Story
Hello lovely people! I'd like to take the time to introduce myself if you don't mind. My name is Graham. I decided to take an awesome adventure in hopes I would find a kind and loving home to spend my near golden years and before I could find a proper one, I was brought to the shelter with ID on 7/24.Sadly, no one has tried to come look for me and take me home. Its a pretty sad situation and I'm sad because I don't want to spend another minute of my almost golden years in a loud, overcrowded shelter. Especially in a strange kennel for nearly 24 hours a day. I look forward to my walks and playtime with my friends, the volunteers. That little bit of time outside my kennel I cherish. I would really like to spend the rest of my years with you in a warm, welcoming home filled with nothing but love. and kindness everyday. Can you help me make my wish come true soon? I really hope so! I am a cute, sweet, gentle older fellow that deserves a better life. Wouldn't you agree? I am a very intelligent boy, too, and I do know how to sit when asked. So at some point I had someone that loved me enough to teach me some manners. I'm sure I know a little more and you could teach me even if I don't. Spend time with me and I'll show all the great things I could do! I am still eager to please and I can learn anything I don't know already. I will be your best student if you would be my best teacher! Oh, I am 6 years old and I also weigh 63lbs and every pound is nothing but pure love!! Which is a plus in my pup book! If you have got a loving heart to make time for me in your world, then I am your forever boy and I will be waiting for you. Just give me a chance and be patient with me. I would like to be apart of a family again and be wanted and loved and included in everything. I'm still a young pup at heart and a true love bug. Come see me please!! Graham is current on vaccines, neutered and micro chipped. He will be tested for heart worms also upon his adoption. Come visit him and allow him to live the rest of his adult life happily. He won't let you down. Graham will be waiting for his guardian angel in Run 26 and his ID is 660564. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. Story
Hi there, I’m Motor! Yep, you heard that right. The amazing folks here at the shelter gave me that name because when I first came in on 08/22/2024, I was covered in motor oil. But don’t worry—they gave me a nice soapy bath, and now I’m looking awesome with my sleek black and white coat. I’m a 1.5-year-old, 53-pound bundle of love from the bully breed, and while I might have been a bit shy at first, my true personality is shining through now. I’ve got some great manners too! I know how to sit, stay, and lay down when asked. The vet has made sure all my shots are up to date, and am not neutered. I will be heartworm tested and microchipped before adoption. I’m really hoping to find someone who will appreciate my story and give me the fresh start I deserve. Want to meet me? I’m hanging out in cage #848, and my ID is 661336. Let’s start a new chapter together! Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. Story
Now would you look at this sweet pea? She is just too cute and sweet as her name and her name is China. She came to the shelter on 9/18 because her former family lost their home and had no where else safe to keep China. She is a beautiful and sweet girl that needs her life turned around very soon. She is very intelligent as she knows to basic commands but it was a bit hot outside and she was a bit unsure but give her TIME and she will show you what she knows. She would be a wonderful student if you would take the time and effort to teach her everything she doesn't know already. China is feeling a bit confused and frightened as to why she is here but once she is outside, she opens up slowly. A volunteer will be spending time with her and working with her to help her gain her confidence. We know it is in there. She just needs people who love her no matter where she came from, that will give her the patience, love, respect and understanding that she deserves. This may have been the only home she has ever known. She stays quiet in her run while she is waiting for her new home. She would like to have that second chance to have a family once again and not stay in a shelter for too long. Can you help her find her way to her forever home? She would like that so much. Nice bed, lots of toys to play with, good meals and lots of love and attention from you. If you can help her make her dream come true, then she is your girl! China is current on vaccines, will be spayed and micro chipped upon her adoption. She is in Run 51 and her ID is 662040. China is only 4 years old and weighs a mere 69lbs. She is still a baby and she really doesn't deserve to start out in life in a loud, overcrowded shelter. Please give this sweet girl a solid chance. She needs you now more than ever. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. Story
Introducing this incredibly gorgeous beauty named Sariah! Sariah landed at the shelter because she got lost on an adventure on 9/29. Perhaps she was looking for her home or just trying to find one that will keep her save and and sound. This beautiful little girl is very sweet and cute. Sariah recently weaned pups but will be taking the no more pup pledge soon before leaving the shelter. The volunteers are making her feel welcomed and loved and wanted as much as possible. Just so she doesn't have to feel scared and lonely without her favorite person. Sariah loves the volunteers and the affection she is receiving. We are already in love with this little girl!!! Sariah is extremely sweet and pretty calm despite being placed in a loud, overcrowded shelter. She is very well behaved. Sariah is extremely smart because she knows how to sit really well and lay down and she takes her treats so gently. She is an amazing kiddo! She is hoping to find another loving person soon that will take the time to keep her safe and warm in her new home and be patient with her. She is eager to please and a natural at learning new things. She would love to be apart of a wonderful family again to make memories with. Please help her find her way home and take care of her the way should be. HAPPY, LOVED, WANTED, AND RESPECTED AS A LOVING, LIVING BEING. Story
CeCe found herself at our local animal control and on the euthanasia list. She is a very sweet girl to her humans and is going to be a great dog for a single pet home. It is likely she has never had much direction with other animals and she doesn't know how to interact with them well. For this reason we are requiring her to go to a home as the only pet. She loves to have all your attention. We don't know much about her previous life but we do know she deserves her very own family who will love her forever and keep her safe.   CeCe will probably not pass breed restrictions for an apartment building or rental home.   we are accepting applications here: https://gahomelesspets.org/ ##2192083##

If Banjo could play a song, it would be about what a good boy he is. Banjo is a 5-year- old male American bulldog/pit mix weighing in at 50 pounds. He is white with brown spots, neutered, and vaccinated. He is heartworm negative and healthy. He is good on a leash, not reactive to cats, dog friendly (one on one), and very people friendly. Story
A WONDERFUL YOUNG PUP:  Approx. 8 – 9 months old / Approx. 39 lbs. & growing  Hi, my name is Taffy!  I had a home, but my owner simply did not have the time to devote to me that I deserved, so I made my way to Mostly Mutts in order to find a new family to love and be loved by. I’m soaking up all the attention from the volunteers at the shelter and can’t wait to do the same with my new family!  I’m currently in the prison/foster training program off site and learning a lot!  Please inquire at 770-272-6888 to find out when I'm available to meet. • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I recently met a male dog at Mostly Mutts that I really liked.  I still need to be tested with female dogs, so check back soon to see how I did.  In the meantime, if you have a nice doggy at home who would enjoy a puppy friend, let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I met kids at Mostly Mutts that were around 10 years old, and I liked them!  I was interested in grabbing their feet when they ran though, so I’m working on that.  If you have kids around 10 and up, let’s meet and best no toddlers or very young kids. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m a super friendly and fun pup with a sweet personality.  A typical pup, I am playful and fun.  The volunteers who care for me describe me as ‘the most delightful, sweet girl with a happy energy’.  A true lap dog, my affectionate nature will surely bring lots of joy to a lucky family! / My energy level is 5-6+.  • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I’m in the Mostly Mutts University training program now and have mastered the ‘sit’ command so far and I look forward to learning more. I’m working on my leash manners and am using the ‘WE’ leash to help me with that.  I’m sure I’ll improve in the prison/foster training program. For now, kids should not walk me though. / I've been having some accidents on the shelter schedule.  Please continue to be consistent with me on a good schedule, so I can master my potty skills. • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I love to spend time playing with the volunteers – readily giving and receiving affection and kisses.  My leash manners are pretty good for a young pup, even though I am a strong girl. / I can’t think of any dislikes, though I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. I am looking for a great home with a loving family for life!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  November 3, 2024, 8:07 am

Story
A REAL PEOPLE DOG:  Approx. 6 years old / Approx. 26 lbs. Hi, my name’s Irwin and I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control.  Since joining the MM family, I’ve been soaking up all the love from the volunteers who come to care for me.  I hear that I’m now ready to find my new family, and I am so excited for that day.  Hopefully it will be soon!  I’m currently in the prison/foster training program off site and learning a lot!  Please inquire at 770-272-6888 to find out when I'm available to meet. • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I recently met dogs at Mostly Mutts, and I was a little shy, but didn’t show any aggression and played a little after warming up for a few minutes.  I also did well with the dog in a temp. foster home.  I was gentle and friendly with her, though we didn’t play together.  We did share my temp. foster dad’s lap.  In another temp. foster home, I was protective of my crate and space, showing my teeth to the 16-year-old male dog, so it may just depend on the dog.  If you have a friendly dog at home already, let’s meet. / I met cats recently in two different temp. foster homes and I was respectful and co-existed with them, simply sniffing them and going on my way.  I even shared my foster’s bed with one of them.  I also did not react to the one I saw on my walk, so if you have a dog-friendly cat, let’s meet and see if we can be friends. / There was a 13- and 18-year-old in my temp. foster home and I was friendly and gentle with them and enjoyed when they pet me. So, if you have kids, let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over.    • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  The volunteers describe me as friendly, calm, gentle, sweet, and a charmer as well as the sweetest boy who will melt your heart.  I’m looking for a family that has a stay or work from home family member as my favorite thing in life is to sit by my people or even on their lap.  I can be a bit of a couch potato, with a calm/low energy level when we are inside hanging out together.  I had little spurts of play but was mostly chill in the home.  They also said that I didn’t bark much (except when in that dreaded crate), but I did whine when my foster was walking away from me or when left inside by myself.  They also reported that I was an all-around sweetie!  I really seem to love everyone I’ve met so far and I’m sure I’ll love my new family too! / In my temp. foster home my energy level was approx. 3-5.  At the shelter it’s more like 4-6.  • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I am a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program where so far, I have learned the ‘sit’ and ‘come’ commands as well as accept friendly strangers without jumping and utilize proper door etiquette.  I also walk nicely on a leash.  / The crate and I are not friends!  In my first temp. foster home, I hated it and would cry, howl and bang against it, eventually settling down but it took a while, so it’s probably best I don’t live in an apartment/condo type home due to this. I did a little better with it in my other temp. foster home.  If you want to crate train me, I’ll need you to do it slowly and use positive reinforcement training (making it a place I can like).  MM will be glad to give you tips on that.  Perhaps I won’t need a crate in my new home.  I’m also not a fan of being in my crate at the shelter. / I had accidents on the shelter schedule but did wonderful in my temp. foster homes (for me everything is better in a nice home!). I’d go and stand close to the door to let them know I needed to go potty, and I didn’t have any accidents the 2 days I was in each home.  • LIKES/DISLIKES:  Most of all, I love being by my humans, cuddling up nice and close.  I met some strangers in my temp. foster home and loved on them like I knew them already.  I also like toys and playing fetch as well as chasing critters in the yard.  Walks are also on my likes list. / Besides my hate for the crate, I also don’t really like being left alone much.  Car rides are not my favorite right now, but maybe I just need more experience going on fun adventures with you.  I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I’m getting medicated baths for a little while to help with some discomfort on my front feet.  These can easily be done in my new home.  I’m also taking Apoquel, an allergy medication to help – this may be a temporary medication – just ask about this.  I’m looking for a wonderful family with a stay or work from home family member who will be patient with me at first – giving me a little time to settle in and feel comfortable. My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  November 3, 2024, 8:07 am

Diez once had a home with a person who loved him enough to look for him for a long time before giving up. Diez arrived at the shelter as a lost boy with ID, but his person, when contacted, was no longer in a position to care of him, though he said he had tried to find Diez for a year. He needs to find another person or family who would love him as much and more. Diez is well-trained - he knows sit, stay and lay down. Bentley is so loving and loyal. He is so chilled but alerts you when someone is approaching the house - a true protector. He has been the love of my life for 9 years since his birth and unfortunately my job is requiring me to travel abroad and Bentley needs a stable loving parent and/or family. He is motivated by snacks - his favorite is sweet potato doggie treats. He loves to play - wants you to pretend you’re taking his favorite toy away from him - he loves it! I feel so loved and safe in his presence and you will to. He deserves the absolute best parent(s) who can give him the love and care.
