Story
She is 12 years old and weighs 12lbs. We are guessing she is a Yorkshire Terrier mix. If we had to describe her in one word, it would be SWEET! Selma does not have a mean bone in her body. Selma is blind and almost completely deaf, as she can only hear very loud noises. Even though she is blind, she navigates her surroundings great. She is also diabetic, so she requires two insulin shots a day as well as prescription food. We know this sounds scary to potential adopters. Her foster mom had never administered insulin shots before but said the needles are so tiny, and Selma never fusses when receiving them. Selma is fantastic around other dogs. She does not play with them but will happily snuggle up with another dog in a dog bed. She is also great with everyone she meets! Selma is gentle, independent, and so sweet. She spends most of her days napping in a dog bed but occasionally likes sit on a lap and get pets. She is not potty trained, but as long as she is taken out any time she wakes up from a nap, she doesn’t have any accidents. We realize that Selma has a lot stacked against her - age, blind, deaf, diabetic, and not potty trained. However, she is a special girl with so much love to give. Her forever home is out there somewhere. If you are interested in adopting Selma, please submit an adoption application at www.rescuerowinc.org!  *Please check your junk email folder if you do not receive a response from a Rescue Row member within 48 hours. *You must live within an hour of the DFW Metroplex because we do trial adoptions and require a homecheck *Our adoption fees are as follows (paid by cash, zelle, venmo or a check made out to Rescue Row): Dogs 12 weeks-6 months old: $300 adoption fee  Dogs 7 months and older: $275 adoption fee  Rescue Row is a 501(c)3 (non-profit) all volunteer dog rescue organization serving the DFW Metroplex. We are dedicated to rescuing dogs in shelters, dogs in abusive or neglectful situations, and dogs surrendered by their owners because of difficult circumstances. We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process, which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into their homes and lives. Dogs in our care are spayed or neutered, microchipped, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. We assist dogs in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement. Dogs in the greatest need take priority. Finally, we strive to work with shelters and other rescue and humane organizations to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a better world for homeless dogs. ##1849750##

Story
Now that she has recovered from her eye removal and dental, Wanda is ready to find her forever home! She is 12 years old and weighs 19lbs. We are guessing she is a Miniature Schnauzer/Yorkshire Terrier mix. Wanda has never met a stranger. She happily greets everyone she meets with tail wags and sometimes kisses. She does great with other dogs, both big and small. We believe she would do well with anyone in her forever home, including kids, cats, and other dogs. Wanda’s foster family says that she is very laid back and mellow. However, she gets super excited for meal time! She will occasionally try to play outside with her foster parents or with the other dogs in the home, but these bursts of playfulness are few and far between. She is less of a lap dog than her buddies, Willis and Naomi, and instead prefers to sleep in a dog bed on the floor. Wanda does not require a kennel and sleeps in a dog bed on the floor all night. She does not have potty accidents in the house, but only as long as she is taken out regularly, as she will not alert her fosters when she needs to go out. She had to have her right eye removed, but her vision is normal out of her left. Due to her age, her hearing is not where it used to be, but she is not deaf. Wanda is a chill, independent girl who her foster family says someone will be lucky to have. If you are interested in adopting this sweet senior, please visit rescuerowinc.org to fill out an application! *Please check your junk email folder if you do not receive a response from a Rescue Row member within 48 hours. *You must live within an hour of the DFW Metroplex because we do trial adoptions and require a homecheck *Our adoption fees are as follows (paid by cash or a check made out to Rescue Row): Dogs 12 weeks-6 months old: $300 adoption fee  Dogs 7 months and older: $275 adoption fee  Rescue Row is a 501(c)3 (non-profit) all volunteer dog rescue organization serving the DFW Metroplex. Story
Meet Joe Jo, a precious 2 year old,9 pound Yorkie boy being fostered in McKinney, TX. Only TX applicants will be considered. In the past few months my true personality is shining through. I am a very HAPPY boy all the time. I wake up happy, happy all day until it is sleepy time. I get to sleep anywhere I like and I like people beds, doggie beds, pillows on top of doggie crates, the couch, loveseat and recliner here. I still do not like crates. I can be snuggly too and I love to give out kisses. I LOVE all kinds of toys and Nyla bones. I do not deconstruct plush toys but do like to steal them from the other dogs. That is my mission sometimes to make sure I have all the toys. I do not take all of them out of the toy box these days and just pick out a few every day to play with. I do not play with items I should not, like shoes. I will just steal some things and put them in the toy box and usually it is Foster Moms bandanas and socks. I am a fabulous eater and I take treats from you gently but I will drop it and watch to see if the other dogs here do not want their cookie and try and steal it until FM tells me to go eat my own cookie. I love going outside (when it is not scorching hot) and explore the yard, chase bugs, try and catch grasshoppers and fireflies when they were in season. I am quite comical to watch especially when I get the zoomies outside and inside too. You see I have some fast legs and am quick. I am still not to comfortable with a harness and leash and that is something we are working on but it has been too hot to really do some lead walking. The weather is breaking so maybe I will get to walk in our very rural neighborhood. I am not fully potty trained and we are still working on that so I still wear those belly band fashion accessories inside the house. Sometimes the band is wet and sometimes it is not. I do wait at the door when I come in from outside so you can band me up. I am an easy going guy when it comes to baths. I do not love them but I do not hate and fight them either. The groomer I went to a while back said that I was a dream to groom, that I just let her do her job and I did not fight anything she did. I am a good guy too when you leave for errands. I just take a nap and wait until you get back home. I will always be the first one to greet you at the door and if you bring bags home I will want to stick my nose in it to see if you got anything for us dogs but will not take anything out of the bags even if it is a Ribeye steak

Story
Chip Grey is a 4 year old Schnauzer Yorkie mix with a sweet, funny personality to make your heart melt.  He loves to play with his foster brothers and sisters... but his favorite thing to do is sit in your lap and sleep right next to you!  He insists!  If you're watching tv or reading, he wants to be right next to you or in your lap.  He welcomes you home with bounces!   Chip loves toys and sitting at the window or door to see people go by. He walks great on a leash and does excellent on car rides.  He does shed some but with regular brushing his coat is lovely. Chip would be an ideal companion for a loving couple or individual - but in exchange he will need three things:  1)  Time to adjust to you and your home.  2) Trust that you won't let random people pick him up just becuase he's cute and little 3) Time to adjust to you and your home (bears repeating).  If you do these things you'll have a dog who'll love you unconditionally.   ****Prior to filling out an application or contacting RHS, please completely read the instructions below.**** ALL ADOPTERS/FOSTERS MUST LIVE WITHIN 60 MILES OF RICHARDSON, TX. RHS IS NOT A SHELTER; OUR PETS LIVE IN FOSTER HOMES IN THE DFW AREA. Adoption Process Meet the Adoption Criteria. Before you do anything else, make sure you meet our adoption criteria. You must be at least 21 years old. You must live within a 60-mile radius of Richardson, Texas. If you rent your home, you must provide verification that pets are allowed on the property. You must be willing to be interviewed by an adoption counselor and you must undergo a home visit from an RHS representative. Apply. You can complete an application at an MTP event or complete it online by either clicking the button below or the “Adopt” button beneath the pet’s photo in the listings above. Attend a Meet the Pets (MTP) event. This is a great opportunity to meet the pet you are interested in and see if you connect. We hold these events every Saturday from 1:00-3:00 p.m. We post the pets who are expected to attend on Friday evening on our Facebook page. For exact details and locations, view our event calendar. Home Visit. If all the steps above are completed satisfactorily, we will set up a home visit where you can meet the pet you are interested in again and the pet can meet other pets in the family.
