Story
Binka is a female 7 month old American bulldog mix. She is very affectionate and loves to snuggle and be loved on by her humans. Binka gets along with her doggy foster sister just dandy and loves to wrestle and play tug. Binka can be a little nervous meeting new people or dogs in new places but loves having new guests in her home and greets them without hesitation! In new environments, she will warm up after having a little time to adapt. We think this may be because she is a little vision impaired. She can see things close to her face and can usually chase a ball just fine, but we suspect her sight is a bit blurry. For this reason, Binka would do better in a home with older kids - she does great with her foster mom's nieces who are 7 and 9! Other than this, Binka is a completely normal playful and sweet puppy! She is fully potty and crate trained. We are working on leash manners and she is doing really well at walking nicely without pulling most of the time but will pull a bit if she is nervous (like trying to get away from a barking dog). Binka is overall a super easy and very loving puppy and would make a great addition to any family! ##1949139##

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All dogs on the Best Friend Pet Adoption  website ARE available and require an approved Best Friend Pet Adoption application before you can be considered or meet any of our dogs.  The link to our application is   https://toolkit.rescuegroups.org/of/f?c=WHMSYCNC    FOSTER DOG INFORMATION: Pluto is an affectionate, 70 pound, neutered male dog. He was found abandoned on the side of the road in October 2023 and is currently being fostered for Best Friend Pet Adoption.  Pluto is very sweet, healthy, and happy. He is up-to-date on his vaccinations and the vet estimates his age as 6 years old. Pluto is great with all the people and dogs he has met. He especially likes people and loves cuddles and pets.  He plays well with the fosters two dogs but can be possessive over toys if boundaries are not set. He is house-trained and not possessive over food. He will sit by the door if he wants to go out. He knows to use the bathroom in the grass in the yard or in the grass while on walks.  Pluto seems to have been well cared for previously. He spends the day lounging on the couch, playing with his toys, and awaiting more belly rubs. Pluto is quiet. He will occasionally bark briefly when we get a package at the front door (but only if the package is set against the door) otherwise he does not make a sound. He will whine/bark briefly if left out in the yard longer than it takes him to use the bathroom.  He prefers leashed bathroom breaks so no fenced yard is needed.  He does pull some while walking on a leash. Mainly pulls towards houses (I think because he prefers being inside). We are working on improving his leash skills.   We have introduced Pluto to some kids and he did well.  He was on a leash and did very well. He does not seem to mind kids, but gives more attention to adults. He was fine with children running up to him, petting him, and grabbing at his face and ears.  He has met one cat. He was not aggressive but seems to have a prey drive so he would do best in a home without cats.  We feel Pluto could be with other dogs or as an only dog.  Pluto is crate trained; however, he does not need a crate.  He prefers to be out of his crate.  He is well mannered so we keep him out all day even when we are not home. He knows where he is allowed to go and what toys he can play with.  When we work away from home, he does great. We have a camera to check up on him. He sleeps most of the day and occasionally plays with my other dogs or with a toy.  We feel he could be left home alone or with another dog.  At night Pluto sleeps on a couch, recliner, or dog bed depending on his preference. He does prefer to sleep on the bed with us. Due to his size and snoring, he typically sleeps on the couch in the living room. Pluto is very friendly and well trained. He is quiet, gentle, and spends most of the day sleeping. He is great during the day while we are at work and happy when we return. He is always ready to snuggle up next to you on the couch and receive pets. He sleeps through the night and rarely makes noise during the day. He gets along great with my dogs and we would keep him in heartbeat if we did not already have two dogs.     EVERY DOG HAS A STORY: Pluto was found abandoned on the side of the road in October 2023. A BFPA volunteer found him and took him in.  We are helping this sweet boy find his forever home.      Some of the information contained in this biography includes approximations based on our expertise and is not guaranteed.    Applicants must live no further than one hour from Cary NC as our dogs must be seen by a BFPA veterinarian for all medical care prior to adoptions being finalized.  Our foster guardians deliver dogs to their new homes for adoption trials and we do home visits to finalize all adoptions.  We therefore require applicants to live within an hours drive of Cary NC.   INTERESTED IN ADOPTING PLUTO? Story
There's two phrases that fit this situation: Good things come to those who wait; and good things come in small packages. At 40lbs, she may not seem small to some, but in a home where the average dog weight is 75-80lbs, she's the little bitty one!  Have you been waiting for an adorable girl with the cutest underbite ever?  Well wait no more!  This little girl, official name Sugar, but affectionately called Ma'amins by her foster mom, is ready to find her forever this time.  She was originally a shelter stray, so there's no information about her background or previous life. Everything we know we've learned while she's been in a foster home.  She currently lives with two large neutered male dogs, but she also had a large spayed female foster sister for a couple months until she got adopted.  She challenged the female, who had no issue putting her in her place a few times. Then they were best friends. But her future friends may be a better fit if they're male. Sugar likes to wrestle. Despite being more than half the size of her opponents!  She gets the zoomies at night, racing around the house, trying to engage her brothers in play.  Her teeth are ground down in the front. No idea how or when it happened.  This is mentioned because she likes to play using her mouth at times. And it doesn't hurt because 1. She doesn't put much pressure behind it, and 2. She basically just gums you.  She likes to lick and give smooches as well. Yes, she's very kissy!  She's not very snuggly, however. Choosing to be more like a cat in that she'll hang out next to you, but usually not on you. If she gets in your lap, she usually wants something lol, so it doesn't last long.  And when she wants something, there's no concept of personal space. Ha!  House training has been a bit challenging, but we've worked out a good system. She can last about 5 hours. But she's also pee pads trained (helpful that her foster brother is a senior who needs a little help in that department as well). She isn't crated during the day, preferring to sleep on the couch. She has a few minor "issues" when it comes to crates/feeding that are easily managed. But because of those issues, it's recommended she not be in a home with young children.  And she's on medication due to minor seizure activity.  Not the typical seizures, thankfully. But now that she's properly medicated, there's been no issues since!  She's young (approximately a year old, give or take), spayed, up to date on vaccines and preventatives and ready for prime time. She is a happy girl who will waggily greet you at the door when you come home every day with silly woo-woo sounds! And would do fine as an only dog as well.  Nothing is known about how she is with cats, but we're willing to meet yours if you have a dog savvy cat.  She gets a kick out of telling the neighbors to get off her lawn lol. She doesn't realize her size and interesting bark make her less than intimidating!   Needless to say, this little button is quite the character. Let us know if you'd like to meet her! Do you have the heart and home to give this girl the best for the rest? Adoption fee of $150 includes spay, microchip, vaccines, deworming, heartworm testing, and heartworm/flea/tick preventionApply here: http://2pawsup.org/2pawsup_wp/forms/adoption-form/May 6, 2024, 3:27 pm

Story
A bulldog among the best of bulldogs, Tonya has arrived at the farm and she is ready to roll back out with some snugglin, bull dog lovin peeps that are looking for a great companion and walking buddy who does not like to run or do anything too strenuous. Tonya is an adult gal who, let's be real, likely had people before and surely had a few too many snacks. She weighs about 60 lbs now but is ready to give the Green Bean Diet a chance in order to get her beach body back for this summer. She is a lady through a through, likes to potty outside and can politely share space with other dogs but does not have a hankering for throwing down or getting rowdy. She likes things at a slow to middlin kind of pace. This sweet girl is likely to be your shadow and won't ever demand you run or walk super fast, but would like you to meander around with her on a regular basis. Tonya is ready to find her main squeezes and will be waiting patiently for you to arrive to rescue her so that she can rescue you from a life without her! *Weekend Host feedback: "We took her on a walk. She was excited about it and pulled initially, but then mellowed out". "She wasn't a big fan of her crate, so we let her sleep downstairs on the couch overnight and she did totally fine". "We have an older pit bull and they both got along". "We were able to leave the house with her uncrated and there were no issues while we were gone".

Story
***AVAILABLE ON-SITE THURSDAYS, FRIDAYS, and SATURDAYS*** Mr. Clean is pumped up to be the newest addition to your home! He does great in his crate, especially if you throw a treat in there and sleeps through the night once he's adjusted to a new space. Mr. Clean seems to be fully potty trained, so hopefully no messes to clean up from this guy! He is working on his leash skills, and will let you know when he's done with the walk by putting on the breaks. Mr. Clean is dog friendly especially with small to medium dogs, though he likes to test the big dogs with some physical play. Speaking of play, he is obsessed with any ball-shaped toy! Mr. Clean would love nothing more than to play fetch with you, and he even enjoys playing with the ball by himself. Fill out an application to meet this handsome fella!
