Story
*** LOCAL ADOPTION ONLY *** Hi! My name is Cool Hand Luke. Well ok, it’s just Luke, but I am cool and a joy to be around, if I say so myself ! I adore my humans, will lap up all the attention, hugs and kisses and give you unconditional love.  I like other dogs, prefer ones my own size and energy level, calmer the better and respect my personal space, know boundaries.  I'm not a huge fan of feathered friends, farm animals or cats, they kinda freak me out. I would be okay as an only child too because all I really need is a family to love forever, good times or bad. I'm super loyal, will always have your back and I’m a GREAT listener!   I also enjoy movie night' or lounging quietly reading a book (okay I really can’t read), and will even indulge you playing dress up, yep I’ll wear the hat & shirt you bought just for me! Anything for you. Once overhead the comment “he could easily become a mama’s boy”, I may look like a tough guy but give me a few minutes and will melt anyone heart, well maybe not the cat!  I enjoy any outing to see new places and make new friends, so count me in, going for car rides and walks one of my favorites.  I’m a good boy with proven home skills and will be a loving companion. My ideal home will be with dog savvy people to keep me centered in a calm, firm way and have a solid daily routine providing enrichment and exercise. I'm 8-years-young with bunches of snuggles, car rides, hikes and adventures to make memories with a family!   Contact my friends at Ruff Dog and tell them you want to meet "Cool hand LUKE". Please note, we receive a large number of applications. We appreciate your patience as we complete our review processes. A personal interview, reference checks, meet and greet with pet, home visit and a solid vet history, including administering Heartworm prevention are required for adoption.  Apply for consideration to adopt or meet Luke at www.ruffdogrescue.org  ##359746##

Story
Rambo is just what you'd expect in a 1-year-old pup -- he's playful, silly, full of energy. He went on an adventure, got lost and arrived at the shelter on 02/14/2024, a Valentine's boy who is ready to find the love of his life. Rambo is a sweetheart, but is strong on a leash and needs some training he apparently didn't receive from his former family He weighs 58 pounds and is current on vaccines; he will be tested for heartworms, neutered and microchipped upon adoption. Come meet him in Run 107 using ID 653699. Please note, all of the pet listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers, not shelter staff. If this pet came in as lost (not an owner surrender), we don't know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. Story
Introducing this charming little boy named Romeo. Romeo arrived at the shelter on 12/31 because he was on an adventure and lost his way. He is very sweet and attentive and enjoys playing with his toys while he patiently waits for his new home. Romeo would love to have an active family that will include him on grand adventures. He is a smart baby as he knows how to sit all by himself which is awesome! He may know more and would be the perfect student if someone would take the time to teach him. His leash manners are not the best and he's strong on the leash but he's pretty smart and will learn in no time at all! He yearns for your attention! With your PATIENCE, love and guidance, he is going to need you now more than ever. Can you please help him get of this shelter so he can live the best life possible? Please come see this handsome fellow soon and get to know him more. Romeo is just 2 years old and weighs about 51lbs. Romeo current on vaccines, will be neutered and microchipped upon his adoption. He will also be tested for heartworms upon his adoption. He will be waiting for you to save his life in Run 79. Romeo's ID is 652765. Story
Meet handsome Stanley! He ended up at the shelter as a lost boy on 2/12, and no one has come to reclaim him. Stanley needs a hero in the form of a rescue or committed adopter. You see, Stanley can't be neutered here at the shelter because he has a heart murmur. The vet staff also discovered that Stanley has a large mass in between his toes on his left front paw which causes him to limp. We think Stanley must surely be house trained because he does his business as soon as he gets outside. What a good boy! We really want to see this sweet boy leave the shelter ASAP so that he can get the care he needs. The volunteers have discovered that Stanley is also very smart and knows several commands including sit, down, shake, and stay. Stanley is approximately 5 years old, and he weighs 64 lbs. He is UTD on vaccines, and he will be microchipped upon adoption. He did test negative for heartworms which is great news! Stanley will need to be evaluated by a vet for the mass on his paws as well as his heart murmur before he is neutered. Please come meet Stanley in run 880; his ID # is 653639. Please note, all of the pet listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers, not shelter staff. If this pet came in as lost (not an owner surrender), we don't know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained.
