Story
Meet our big goofy guy named Bongo! Bongo is about 6 years old, and he is an American Bulldog mix. Bongo came to us after his owner lost his home and he had nowhere to take Bongo. In his kennel, Bongo is a bit sad looking, but once he is out with us, he is a really happy and doofy boy! He is a large dog weighing about 80 lbs. Bongo loves to get attention and get butt scratches. He is middle aged and has some older dog lumps and bumps on him. He is a nice dog who would love to have a home with a family to love up on him! Bongo has shown he is friendly with other dogs and he is playful with them if they are friendly towards him. He can go to a home with children 12 years old and older. If you are interested in adopting Bongo, Please Email us at Adopt@savingpawsct.org for an application! His adoption fee is $75.00. PLEASE CHECK YOUR EMAIL SPAM FOLDER! MAC IS OPEN 7 DAYS A WEEK (M-F 8-4pm) (Sat-Sun 10-4pm) Applications must be submitted and approved BEFORE a meet and greet can be scheduled to meet an animal. Appts to meet dogs can made to suit your schedule, please email/call for an appt. We do prefer to be contacted by email for adoption inquiries at Adopt@savingpawsct.org. The office phone number is 203-235-4179. Leave a message, and someone will call you back promptly. PLEASE CHECK YOUR EMAIL SPAM FOLDER! You must be 21 years of age to adopt with valid ID. There is a short application for adoption, however if you do not own your home, or you own a condo, we must speak with your landlord or housing association giving permission to dogs/cats. Bully breed specific permission is required if you rent or own a condo. If you own your home, proof of home ownership is required. If there are other pets in the home they must be licensed (if a dog) and up to date on vaccinations. If there is another dog in the home a dog interaction must be done at the shelter before adoption, to ensure the safety and well being of all pets. All children in the home need to be declared and brought down to meet the animal. Applications must be submitted and approved BEFORE a meet and greet can be scheduled to meet an animal. An approved application does not guarantee an adoption. We do not hold animals for meet and greet appointments. ALL ANIMALS ARE SPAYED AND NEUTERED BEFORE THEY GO HOME. Story
Meet our local celebrity, Dora the Explorer! Dora is around 3 years old and she weighs around 58 lbs. Dora was spotted for over 1 year traveling a wide area and numerous concerned citizens became concerned that Dora had lost her way and her family. A group of volunteers made it their mission to rescue Dora. After being caught it was evident that at some point she had a family that loved her because she knew many commands and was proving to be a very intelligent girl. Dora is very playful. She bonds to her humans very quickly and would just love to be a couch potato when she is not out in the yard entertaining herself or having fun playing fetch. Her foster family has several older dogs and Dora seems fine with them, however, Dora would do great as well, as a single dog family because she loves her people! Any questions about her can be answered by her foster mom and we can put you in touch with her. Dora is ready to travel when the perfect home is found for her. Story
Welcome Contessa to CCPAL Rescue. She is a 6-year-old American Bulldog/Pittie mix is our guess. She has an adorable blue and one brown eye. She weighs about 50 pounds and is good with other dogs. She barks at her kennel door so her best place would be with a wooden privacy fence. She is moderate to low activity and loves to be touched. She is good in her crate and will make some lucky family a good companion. She is lower energy so she could go with a more relaxed and laid-back family. She could also go with children. We like them to be 10 or older. She was found as a stray on the construction site and had to survive until a good Samaritan caught her and brought her to CCPAL rescue. She warms up slowly but bonds deeply to her people. She has fallen in love with the kennel fellas. She is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally in Texas or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 200 and transport is 180. She is healthy, vaccinated, spayed and ready for her forever home. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Story
Welcome Buddy to CCPAL Rescue. He is a 2-year old American Bulldog and Australian Cattle dog is our best guess on the mix. He has a lower coat and does shed. He is a bit of a puller on leash when he first gets out of his kennel. He is intelligent, affectionate and ready to learn. It doesn’t appear he would be hard to train but may have not had a lot of training in his first home. He would be great for a runner, jogger or hiker. He is sturdy and could keep pace and would love to join his human. He is in my opinion a perfect man dog. He loves men naturally and leans in to show his affection. He hasn’t been reactive on leash when walking around other dogs. He is social and not afraid of new people. He is exuberant so we think he would be best around children that are 8 or older. He would do great with an active family that wants an active companion. He does slow down and likes to chill out as well. He is not perpetual motion. He is getting neutered soon and is already getting his vaccinations and will be chipped. He is hw negative and ready for his forever home. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 300 and transport is 200. . Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Story
**This dog will NOT be attending the event due to her not liking other dogs. If interested in meeting TayTay, please apply via Dog Days or www.brasscityrescue.org Meet Taylor, a playful girl looking for her forever home! She was abandoned in a crate outside of our shelter in March 2024. She was emaciated and in rough shape. She's got a healthy appetite and we were able to easily put weight on her and build an immediate repore with her. This cute and curious chick is a people pleaser who loves to be around her human friends. She is full of energy and always ready for an adventure. With her intelligence and playful personality, Taylor will make the perfect companion for someone who enjoys long walks or runs in the park. She loves to explore and would be an ideal fit for an active household. Taylor is looking for a home with no other pets and no young children. As a curious and playful gal, she can get easily distracted by other animals and may need correction to keep it moving on walks. It's kind of like seeing a squirrel!! She loves spending her days playing with her favorite toys and is very independent. Taylor appreciates long walks, and cuddling. She loves to roll in the dirt and grass but doesn't fight bath time too much. She has a prescription diet for her allergies and gets a benedryl as needed. She's been waiting so long for a home and it's been emotionally taxing on her but she's resilient. Are you her looking for a diamond in the rough? She's it. Apply to adopt her at www.brasscityrescue.org

Story
This big ultra ham, meatball of a bully is Riley! This guy came into the pound when his owner was hospitalized and Riley was left indefinitely in his owners apartment. Fortunately it was realized that he was in there and animal control was able to get him out of the apartment and bring him to the pound. This wrinkly mush was so sad and confused. The pound was full and it became clear quick that this guy needed to make it out. Thankfully a fabulous foster was found to take him in until he finds his new forever home! This hunk is about 4-5 years old and weighs 70 lbs currently though will likely fill out a little to be about 75 lbs. He’s thick, wrinkly, and adorable! He’s a blend of bulldogs which is excellent as you have the big mushiness and wrinkles but no health issues! This guy is now current on vaccines, deworming, microchipped, neutered, and he’s current on preventative as well! He’s doing great and excited to meet his human soulmate! This guy has been absolutely fantastic in foster care. From day one he hasn’t had any accidents, he walks great on a leash, he plays with toys, is non destructive and has been the perfect blend of easy going but ready for adventure. He’s fine having a lazy day on the sofa catching a movie, and he’s also happy to hop right in the car to go for a ride with you anywhere you want to go! He’s lived as an only dog his entire life so he is a great candidate for a home who would like to only have a single dog, however he’s also been great with other friendly dogs, so a home with doggy friends is good too! He is an avid snuggler and absolutely enjoys snuggling in bed at night and being your bestest friend. He enjoys hikes and long walks, playing fetch in the yard, playing with toys, really whatever you’d like to do, he’s ready for it. He’ll read your energy and be lazy on lazy days, and take on the world on days where you’re ready for adventure! He’s a great age, big teddy bear mush size, he loves to give kisses and hugs, and can’t wait to put the past behind him and move forward into a loving, happy, devoted home that he can call his very own forever. If this gorgeous guy is your dream pup, please visit www.greatdivideanimalrescue.org and submit an application for adoption today!!!

For more info on Zuryia please contact Carrie Bowman 731-267-5535 or email cabowman67@yahoo.com for an application to adopt. Zuryia is just a big pup who wants nothing more then to be loved and to play with her toys. Zuryia loves playing ball and gathering her toys to her crate where she hoards them. Zuryia was surrendered to a kill shelter along with her pups where she took great care of them. She does great with cats and amazing with kids, but can be intimidated by other dogs that are somewhat dominate or pushy. She would prefer a home where she can be the only dog but she will give you more attention and love then 10 dogs put together. This girl is amazingly sweet and loving. Zuryia says if you can look past the scars from her past life and see her for the love bug she is, she will be the companion you have always wanted.
