hour of the DFW Metroplex because we do trial adoptions and require a homecheck *Our adoption fees are as follows (paid by cash, zelle, venmo or a check made out to Rescue Row): Dogs 12 weeks-6 months old: $300 adoption fee  Dogs 7 months and older: $275 adoption fee  Rescue Row is a 501(c)3 (non-profit) all volunteer dog rescue organization serving the DFW Metroplex. Story
Willis is ready to find his forever home! You would never know how rough of a life he had before being rescued because this boy is an absolute love. Willis is the biggest lap dog and absolutely loves to snuggle with his foster family. If he is not snuggling, he is napping on the back of the couch. He is fabulous with dogs, both big and small. He doesn’t play with them, but they are just as great of an option to snuggle up with. He was recently cat tested, and passed with flying colors. Willis is shy when he first meets someone new, but he is won over as soon as he is pet. And you guessed it - he is snuggled up in their arms in no time. Loud noises also tend to frighten him, so his ideal home would be without children. His foster mom says that he is definitely a low energy dog but will get the occasional zoomies in the backyard. He sleeps in bed with his foster parents, snuggled up, just how he likes it. Willis is non-destructive when left alone and doesn’t require a kennel when his foster family leaves the house. Because he went 10 years without being neutered, or potty trained, Willis wears a belly band in the house. However, he keeps it dry most days! His foster family can’t say enough great things about this sweet and gentle boy. Willis is completely healthy except for a heart murmur. He takes medication for his heart twice a day, but can live a completely normal life. Willis is 10 1/2 years old, weighs 10 lbs and is a mix of 16 different breeds with the top 5 being 29% Miniature Poodle, 25% Yorkie, 12% Chihuahua, 9% Cocker Spaniel, and 4% Dachshund mix. Even though he is mixed with Poodle, he does shed. If you are interested in adding this lovable, mellow senior to your family, please submit an adoption application at www.rescuerowinc.org! Story
Tink is a 3-year-old, 18-pound Lhasa Apso/Havanese mix (our best guess.) She’s a phenomenal dog—well-behaved, affectionate, smart and absurdly adorable. Tink came to us from an owner who was no longer able to care for her. She had been living in a car. At first she was very shy and stand-offish, but with a couple of weeks of food and love, she has come around nicely and is a normal, fun-loving dog. She’s very fond of stuffed toys and loves to play fetch, whether indoors or outdoors. If you are not outside, she prefers to be indoors with you. When she goes outside to do her business, she likes to be let in immediately after. Tink lives in a foster home with 5 other dogs and she gets along well with all of them, although she would prefer to be an only dog, or perhaps have one playmate. She’s not a lap dog, but she would very much like to sit beside you on the couch while you rub her belly and tell her what a pretty girl she is. She’s a great TV watching companion. Tink has her manners down. She is housetrained so well she will come and tell you when she needs to go outside. She has a particularly disarming sitting pose (see photos) that means either: 1) Take me outside to piddle. 2) Feed me. Or 3) Pet me. She rides well in a car. You can give her run of house when you’re gone; she will not destroy anything—not even her toys! She sleeps on an ottoman beside the bed. She would prefer to sleep in the bed, but dogmom already has 4 dogs in the bed and does not want 5. She can be a little barky—for example, when some other dog has the audacity to walk down the street outside her window. For that reason, we don’t recommend her for an apartment. While Tink is happy and comfortable with people she knows, she is leery of strangers. She does not show any aggression, but she backs off from attempts to pet her. She would be okay in a house with teenagers, but no younger children. Her ideal living situation is a calm house—not a lot of traffic—with a person or couple to love and dote on her, and where someone is home during the day. Tink’s adoption fee is $275 and includes spay, all puppy shots & microchip. We have had her groomed. She is heartworm-negative and on heartworm medication. Note: We always respond first to inquiries that tell us something about your living situation (house, apartment, single, family, etc.) and why you want this dog. Be sure to include your phone number in your inquiry. We call inquiries that seem to be a good fit for the dog.
