Story
Brie and Eclair are to absolutely adorable, mushy, tender sweet girls who have most definitely been longing for love their entire lives. They came into rescue after being abandoned on the side of the road when Brie was full term pregnant. People had left food out for them but they were otherwise left to fend for themselves and Brie gave birth in brush in a field. She and Eclair, whom we assume is her daughter, raised the cutest mushy roly poly little babies until our volunteers discovered them. They couldn’t believe what was going on and went out, fed them, loved on them, and packed the whole family up in the truck, when the babies were about 2 weeks old, and headed off. When they realized they were finally safe, these girls gave kisses and couldn’t stop wagging their tails. They were so so grateful to finally be in a safe place where they had food and water in their bowls, cozy blankets to snuggle up on, and loving humans! Weeks went on and the babies grew beautifully and strong. They then had their medical work done and found their forever homes! Since then, both Brie and Eclair have also had their medical work completed! Brie is the white girl, and Eclair is a brindle girl and they’re both so wonderfully mushy and loving. They are now current on vaccines, dewormed, heartworm tested, microchipped, they are current on preventative, and they’re both now spayed! They are healthy, happy, and ready to begin the next chapter of their lives together! Due to the obviously strong bond these girls have, we do not want to separate them. Brie is the more outgoing of the two, her tail always wagging and she’s always ready for a snuggle and some kisses! Eclair is the less confident of the two, but she still soaks up all the love she can get. Brie gives her wonderful assurance that the truly difficult part of life is in their past. We don’t know their history, but we can only assume being abandoned pregnant on the side of the road can only indicate that whomever had them in the past, was not a loving, nurturing person. They likely didn’t get the love and focused attention they craved in their old life, and are surely dreaming of parents who have tender, loving hearts and would love to have pups to cuddle with and who would love to show these beautiful girls how wonderful people can be and how beautiful the world truly is. They are doing great in their foster home! They are reliably going potty outside and loving to have a fenced yard to play in as well as relax out in the sun and soak up the warmth. They are country girls and are loving their time spent enjoying fresh air and summer weather. They love to snuggle up together on the sofa, and love it extra when one of their favorite humans is by their side! These girls truly do want parents who will give them lots of love and treat them as the babies they truly are in their hearts. They have such tender, soulful eyes and you can tell they just want a future that is warm, loving, safe and nurturing. Brie and Eclair are so beautiful, and have an endless amount of love to give. They are a wonderful bonded pair and can’t wait for amazing parents to pick them! If you’d love to make their dreams come true of a beautiful future together, full of love, please visit www.greatdivideanimalrescue.org and submit an application for adoption today!!

Story
Name: Kayko Nickname: Giggles Age: 2 years Weight: 40 lbs Breed: Bully mix Before OMD: Stray who spent a few weeks in the shelter before we scooped her up into rescue. Doppelgänger: A troll under the tiniest bridge you’ve ever seen with a snore that could rival a giants Energy Level: Moderate (but zoomies make her look turbo-charged!) Introvert or Extrovert: Extrovert: She thrives on attention and adores being with people. Best Physical Features: Her short little legs that fuel her zoomies, her happy grin, and her “cuddle pile” naps where she disappears into a mountain of blankets. What we love most: Her dedication to being cozy. Kayko's goal is to gather as many pillows and blankets as she can to build herself the best cuddle pile on earth (or in her house at least) so she can snore the day away. Favorite Personality Trait: Her goofy, happy-go-lucky personality that earns her the nickname Giggles. Dogs: She’s a pro at matching her energy to whatever dog she meets i.e. playful with high-energy pups, calm with mellow ones. She would be best in a home without another dominant dog as she likes to take on that role. She also needs to eat separately from other dogs. Cats: Dog-savvy cats, yes. She is pretty curious of the resident cat. Kiddos: Has been amazing with the kids she’s met. Loves being in the middle of the action. Her favorite game? Running full speed across the room into the kids’ arms for belly rubs and snuggles. Working on: learning not to steal “forbidden” toys (like toddlers’ stuffed animals). Ideal Family: A family who loves to laugh and doesn’t mind some silly antics (or snoring), someone who will enjoy her zoomies, tolerate her obsession with cardboard destruction, and treasure her cuddle-and-snore routine. Housebroken: Still working on it, but getting very close. Crate Trained: A+ student. She’s “best dog ever in a crate” status. Zero accidents, loves her downtime there. Kayko is spayed, vaccinated and heartworm negative. she is available for adoption to residents of CT and surrounding states. If you are interested in adopting, please complete an application from our website.

Meet Bojangles! This loving bully mix is just five months old and already the happy go lucky kind of dog that people dream of having. While adventuring and floating on the river are his favorite activities so far, this fella is also down for playing with other dogs. Despite his adventurous nature, Bojangles will also settle well in a crate and is totally up for snuggling with his person. If this sounds like the pup for you, please complete an application at https://www.saveastray.org/forms/form?formid=3635 Once the application is approved, a FaceTime will be set up for a virtual meet and greet. Story
Small in name, big on presence, that is Guppy! This boy is an attention-getter- the squishy face and connection seeking eyes can convince anyone to give him a little love or a free-treat. His favorite things, in no particular order, Guppy loves- kisses, booty scratches, sharing treats with his new girlfriend, and apples. Yes, apples! Maybe not that surprising but what makes it especially fun is the chompy-chomp sound it makes when he chews them, if you have ever fed a horse an apple or an apple slice, you know the sound- it is so good! We all agree, our favorite thing about Guppy is his tippy-tappy dance, reserved for his favorite people. Imagine that big beefcake greeting you at the door doing his little dance! My heart! Guppy recently went for a doggy day out with his favorite volunteers. He went to the park and played on the jungle gym, and he even went down the slide! Of course life with guppy is the best life, he will slide into any adventure with you if you’ll let him. He even got to go for not one, but TWO pup cups after. What can we say, a guy like him deserves it. Watch his fun day here and be prepared to fall totally head over heels for him. https://youtu.be/ZFyjga0j6bI?si=REOq6IpUM9h3C2eN Guppy is estimated to be 5 years old and is likely an American bulldog/Pittie mix. Of course, given Guppy is a rescue, we cannot guarantee breed or age. He currently weighs 63 lbs and has a few pounds to gain so we expect him to top out around 65-70 lbs. Another one of our favorite things about Guppy, is how great he is with kids!! He has spent a lot of time with our Director of Behavior and Intakes son and she is constantly impressed by his patience, tolerance, and over relaxed nature around her 4 year old son. Yes he is relaxed in nature around her son but he knows how to be a fun silly guy as well. Kobe loves to toss around the toys for a little game of fetch and there's Guppy just hanging out watching the action and occasionally joining in as well. He was not bothered but us rolling around on the floor with him, running around like little minions, and wasn't phased by her son jumping on and off the couch too. Another thing that we were super impressed by was Guppy's patience and impulse control with her son's fruit bar especially since he loves his snacky snacks. Guppy would sit right next to him patiently watching, hoping for a little morsel to be dropped on the floor. There was even a time when some was dropped on the floor and her son went to go pick it up and Guppy did not go zooming over to it to gobble it up. He knew it was her son's snack and not his and when it is a snack for Guppy, he was very gentle when taking treats from him and was not pushy or overbearing. He also really enjoyed licking the cheese off of her son's fingers. He's a great pup to have around to help with the after dinner clean ups. We have introduced Guppy to a variety of dogs to gauge his play style and who he gravitates to naturally. It has been easy to see that he shines brightest when he is with the ladies. You can say he is a little bit of a ladies man with the furry type and also the human type LOL. His “type” continues to be the calmer, lower-energy females. Not to say that Guppy doesn't like to play, he does but his definition of play is few and short in between and he's gotta really be feeling it. His play consists of a few seconds of romping around, maybe a few gentle body bumps here and there, then that's it. That's Guppy's play style. He does have a girlfriend, well a few actually, but his number one girlfriend is a wiggly senior female who has the same love of treats and laying around. The two of them together is just about the cutest and he really showed us he is quite the gentleman. If they were being offered treats, he always let her have one first, never once getting pushy. If looking to match-make your current dog in your home, Guppy would be a great companion for a female that matches his chill, low-energy approach to play and life. Guppy is also gentleman in his crate- he has not made a mess once in his crate. As for other pets, a no-cats or small animals home is needed. Whether its chickens or cats or similar- Guppy wants to chase and given his size that is an avoidable bit of chaos. On walks, Guppy’s excitement to be out and about greeting the people and seeing the sights, can lead to him pulling, so he is actively practicing leash training and making great progress everyday. The truth is though, this boy isn’t the outdoor adventure type, his interest in being outside is limited to backyard potty breaks, after that he is headed back inside to that cozy spot by your feet. He is happy to go out in the back yard for a potty break and then back to that spot by your feet or in his cozy bed. If you really want him to be a true 'couch potato” you may have to offer him a few of the good treats and even then he is going to let you hear a tiny bit of sass back. Its a cute little chatter that makes us all laugh. You will see a moment of it in his intro-video. His treat-motivated focus makes him a great candidate for continued teaching and training whether its just for fun or to polish him up to be a model best-boy but he comes with the basic- a great sit and a good recall. Another time Guppy uses his voice is to say hi from a distance when he sees someone he likes or wants to meet, it isn’t excessive but it does make him better suited for house living rather than an apartment. At the rescue when Guppy is hanging out in the living room he doesn’t use his voice to greet people though, he just hops up and comes right over, whether he knows you or its your first time passing through. From painters to volunteers, everyone got a Guppy Greeting! Guppy is ready to find his forever home, where his low-maintenance personality and goofy nature will be cherished and his booty regularly scratched. If you’re looking for a hang-out all day, full of love, companion who will keep you smiling, Guppy could be the one for you. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!  Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.  The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.  While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs. It doesn’t stop there! Story
Meet Atticus, a SUPER sweet and lovable ~3 year old neutered male terrier/Boxer/lab mix (see pic of Embark DNA results), weighing about 54 lbs! This special boy was picked up as a stray by animal control in east TN. He spent some time in a shelter before being taken into rescue and transported up north, where he has been with his foster family for 7 months now. His foster family absolutely ADORES him and they don’t understand how he hasn’t been adopted yet.  Atticus is a friendly, goofy lovebug who just wants to love and be loved He also thinks he is a lap dog and he dares you to tell him otherwise! He has a zest for life and you can tell by the way he looks at you with such love in his eyes that he is DEEPLY thankful for being given a second chance. He will make you laugh every single day with his silly antics, and then he will happily be your little spoon when you're ready for bed. He is also very smart and knows many commands, he is food motivated and a fast learner!  This handsome guy is a true social butterfly! He absolutely LOVES people, and he is excellent with kids. He loves vigorous pets and butt scratches, and he will happily wiggle his WHOLE body with excitement when you give him attention! He gives the best hugs and kisses and makes the cutest like piggy noises when he is happy   Atticus does well with the resident dogs in his foster home, but he is dog selective and is typically not a fan of large fluffy dogs or dominant dogs. He tends to do better with dogs who are smaller than him. He does have some resource guarding tendencies when it comes to other dogs and food/treats (we always recommend feeding dogs separately regardless). He has not shown any resource guarding tendencies with people, only with other dogs. He has not been cat treated, so we are unsure how he would do with cats.  Atticus came to us with some reactivity to other dogs, which has unfortunately caused him to not "show" well at adoption events. His foster family has been working hard with him on this, with the help of K9 Rehab in Watertown, CT. He is now e-collar trained and walks beautifully on leash, even surrounded by other dogs. We are SO proud of the amazing progress he has made! As part of their Underdog program, K9 Rehab has generously offered continued training classes to Atticus’s adopter for FREE!  Atticus’s ideal home is one where he will be a cherished family member and given the love and attention that he so deserves. He is happiest when he is with his people, so it is important that he goes to a home where he will be welcomed on the couch and in his human’s bed - he is the perfect snuggle buddy! Additionally, we would like to see Atticus go to someone who is willing to keep up with his training to help him be the best version of himself. He is a truly wonderful dog who will absolutely thrive in the right home, and we just know that home is out there. Atticus is medically up to date and housebroken. Apply to meet this special boy today! Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs.  We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted.  As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save. We believe that ALL dogs deserve a second chance. Thank you for your support and understanding! ##2553222##

Story
Meet Bruno, a handsome young neutered male mixed breed doggo (our best guess is Boxer/Dutch Shepherd - DNA results pending! ). He is approximately 1 year old and weighs about 35 lbs - the perfect size! Pictures really don't do this guy justice, he's got the most beautiful brindle coat and the BEST ears!   Bruno is a friendly, energetic boy who gets along well with other dogs, people, and kids (we recommend older kids 8+ as he is an exuberant young guy and may unintentionally knock over a small child). He has not been cat tested, so we are unsure how he would do with cats. Bruno is smart and food motivated, he has been taking training classes to work on manners and impulse control, and he has been doing GREAT! The ideal home for Bruno is one where he will get plenty of mental and/or physical stimulation to set him up for success. He would also LOVE a fenced in yard of his own and maybe another playful pup in the home to keep him company! From Bruno's current foster:  "Bruno came to Connecticut Sept. 6. Age unknown (possibly a year old, had adult teeth), heritage unknown (Dutch shepherd mix? Heeler? Boxer? Min Pin?). HAPPILY, absolutely no aggression, but lots of energy. Fast forward two months, and he is a really great dog, LOVES training and LOVES to show off his focus. About 35 lbs, a great size. He enjoys our fenced yard and chew bones, loves our weekly training sessions, where he has mastered sit/down/touch/look/wait and even leave it. After 3 sessions, I know he can be your forever companion as long as he has an active life or daily job. Maybe agility? Hiking? With more training, maybe a service dog or companion dog? Not a great candidate for someone working away from home 8 hrs/day, a first time dog owner or family with young children as he is exuberant." Bruno is medically up to date, housebroken, and crate trained.
