Story
Brie and Eclair are to absolutely adorable, mushy, tender sweet girls who have most definitely been longing for love their entire lives. They came into rescue after being abandoned on the side of the road when Brie was full term pregnant. People had left food out for them but they were otherwise left to fend for themselves and Brie gave birth in brush in a field. She and Eclair, whom we assume is her daughter, raised the cutest mushy roly poly little babies until our volunteers discovered them. They couldn’t believe what was going on and went out, fed them, loved on them, and packed the whole family up in the truck, when the babies were about 2 weeks old, and headed off. When they realized they were finally safe, these girls gave kisses and couldn’t stop wagging their tails. They were so so grateful to finally be in a safe place where they had food and water in their bowls, cozy blankets to snuggle up on, and loving humans! Weeks went on and the babies grew beautifully and strong. They then had their medical work done and found their forever homes! Since then, both Brie and Eclair have also had their medical work completed! Brie is the white girl, and Eclair is a brindle girl and they’re both so wonderfully mushy and loving. They are now current on vaccines, dewormed, heartworm tested, microchipped, they are current on preventative, and they’re both now spayed! They are healthy, happy, and ready to begin the next chapter of their lives together! Due to the obviously strong bond these girls have, we do not want to separate them. Brie is the more outgoing of the two, her tail always wagging and she’s always ready for a snuggle and some kisses! Eclair is the less confident of the two, but she still soaks up all the love she can get. Brie gives her wonderful assurance that the truly difficult part of life is in their past. We don’t know their history, but we can only assume being abandoned pregnant on the side of the road can only indicate that whomever had them in the past, was not a loving, nurturing person. They likely didn’t get the love and focused attention they craved in their old life, and are surely dreaming of parents who have tender, loving hearts and would love to have pups to cuddle with and who would love to show these beautiful girls how wonderful people can be and how beautiful the world truly is. They are doing great in their foster home! They are reliably going potty outside and loving to have a fenced yard to play in as well as relax out in the sun and soak up the warmth. They are country girls and are loving their time spent enjoying fresh air and summer weather. They love to snuggle up together on the sofa, and love it extra when one of their favorite humans is by their side! These girls truly do want parents who will give them lots of love and treat them as the babies they truly are in their hearts. They have such tender, soulful eyes and you can tell they just want a future that is warm, loving, safe and nurturing. Brie and Eclair are so beautiful, and have an endless amount of love to give. They are a wonderful bonded pair and can’t wait for amazing parents to pick them! If you’d love to make their dreams come true of a beautiful future together, full of love, please visit www.greatdivideanimalrescue.org and submit an application for adoption today!!

Story
Name: Kayko Nickname: Giggles Age: 2 years Weight: 40 lbs Breed: Bully mix Before OMD: Stray who spent a few weeks in the shelter before we scooped her up into rescue. Doppelgänger: A troll under the tiniest bridge you’ve ever seen with a snore that could rival a giants Energy Level: Moderate (but zoomies make her look turbo-charged!) Introvert or Extrovert: Extrovert: She thrives on attention and adores being with people. Best Physical Features: Her short little legs that fuel her zoomies, her happy grin, and her “cuddle pile” naps where she disappears into a mountain of blankets. What we love most: Her dedication to being cozy. Kayko's goal is to gather as many pillows and blankets as she can to build herself the best cuddle pile on earth (or in her house at least) so she can snore the day away. Favorite Personality Trait: Her goofy, happy-go-lucky personality that earns her the nickname Giggles. Dogs: She’s a pro at matching her energy to whatever dog she meets i.e. playful with high-energy pups, calm with mellow ones. She would be best in a home without another dominant dog as she likes to take on that role. She also needs to eat separately from other dogs. Cats: Dog-savvy cats, yes. She is pretty curious of the resident cat. Kiddos: Has been amazing with the kids she’s met. Loves being in the middle of the action. Her favorite game? Running full speed across the room into the kids’ arms for belly rubs and snuggles. Working on: learning not to steal “forbidden” toys (like toddlers’ stuffed animals). Ideal Family: A family who loves to laugh and doesn’t mind some silly antics (or snoring), someone who will enjoy her zoomies, tolerate her obsession with cardboard destruction, and treasure her cuddle-and-snore routine. Housebroken: Still working on it, but getting very close. Crate Trained: A+ student. She’s “best dog ever in a crate” status. Zero accidents, loves her downtime there. Kayko is spayed, vaccinated and heartworm negative. she is available for adoption to residents of CT and surrounding states. If you are interested in adopting, please complete an application from our website.

Meet Bojangles! This loving bully mix is just five months old and already the happy go lucky kind of dog that people dream of having. While adventuring and floating on the river are his favorite activities so far, this fella is also down for playing with other dogs. Despite his adventurous nature, Bojangles will also settle well in a crate and is totally up for snuggling with his person. If this sounds like the pup for you, please complete an application at https://www.saveastray.org/forms/form?formid=3635 Once the application is approved, a FaceTime will be set up for a virtual meet and greet. Story
Lola is a sweet, loyal 3–4 year old American Bulldog who weighs 55 lbs and is fully grown. She’s the definition of a gentle soul. She is calm, affectionate, and happiest when she’s simply spending time with the people she loves. Lola is a laid-back couch potato who would love nothing more than to lounge beside you during a movie marathon, nap at your feet while you work, or stretch out in a sunny spot for an afternoon snooze. Though she enjoys her relaxation time, Lola also has a playful side. She loves playing fetch with her balls, soaking up warmth on sunny days, and watching squirrels run through the trees as if she’s catching up on her favorite nature show. She’s wonderful at entertaining herself and is incredibly easy to live with. If you work from home, she’s the perfect companion. She's content to snooze, chew on a bone, or entertain herself with her toys while you focus, but always ready to give you a soft nuzzle or wagging tail during breaks. Lola is a true sweetheart with new people she meets and is very polite during introductions. She will sit there patiently, just quietly watching with hope and curiosity until you invite her over for pets and snuggles. She is a major lover of food, so just share some yummy treats with her and you will forever be her best friend. She takes treats with the gentlest, softest bulldog lips and has a way of looking at you with those big, soulful eyes that makes you feel instantly loved. She loves being with her people and will follow you from room to room like a big, loyal bulldog shadow. She is truly the type of dog that just blends seamlessly into whatever environment she is in and is always happy just being in her human's presence, no matter what you're doing. If you want to have a lazy movie day and cuddle on the couch, she's up for it. If you want to go on a fun outdoor adventure, she's up for that too. Lola is ready to bring unconditional love, steady companionship, and a peaceful, comforting presence to the lucky family who chooses her. She has so much love to give and she’s just waiting for her forever people to give it to. Lola is low to medium energy, so she has short bursts of energy that can be easily burned with play sessions outside in the backyard or leisurely walks around the neighborhood. She loves it when her humans are involved in her outdoor activities, whether it is tossing her favorite balls for a game of fetch or engaging in training activities with her favorite treats. She enjoys a nice balance of playtime and relaxation, and loves to cuddle up on the couch for cuddles and naps after each play session. She gets her energy out by running around the yard and being silly as she plays with her doggy friends. While she enjoys playing with her doggy friends, she’s also perfectly content to entertain herself with her favorite toys when she can't find another pup to play with. Her favorite activities involve engaging in mental stimulation games with her humans. Hide a treat is her favorite and loves to play with doggy puzzles that she can work at to get her favorite treats out. When she is in her forever home, she would love to go on casual neighborhood walks and explore nature trails on longer hikes. Her ideal home will have a toy box full of squeaky toys, tennis balls, and chew toys, and she’d be thrilled to have a BarkBox subscription to keep the fun going with new surprises every month. Lola is dog friendly and kid friendly. She loves to play and cuddle with the resident dogs in her foster home. She is currently in a foster home with both large and small dogs that range in age from young adult to senior. She does well with them all, and is respectful of their personal space and understands when they are ready for nap time. When she's in a playful mood, but knows they don't want to play with her, she will find a toy to keep herself entertained with or curl up on the couch to nap instead. She does best with low energy, laid back dogs and does need to do slow intros with new dogs she meets only because she's the type of dog that just wants to coexist around other dogs at first. Once she's comfortable and knows that new dog isn't going to be mean to her, she lets her guard down and will start playing with them. She is avoidant when it comes to conflict with other dogs and if another dog is reactive towards her, she will try her best to avoid them and just walk away. She would do perfectly fine being the only dog in the home, but she really loves her current doggy friends and would love to have a laid back dog in her forever home to play and cuddle with. Lola has done well with kids she has met, but because of her big bulldog wiggle butt, it is recommended no babies or toddlers that she may knock over if she gets excited and her big tail starts wagging hard. She loves to play fetch and share her sweet puppy kisses, and is very gentle when she asks for affection. She would do great with a family with older kids who want a cuddly, loving pup to play and snuggle with. She has not been introduced to cats, so it is recommended there be no kitties in the home to be on the safe side, unless you can do very slow intros and can keep them separated if needed. Lola is kennel trained, potty trained, and leash trained. She sleeps in a kennel at night with no fuss and just likes to be tucked into bed with a yummy treat to work on until she falls asleep. She would really love to sleep in bed with her humans in her forever home, or even on a dog bed near their bed so she can be close to them while she sleeps. She is fully potty trained and will not have an accident in the house. She is great with routines and schedules, and adjusts her potty breaks based on her fosters' schedules. She does sleep through the night without needing to go outside, so don't worry - she won't wake you up in the middle of the night for a potty break. When it comes to walking on a leash, she is a bulldog and is very strong, so she can pull initially if she has lots of pent up energy. Her fosters are working on loose leash training methods for walks and are making progress, but she still needs more practice. For this reason, it is recommended that she lives in a lower traffic area or suburban neighborhood where she can have more space on sidewalks to continue practicing. However, if she lives in a high traffic area, an experienced adopter would be able to continue working with her. She is very treat motivated and trainable, but needs her adopter to also be motivated to continue practicing with her. Lola's ideal home would be with a bulldog savvy adopter in a house with a fenced in backyard for her to run around and play in. She would not do well in an apartment, townhouse, or condo because she really enjoys spending time lounging in the backyard sunbathing and playing fetch. She would love if her human works from home or has a hybrid schedule because she really loves being with her humans, but would do perfectly fine if her human works out of the home as long as she gets some cuddles and playtime in before you head to the office. No public dog parks for this sweet girl (who wants to risk your pup catching a disease or being bullied on by other random dogs anyways), but would love to go to Sniff Spots or have occasional play dates with doggy friends. She would do love to have a family with older kids to play and cuddle with, and would do well with another laid back, lower energy dog in the home to cuddle and play with. She would also be perfectly fine being the center of attention in her forever home and being the only fur-child to her humans. If you’ve been dreaming of a devoted snuggle buddy, a gentle companion, and a loyal best friend, Lola is the perfect dog for you. Lola is in a foster home in Austin, Texas. She can be adopted and transported to the following cities/states: https://www.loveandpuppypawsdogrescue.com/transport-locations This is a courtesy post for LAPP Dog Rescue. If you are interested in adopting Lola, please fill out an application at: https://www.loveandpuppypawsdogrescue.com/adoption-application. TRANSPORT: Currently we have monthly transports. It will be up to the adoptive family to meet the transport to pick up your new family member. Please be advised that our dogs are adopted to their forever families prior to being transported. Unfortunately at this time, we cannot bring dogs for a typical meet and greet situation, due to the extensiveness of the transport distance and it being unfair for the dogs who are not adopted to have to make the trip back. Please be advised that applications are reviewed in the order that they are received. To ensure we are honoring the dogs that we have committed to helping, we do have policies and procedures in place that we follow when reviewing adoption applications. LAPP Dog Rescue is ran 100% by volunteers, so please be mindful that when you submit an application that it can take a few days to be reviewed. Submitting an application is not a confirmation that the adoption will be approved/completed. Before submitting the application, please read the FULL description on PetFinder describing the dog's personality, energy level, housing requirements and our policy on meet and greets. The cost to adopt is $530 - $550, depending on where she is transported to. The cost to adopt includes a $300 adoption fee and a $230 - $250 transport fee (it will be $250 for transport to the PNW and $230 for other states not in the PNW). The adoption fee includes all age appropriate vaccinations, spay procedure, microchip, flea/heartworm prevention, health certificate from a licensed veterinarian, plus any necessary vet care while in the rescue's care. Story
Meet Atticus, a SUPER sweet and lovable ~3 year old neutered male terrier/Boxer/lab mix (see pic of Embark DNA results), weighing about 54 lbs! This special boy was picked up as a stray by animal control in east TN. He spent some time in a shelter before being taken into rescue and transported up north, where he has been with his foster family for 7 months now. His foster family absolutely ADORES him and they don’t understand how he hasn’t been adopted yet.  Atticus is a friendly, goofy lovebug who just wants to love and be loved He also thinks he is a lap dog and he dares you to tell him otherwise! He has a zest for life and you can tell by the way he looks at you with such love in his eyes that he is DEEPLY thankful for being given a second chance. He will make you laugh every single day with his silly antics, and then he will happily be your little spoon when you're ready for bed. He is also very smart and knows many commands, he is food motivated and a fast learner!  This handsome guy is a true social butterfly! He absolutely LOVES people, and he is excellent with kids. He loves vigorous pets and butt scratches, and he will happily wiggle his WHOLE body with excitement when you give him attention! He gives the best hugs and kisses and makes the cutest like piggy noises when he is happy   Atticus does well with the resident dogs in his foster home, but he is dog selective and is typically not a fan of large fluffy dogs or dominant dogs. He tends to do better with dogs who are smaller than him. He does have some resource guarding tendencies when it comes to other dogs and food/treats (we always recommend feeding dogs separately regardless). He has not shown any resource guarding tendencies with people, only with other dogs. He has not been cat treated, so we are unsure how he would do with cats.  Atticus came to us with some reactivity to other dogs, which has unfortunately caused him to not "show" well at adoption events. His foster family has been working hard with him on this, with the help of K9 Rehab in Watertown, CT. He is now e-collar trained and walks beautifully on leash, even surrounded by other dogs. We are SO proud of the amazing progress he has made! As part of their Underdog program, K9 Rehab has generously offered continued training classes to Atticus’s adopter for FREE!  Atticus’s ideal home is one where he will be a cherished family member and given the love and attention that he so deserves. He is happiest when he is with his people, so it is important that he goes to a home where he will be welcomed on the couch and in his human’s bed - he is the perfect snuggle buddy! Additionally, we would like to see Atticus go to someone who is willing to keep up with his training to help him be the best version of himself. He is a truly wonderful dog who will absolutely thrive in the right home, and we just know that home is out there. Atticus is medically up to date and housebroken. Apply to meet this special boy today! Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs.  We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted.  As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save. We believe that ALL dogs deserve a second chance. Thank you for your support and understanding! ##2553222##

Story
Meet Bruno, a handsome young neutered male mixed breed doggo (our best guess is Boxer/Dutch Shepherd - DNA results pending! ). He is approximately 1 year old and weighs about 35 lbs - the perfect size! Pictures really don't do this guy justice, he's got the most beautiful brindle coat and the BEST ears!   Bruno is a friendly, energetic boy who gets along well with other dogs, people, and kids (we recommend older kids 8+ as he is an exuberant young guy and may unintentionally knock over a small child). He has not been cat tested, so we are unsure how he would do with cats. Bruno is smart and food motivated, he has been taking training classes to work on manners and impulse control, and he has been doing GREAT! The ideal home for Bruno is one where he will get plenty of mental and/or physical stimulation to set him up for success. He would also LOVE a fenced in yard of his own and maybe another playful pup in the home to keep him company! From Bruno's current foster:  "Bruno came to Connecticut Sept. 6. Age unknown (possibly a year old, had adult teeth), heritage unknown (Dutch shepherd mix? Heeler? Boxer? Min Pin?). HAPPILY, absolutely no aggression, but lots of energy. Fast forward two months, and he is a really great dog, LOVES training and LOVES to show off his focus. About 35 lbs, a great size. He enjoys our fenced yard and chew bones, loves our weekly training sessions, where he has mastered sit/down/touch/look/wait and even leave it. After 3 sessions, I know he can be your forever companion as long as he has an active life or daily job. Maybe agility? Hiking? With more training, maybe a service dog or companion dog? Not a great candidate for someone working away from home 8 hrs/day, a first time dog owner or family with young children as he is exuberant." Bruno is medically up to date, housebroken, and crate trained.
