Story
Meet our local celebrity, Dora the Explorer! Dora is around 2.5 years old and she weighs around 58 lbs. Dora was spotted for over 1 year traveling a wide area and numerous concerned citizens became concerned that Dora had lost her way and her family. A group of volunteers made it their mission to rescue Dora. After being caught it was evident that at some point she had a family that loved her because she knew many commands and was proving to be a very intelligent girl. Dora is very playful. She bonds to her humans very quickly and would just love to be a couch potato when she is not out in the yard entertaining herself or having fun playing fetch. Her foster family has several older dogs and Dora seems fine with them, however, Dora would do great as well, as a single dog family because she loves her people! Any questions about her can be answered by her foster mom and we can put you in touch with her. Dora is ready to travel when the perfect home is found for her. Story
Maddox is a great young boy looking for his forever home! He has been learning to walk on a leash and learning his doggie manners, which he is mastering nicely. He is right at a year old so having an active family would be a plus for this boy. He loves to run and play and gets along great with all the foster dogs he lives with. He would get along great with the kiddos but with his size and activeness, caution would need to be taken just because he is so active and stout. He would make a great companion for any size family but someone who likes to take walks or jogs would be ideal for Maddox. Maddox is ready to travel now. Working on his potty-training and doing a great job. Go ahead and apply for this handsome young puppers as he will be grabbed up in no time at all! Watch his video at https://youtube.com/shorts/R8NyufGFtD0?feature=share Maddox is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. This dog has tested negative for heartworms. The adoption fee is $450 if your adoption is prepaid and final prior to your dog's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on dogs that are picked up from our Southbury CT adoption center, adopted at an event, or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368. WANT TO MEET OUR DOGS IN PERSON? Check the Events tab on cprdogs.com for all weekend adoption event info. The majority of the dogs marked as 'meet me' will be there to see you! If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at our Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05. Story
This 4 month old snuggly beauty is ready for a home to call her very own! She loves to play with other pups, loves all the nice people that she meets and will be a wonderful addition to any loving home. She was one of our lucky pups who happened to be in attendance at the Slumber Pawty and all reports said she was the coziest and snuggliest of the bunch! She's one of the volunteers' favorites and we're all rooting for her to find her family! Claire Is spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, treated for all of the intestinal parasites, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. Because intestinal parasites are cyclical, your puppy may need additional treatment once you get him/her home. This is common and nothing to be alarmed about. Puppies and dogs need to be treated periodically for parasites throughout their entire lives. Visit our website to see our weekend Events here! Pups with the designated “meet me” next to their names are in CT and ready to attend adoption events. Please check with your adoption coordinator if you are interested in a specific dog prior to coming to an event, as a dog's availability to attend can change at any time. We can not guarantee approval on site at the events, so we recommend applying ahead of time. You can apply at the event, but the application process may not be able to be completed the same day. If you are not pre-approved, you are still welcome to come and meet pup’s at the event! The adoption fee is $600 which includes spay/neuter, up to date vaccinations, flea/tick and heartworm preventatives, and the mandatory CT HB 5368 fee. More and more of our adopters are having fun with DNA tests on their pups. You might ask yourself why our breed guess is varying degrees of difference from the DNA tests. Most of our puppies are rescued from high kill shelters or other abandonment situations and we have no info on parents. When we rescue puppies that have no background info, we make our very best educated guess as to breed mix and age. Our guesstimate comes from years and years and years of animal welfare work and training, but our guesses won't always agree with your vet, your neighbor, your DNA test, etc. The most important thing to know about your puppy's breed mix is that most likely he/she is a Super Lovable Mutt made of many many many different breeds. If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at the Woburn MA isolation facility. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back. Story
Snow, with her once matted and dirt-streaked fur, embodies the indomitable spirit of survival. Snow was rescued by local law enforcement after a concerned neighbor reported her neglect. Snow was pregnant and tied out with a plastic dog house that had no bedding. She also had no food or water. Imagine her, tethered in solitude, her belly swollen with life, yet denied the most basic necessities. She endured hunger, thirst, and the biting cold, her eyes pleading for mercy. But fate intervened, and compassionate hands untangled her from that cruel existence. Now, Snow stands before you—a testament to resilience, a beacon of hope. Her gentle eyes hold stories untold, and her wagging tail whispers of forgiveness. She gave birth in a municipal shelter in rural West TN and is looking to put her momming days behind her. Snow seeks a home where her past fades into distant memory, replaced by the promise of a brighter future. If you’re ready to be her hero, contact us for more information on how to adopt her. Together, we’ll rewrite her story—one of redemption, compassion, and unwavering devotion. 🐾❤️ Let Snow’s journey inspire yours. 🏡🐶 Snow is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. Story
Pepper is a doll! AATDR saved her from a high kill shelter when she was about to be euthanized. She was so scared in the shelter and has really blossomed and shown us what a happy, loving dog she is! Pepper is about 6 years old. She loves a good game of fetch and running around in the yard, but she's not a high energy girl. She's just as happy to give kisses and cuddles. Since we saved her she's been in boarding, and she's longing to be in a home! Either foster or forever. She can be fostered or adopted either in CT or in the Houston TX area. If you can invite her to join your family, please let us know!

Story
We would like you to meet Reign!  Reign is a stunning 3 year old English Bulldog that is looking for her forever home! Reign is a silly girl with a lot of personality once she trusts you, but she needs forever people that are willing to take it slow and let that trust build! Reign could live with another dog as long as her forever people take it slow and are willing to monitor closely for a bit. Reign will need to be fed separately from any dogs in the house. She would also be happy to be your one and only. Reign is good with kids but would do best with kids that are 10+ in the home. We are not sure how she is with cats, so a feline free home would be best. Reign is house broken and crate trained. Reign loves a good evening stroll and a stuffie to play with. She is happy to hang out and chill and be the best companion once she trusts you! Structure is important for all dogs, but Reign is very much the kind of bully girl that will think she runs the house if she is not kept in line with rules and boundaries. For this reason, we are looking for experienced owners for her and won’t be considering first time dog owners. Reign would love ongoing training as a way to form a bond with her humans. Previous experience with  brachycephalic dog breeds and their physical needs and limitations is also preferred.  Reign is a gem of a pup that is just looking for her people!  If you have room in your home and heart for Reign, please visit our website and fill out an application!
