Story
Friends to the Forlorn Adopt-a-BullBreed: Great Dane/American Bulldog Gender: Male Estimated Date of Birth: April 15, 2012 Size:  85lbs Location:  Dallas, GA RESCUING STONE Stone was originally adopted from Douglas County Animal Control when he was a small pup. That family gave him to another family, who then gave him to a third family, and he ended up a Fulton County Animal Control. He was next in line to get put to sleep at the shelter and we were able to pull him on the day he was scheduled to be euthanized. ABOUT STONE Stone is a giant. Our best guess is that he’s a Great Dane/American Bulldog mix. He is a big, playful goof and he loves toys … although he has not quite learned to bring them back to you. Stone does not understand his size or strength. It is very clear that a lack of basic obedience and being dumped several times in his formative years has affected him immensely. Stone is not very trusting of new people. He takes time to warm up and can be rather intimidating due to his size and behavior. He is reactive when in public to people and other dogs. Once he trusts you, you are part of his inner circle and he will show you his true personality. His true personality shines … he is fun loving, sweet, and silly. Because his previous owners simply dumped him off onto the next family, he lacked all leadership and guidance in his formative years so he does not know what behavior is acceptable and what is not. Stone does jump up on people and could benefit from some serious obedience training. He is reactive on leash in public and will require a strong owner. Stone also has trust issues and insecurities with strangers due to his previous life experiences. He will require a 6 foot privacy fence and a strong, experienced owner that is willing to take the time to get to know him and work with him on obedience. Due to his size and behavioral concerns, we do not recommend Stone for a home with children. All dogs are current on vaccinations, spayed or neutered, micro-chipped, on heartworm prevention, and are fed top of the line grain-free food.www.savingpitbulls.orgApril 14, 2024, 12:17 am

Story
Spot came from Polk County where he had been picked up as a stray and was never reclaimed. He was a staff favorite and when they put out an S.O.S. (Save our Spot), One his very last day, a memeber of the AMWB community came to his rescue. They could not see this young man being put down for space. She adopted him with the intention of giving him more time to find his forever Spot.   Spot is just over a year old. He is crate trained, house trained, walks well on a leash, and knows sit and give paw. He has a sweet, gentle yet playful personality. Stuffies are his absolute favorite things in the world! He loves to snuggle up with his favorite people and stuffies. Spot is very dog friendly. He could do well with other dogs, or even thrive as an only dog. Spot has been around children as young as 7 and does great with them. We feel like no cats or cats housed in a separate area that Spot would not have access to would be safest. He is neutered and up to date on vaccines. ##1948115##

Story
This beautiful girl is Miley. She is an American Bulldog Mix aprox 4-5 years old. She is sweet and very loving. Miley is currently a little plump at 75-80lbs and could stand to lose 10 pounds. Miley loves food and is not motivated to leave the couch if you are not going with her. She is good with children, but we would prefer she go to a home with older children (teenager) due to her sleeping issues. At times Miley wakes up from a deep sleep afraid and unaware of her surroundings. This can be problematic if she is sleeping on your lap and she is thrashing around. Training Miley to sleep on her bed and not the couch should be an easy fix.  Miley tells us that she would like to be an only dog because she deserves all the treats, attention and toys. Miley would make a wonderful loving companion. She is quiet in the house, house trained, and walks gently on a leash. Miley’s desire for a quieter less active lifestyle would make her well suited for a house or an apartment. She is gorgeous and oh so sweet. At adoption events she will press her body against the wire crate to get pets and scratches. All most to the point of tipping the crate over. If you are paying too much attention to someone, she will paw at you to get your attention. She loves people and just can't get enough lovingn, howere she can be particular about the company that she chooses both people and other dogs. She would love to be in an only dog home getting all of the attention. Life was not always so sweet for MIley. Before coming to rescue, she was tied up in the yard, living her life outside. She had many, many litters of puppies in her life. And came to rescue heartworm postive.  She has since been spayed and treated for heartworms.  Adoption fee $300 includes:spayed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped and treated for heartworms. To fill out an application visit https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/33868/generic ##1654173##

Story
this is miss mabel. i found her in the street one day and got out to try and save her but she ran from me. then a few days go by and my friend called me saying this dog showed up at their apartment and it was her ! so i went and picked her up immediately and took her to the pound to see if she was chipped and also to see if her owner would show. i waited a week and nobody came for her so i went to get her from the pound to foster her until i found her a new home. mabel is the sweetest old lady and she loves her some attention. she’s about 9 years old but don’t let that age fool you because she’s very active. she loves to go on walks and run around outside. mabel is also deaf and partially blind as well. i’m not too sure how she does will other animals or kids but i will say she would probably do best in a house without. if you or anyone you may know is interested please reach out !! this old lady needs an amazing and loving home instead of being on the streets or locked in the pound !!

Story
Hello there! My name is Raider, and I'm wagging my tail in hopes that you'll read my story and maybe even consider bringing me home with you. I may just be a 3-year-old mixed American Bully, but I've got a heart as big as my charming brindle coat. You see, I found myself lost and scared, but fate led me to this shelter on 02/07/2024, where I've been patiently waiting for someone like you to come along. At 50 pounds, I'm the perfect size for cuddles on the couch or adventures in the great outdoors. And my stunning eyes? Well, they're just the cherry on top of my handsome appearance! I have been neutered and tested negative for heart worms. Plus, all my shots are up to date, so you can rest easy knowing I'm a healthy pup ready to join your family. I will be micro-chipped upon adoption. I'm not just a pretty face, either. I've mastered commands like sit and stay, and I'm eager to learn even more with you by my side. So, what do you say? Why not swing by cage #58 and meet me in person? My ID is 653526, but you'll know it's me when you see my hopeful eyes and wagging tail. Let's start our journey together and make memories that'll last a lifetime. Please note, all of the pet listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers, not shelter staff. If this pet came in as lost (not an owner surrender), we don't know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When calling the shelter about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER, names are oftentimes made up by volunteers. This pet and many others are available for adoption from the Cobb County Animal Shelter 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, call (770) 499-4136 for more information. Shelter hours are: Tues. - Sun. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m, CLOSED Mondays & Holidays. The shelter prefers people to make an appointment, go to - https://nqa3.nemoqappointment.com/Booking/Booking/Index/as65fg9dr953 and select Adoption. You can also show up between 10:30 & 4:00 Tues. thru Sun. (shelter closes at 4:30), you might have to wait a few minutes until someone can help you. The adoption includes shots, altering, a heartworm or combo test and a microchip. When you book an appointment, it doesn't reserve a particular pet for you. Thank you for considering a Cobb pet!
