Story
Hi, I’m Brunswick — but you can call me your new best friend. I’m 75 lbs of charm, fluff, and tail wags, with a smile so dazzling it should come with a warning label. I’m about 7 years young and living life like every day is my birthday (except with fewer hats and more belly rubs). I came to the shelter as a stray and needed some medical TLC. The humans here helped me out big time, but the doc says I’ve got something called “high grade mast cell cancer.” Sounds fancy, right? Basically, it means I’ve got limited time — but don’t worry, I haven’t read the prognosis, so I’m still busy living my best life. Right now, I feel great! I love walks, sniffing literally everything, and spreading joy like it’s my job (because it is). I’m not looking for a lifetime — just a heart and a couch to call my own for whatever time I’ve got. Think of me as a limited-edition lovebug: rare, sweet, and worth every second. Let’s make some memories. You bring the snacks, I’ll bring the smiles. Love, Brunswick Available at the Animal Rescue League of Berks County, Birdsboro Pa 19508, KL#1257

Story
Pet was originally ours, pet then adopted by my mother after her dog passed away. My mother is no longer physically able to take care of the animal and our other dog no longer will accept her in the house. She’s a laid-back girl who just likes to take a nap eat snacks and cuddle with her family. Loves to be with her people. Very sweet.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us! Chance came to us after sitting/laying on a concrete kennel floor with a "breeder" who didn't know what to do with a puppy that couldn't use his back legs :(  We were contacted and although we typically do not take large dogs we felt the need to help. We had him with 2 different vets both saying he would never walk again, even our medical director did not hold out any hope.  We just knew we had to try so the Director started researching and working on his back legs and then we started using a cold laser wand and a wheel chair and within months Chance went from the chair to what we called "wonky walking" and now he races around the field!!! Chance is a typical bulldog doing what he wants and he is big so making him do anything is definitely not easy LOL.  He has learned the hand signal for sit and he will do it on command because he knows he gets a treat :) He is good with most dogs but we have found he is not fond of shihtzu's.  At the ranch he lives with cats coming in and out and has no interest in them.  Now if they gave him a hard time I'm pretty sure it would be game on! Chance may as he gets old need to revert back to a cart so we are looking for a home with either no stairs or only 1 or 2.   I do not suggest Chance for small children he is WAY to rambuncious and for some reason very fixated on them. If you have the right setup for a dog like Chance please fill out an applicationVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not. A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop! Story
Riley is a sweet girl who was surrendered through no fault of her own. When she first arrived at the shelter, her world had been turned upside down, and she completely shut down; she wouldn’t eat, and she barely acknowledged our staff. With time, patience, and gentle encouragement, Riley has begun to show us her true, loving self. She now enjoys her walks, happily leans in for those beloved booty scratches, and is slowly rediscovering joy. Riley does need to shed a few pounds, so a family committed to helping her stay active and healthy is important. She would also prefer to be the only pet in the home, your one and only girl. Riley is ready to leave her worries behind and start fresh with a family who will give her all the love and stability she deserves.

Story
KENNEL ID #18804 Duck was rescued from a high-kill shelter in Greene County, TN, where overcrowding forces heartbreaking decisions every day. Some were strays never reclaimed. Others were surrendered by their families — and sadly, owner surrenders are the first to be euthanized, as they receive no stray hold. Duck is an owner surrender he is housebroken, good with children, other dogs, and cats, knows commands, and is neutered. Duck is a big boy weighing 80lbs. Thankfully, our rescue partner in Tennessee stepped in just in time, saving 15 incredible dogs from the “last call” list. Each has now received full veterinary care and is preparing for a fresh start in PA. Despite their past, these dogs are full of hope and heart. Could this survivor be your new best friend? Duck is hanging out with his rescuer and foster mom, Carol, in Tennessee. If you have any questions, please email her at  abandonedangelsinc@gmail.com .
